With all of the strange things happening, honestly it wasn't very strange to Viper. Sure the waning moon was annoying, but everything else she was able to walk on by. The voices, the fireflies, the glowing crystals and mushrooms. She just put it all behind her like it didn't matter.

But it seemed that maybe that wasn't entirely the case. As she walked through the dam lands to head back home for the night? Maybe night, she didn't know. She had a sudden pulsating pressure in her head causing her to stop dead in her tacks. It wasn't really painful, but it was like this powerful force was trying to hold her down to the earth. Her breathing became heavier as her eyes looked around at the fog that she hadn't noticed was all around her before. Was this like when she was with Mephistopheles? Was the fog going to take her breath away until she passed out? She couldn't help a obvious panic as she fought the nonexistent force controlling her, and that's when she heard the voices slowly creeping up around her. They were hushed at first, but soon loud and louder in her head. Her body trembled under the stress of her situation, probably no one in the pack had seen her like this before. In fact, she had probably never felt this way before.

The voices almost spun around her coming from every direction; Aranea, Tyranis, Rain, Elias, Jupiter. They were all shouting at her in contempt or pleading with her. It was all mixed messages. While in the fit, her eyes started to leak out like brightly glowing oiled tears, but she couldn't even figure out the voices first before realizing the physical effects.

The world had turned into a hell. The night had never bothered him and the glowing shit wasn't all that annoying, but everything that came along with it was horrible. He was convinced that the pain from Aliana touching the crystal that he'd broken had taken the lives of his unborn children. It was too clear to be coincidental. Since the day that Ali had aborted their children, everything had been different. Chi had become darker, more brooding. Aliana had folded in upon herself and seemed to be pushing everyone away. Now his living children were infected with whatever madness this mess was. It was all too much. And despite it all, life didn't end. His work and his duties didn't end.

Chimera found himself on the mainland, hunting the plentiful beaver. They were fairly easy prey, having grown fat and complacent over the years. With so much culling, they would get back to being lean and fearful in no time. The man didn't care about that at all. The only thing that concerned him was collecting fresh meat for his family, both sick and not sick.

What was this garbage? Why were these crystals even here? A punishment for sure. He'd done enough foul deeds to warrant some punishment, but Aliana was innocent. His children were innocent. There was no reason that anything bad should happen to them. Despite all of it, Chimera was still glad that he had been spared. Someone had to take care of those that couldn't take care of themselves.

It was then that he caught sight of Viper. Her spinning and growling startled the beaver and sent them all scattering into the water. Chimera growled and glared at the woman. He noted the luminescent liquid pouring from her orifices and his hackles lowered. The man released a deep sigh. This was all that he fucking needed.

"Chimera"

She shook from the craziness all through her mind, her vision was blurred if she tried to look around. And with each passing second she had more ooze falling from her eyes and mouth.

It was almost like the hundred voices pointed her straight into the direction of Chimera who was close by but not right over her. Her neck nearly snapped as she shot a look in his direction before coming in full force at him. Her jaws opened wide to bite down into his foreleg, plenty more aggressive than she had ever been with him. She was fighting for her life. With her head first, she tried to push into his chest as if she could topple him over like that.

She didn't see Chimera before her, instead she saw Elias. Their vast size differences made her relive this moment in her past, she was back in her young, pup age biting at Elias' ankles for her freedom. "You can't take me with you!" She shouted, as if Chimera knew at all what she was even hollering about.

"Speech"

Viper came barreling towards him and her small frame slammed against his chest, but he did little more than take a single step back. A low growl did pour from him as he looked down at the leaking woman. There was strange goo pouring from her just like it was pouring from his children. Was the whole world going mad? The children were already locked in the empty slave cells. Thankfully the slaves themselves hadn't become infected. Not being out amidst the spores and whatnot must have been the trick. And yet here he was... not infected. He'd broken the damn things in a fit of rage. The crystal that had... taken his children.

Pushing his emotions away, Chimera raised a paw and shoved the erratic woman away from him. "I don't want anything from you, Viper. Nothing at all." Wouldn't it be easy to just kill her now? Blame it all on the crystals and the mushrooms and the fucking fireflies that were everywhere? He could drag her to the water, shove her under and keep her there until she stopped kicking. Then he'd never have to worry about her again. Instead, he pushed her away again. "Get it the fuck together, woman." He snarled again, his two-toned pelt bristling.

"Chimera"

Chimera had her pinned easily. He was much larger and stronger than her, but she was never one to just cave under someone. It was written all over her past.

Pushing up at Chimera's legs with her own paws and wiggling around under him, she wasn't only spewing the crazy ooze, but real actual tears fell from her eyes. If it wasn't entirely obvious, the crack in her voice is what showed her true emotion, one she had never showed in her entire life, "Why didn't you want me?" She cried out but less a question and more an angry statement. But this time she wasn't seeing Elias, but her father Tyranis. He had taken Rain and left her behind. Left her with Aranea who neglected to take care of her and put her in the mess that was her life today. As much as she loved Chimera when she was with him, she wished she could turn it around. Be somewhere where she was happy, understand what she wanted before they met. Saved him the trouble she gave him. If she had been raised better, maybe she would have understood better. And in turn, she probably would have never met Chimera.

The woman flailed beneath his paw, ooze and tears streaming from her eyes. Chimera looked down upon her, mismatched ears flicking forward. He watched her as she cried. Truly cried. The break in her voice as she questioned him brought the brutes ears shifting backwards. He had no way of knowing that she wasn't seeing him, wasn't talking to him. The massive man sighed and released his hold on the black and russet fae. Why didn't he want her? "I did," he spoke softly, still looking down at her. "And then you wanted me to be something that I couldn't be."

All of her ranting, raving and violence... he couldn't let her be around the children being as unpredictable as she was. He didn't understand this sickness one bit, but he did understand that, at present, Viper couldn't be trusted. Lowering his head, Chimera carefully wrapped his jaws around the back of the fae's neck. He then began dragging her back towards the island. He would lock her in one of the cells where she couldn't damage herself or others. It was the kindest thing that he could do for her. Other than drown her, maybe.
