Spread My Wings!

Her first adventure without her siblings would take her to the a beautiful place. The young female wandered somewhat aimlessly, yet did her best to take heed of her surroundings. She had to make sure that she could get home no matter where she ended up! Yet she rarely looked back, for an adventurers blood ran through her veins, striking down any fear or nervousness she may have and leaving only traces of it in its wake. Brave, headstrong, yet more quiet was her confidence as she grew into herself. The little female's ears twitched as she stumbled forward, trying to be careful in her wandering but finding it hard to look forward and look down at her feet all at the same time. Being coordinated was hard while she was examining a new place. The world was so large and wild and vivid - full of colors and patterns and shapes that she had never seen before.
Higher and higher she climbed, noting that as she traveled the trees were getting thinner with her ascent. The girl quickened her pace when she realized she was getting to the end of something. She could taste the air changing, there was water nearby and less foliage up ahead. At that point she was bounding, wanting so badly to see what was at the end of this path, only to suddenly break free of the treeline. It took only a split moment for her to realize there was a reason for this - seeing the end of the ground and a sudden drop only a few feet up ahead. The girl yelped, pulling back on her haunches and pressing her front paws to the ground, barely coming to a stop. The front of her toes dangled slightly over the cliffside, but she had luckily pulled back just in time to stop herself from bowling right over the edge.
Ana's heart pounded violently in her throat, and she could feel the jagged edges and bright flashes that came to her with fear at the edges of her sight. Closing her eyes and doubling back, she sighed, and laid down with a huff. "That was too close." Perhaps she should be a smidgen more careful...

~*~
A silvery, sultry voice came from behind her, sounding, well rather disappointed if anything: "Not as close as you think, little one."
A snow leopard was lounging in a knoll of grasses just off to the side, a twisted and bent log, weather worn and lichen covered making a perfect bed which her hind legs could dangle off of. Her tail hung down like a snake from the other side, crooking at the tip as she spoke. A snow leopard on it's own is a rare sight indeed, but this looked like something out of a vision. The cat was ice and snow had surrounded herself in a land of sunshine and summer greens. It was more of deperation than drama, though. As of yet her search for other cats had been futile. More and more lately she'd been taking up with the company of wolves. She'd even - well, but why think about that when there was a pup present.
Wolf pups. Idiotic little things. The last one Silverback had come across wandering on it's own, she'd taken to stalking and eventually killed. Apparently the huntress was growing something of a heart, for after the deed was done, she'd felt remorse. Even regret. So, despite the obvious temptation, she wouldn't be pouncing upon this morsel. She'd just had some lean fawn meat the other day. She swore she was going to spoil herself on all this easy to catch southern food. If she got back to the north and found she'd gotten pudgy -
But back to buisness. There was a cream colored little girl laying a few yards away in the grass, and Silverback had just given a rather confusing observation. She elaborated: "I've been climbing these cliffs all morning. What with the deep water down below, they're much too short for you to kill yourself falling off of... unless you're unlucky." Her voice was still rather disappointed sounding. But no no no it wasn't because she'd been entertaining an idea of a juilet-esc dive. She as far to proud and lovely (not to mention afraid of water) for something like that. She'd been searching for high, steep cliffs, unreachable by anything but cats and birds. And cliffs with caves in them. An idea had been brewing in her head for some time. She wanted several little places like that.
Crystallum Cliffs, though, had proven most disappointing, despite the obvious beauty. If a creature was held three quarters of the way up the drop and began to get desperate, they could leap out into the water, and, on a choppy day, could arrive still kicking at the water level. Whether they drowned or not was their own affair. It was an all too easy route of escape for what Silverback had in mind. Sad really, this lovely little thing would've made a beautiful caged bird.
"So tell me, bold one," rumbled the she-cat. "What's your name?"
