Lukina stretched and tried to take a quick nap before the next round of fights but she'd just barely closed her eyes when she was called for her next match. Oof! Who knew a party could be so much work? She bounced over to the ring and hopped in. She'd be fighting another girl and she smiled at the stranger before setting her defenses. "Hi! I'm ready." She was happy to go first if the other girl wanted her too, either way. Lukina hoped to score another victory and make the swamp wolves proud. Not that she thought they'd care much about fighting prowess. She really didn't have a clue but she still wanted to do well.

It didn't take long for her next round of fighting to be called. She'd won her first match, which she was happy about, and now she wanted to go all the way. Avantika could be far more competitive than she seemed like she would be sometimes, and this was one of those times. Fighting was her most proud ability. Besides, there was always that ever-present desire to prove something: if she could win this tournament, that would mean that she was stronger than all of her opponents, right? If she was stronger, then she could be a good warrior of the Hallows. And so it always went. Back to her debt. Back to her pack. Her next opponent was named Lukina, a wolf she'd never met before. A girl, a little taller but young, and of a similar build. She set her defenses and cheerfully greeted Avantika, saying that she was ready. Avantika settled into her own defensive fighting stance, smiled, and waited for Lukina to move. She liked fights better that way. "Speech"

Lukina finished her drink, savoring the mix of sweet and sour that coated her tongue from the strange fermented liquid. It was good but soon it was time for her next match. She sprang to her feet and bounded toward the ring where her next opponent waited. Lukina smiled and nodded in greeting then squared off against her opponent. The other girl said she was ready and Lukina took that as the cue that it was up to her to make the first move.

Lukina set her defenses then bounded forward. She shifted her weight to her hind legs as she attempted to drag her claws down the front of her opponents forelegs. At the same time she attempted to bite the right side of the other girl's neck, just behind the jaw line.

Lukina bounded forward, reaching out with her front legs. Avantika reared onto her back legs quickly so that the girl's claws only grazed her paws and not her whole legs. This movement also allowed her to avoid the attempted bite to her neck. Her paws stung from the scratches as she dropped and jolted her head forward to try to get a hold on the top of her throat, just under her chin. She felt like she had a chance to do well in this fight, and she wasn't going to waste it. She was trying hard. She'd wonder, once she was done with this match, of course, how many wolves were left in the tournament. How many more rounds she would fight. It was a lot of pressure sometimes, but she loved the thrill of a fight and the opportunity to win. Her first love was fighting. She would never leave that passion behind. Lukina's claws managed to graze the girl's paws but because Avantika reared back her fangs missed completely. Lukina was quickly able to readjust her weight over all four paws as her front paws had already been on the way to the ground. As Avantika's jaws dove down toward her, Lukina attempted to intercept and counter the attack. She attempted to catch Avantika's lower jaw in between her own and maybe halt the other's attack. She didn't have much of a plan after that but that was typical of her. Lukina tended to fight on instinct and muscle memory, she didn't want to waste time on over-thinking.

Lukina was able to counter Avantika's attack, and the patchwork girl's lower jaw was taken in her opponent's jaws. However, this left her upper jaw in position over the top of Lukina's muzzle, so she simply bit down on her nose and the top of her muzzle, trying to get her to release. She wouldn't completely avoid drawing blood, but she wouldn't cause any significant damage. She was going for pain. That was all she felt that she was in the proper position to do. That was something she really liked about fighting. She didn't have to overthink things; in fact, thinking could kill her chances of winning. She just had to act. She found that natural and awesome once she allowed herself to do it. It was spontaneity that she so often denied herself.
