Not long after Kumiho had his encounter with the paranormal entity in some strange nether realm, he had comforted and reassured the mushroom-infested Kitsune and escorted her back to her home. As much as it pained him to do so, she shouldn't be out and about in her condition. She needed to be tended to by trained healers and resting with her family caring for her. And so Iho had gone days without seeing his friend. Part of him wondered if he'd ever see Kitsune again, or if she'd be claimed by her sickness and the last thing he'd ever done was send her back to her family away from him. The arctic wolf swallowed back his anxiousness, continuing his stroll down the banks of the dark river to try and clear his mind. He had somehow managed to remain free and uninfected throughout this entire tragedy befalling the world—but how long would his luck last? He really needed to get the fuck out of here. Gather up some supplies, finish his raft, and cast off, drifting in the sea away from everything until the world turned back normal again... if it turned normal again.

Ever since purchasing the "phone" from the firefly entity, a small cloud of the glowing lightning bugs had been following him around. Every time he'd turn to look at them, they'd form into the shape of the phone again, just waiting for him to use them to contact their master. So far, Iho had abstained from using them... but what if the entity had some supplies he might need in his escape, or knew of a way to cure Kitsune? Wasn't that worth trying for? Iho stopped and stared at the dark waters of the river, seeing the fireflies buzz around behind his reflection. Blue eyes turned to look at them, and once more they formed into the phone again. Kumiho hesitated, considering his options and fortune, then released a sigh and took the "phone" in his paw.

Iho turned the "phone" around in his paw, inspecting the fireflies from all angles. "So... how exactly does this work?" he asked the bugs in his paw. As if replying to him, the fireflies all illuminated at once, then only a small portion in the middle did, as if simulating a button. Raising a curious brow, Iho lifted his other paw and booped the firefly button. All at once, a strange, unearthly ringing could be heard in his head. It started out faint, but the longer it went on, the more Iho realized that the sound wasn't in his head—it was coming from the fireflies! He stared at the "phone" in his paw with growing concern, but slowly lifted it to his ear, listening to that ringing for a moment until there was a sharp click... and then silence on the other end. "Uh... hello?" he spoke into the "phone". "Is, uh, this the firefly god... demon... guy?"

As the fireflies clear, you see a familiar figure as he busies himself with setting up a shop.

A sign nearby has some writing, which you interpret to mean, "NO BARGAINS."

As you approach, the creature turns to you, "I am not quite ready to open my shop to everyone, but for you I will make an exception. Choose one, or choose as many as you like, but don't choose what you can't afford," he says.

No sooner had he dialed the "phone", the fireflies in his paw burst outward, swarming around him and obscuring his vision. When they cleared, Kumiho saw the cloaked entity once more, hurrying to lay out a plethora of items across the rickety shop stall. Approaching the familiar sight, Iho gazed in wonder at the assortment of items. There were waaaaay more options available to him now! Had the entity been collecting and hoarding these things all this time? The entity bid him to choose any of the items that he could afford, and once more, Iho's collection of mushrooms appeared as if out of nowhere beside him. The arctic wolf placed all three mushrooms on the stall and began to peruse. The assortment was vast and fascinating! Where did he even begin?

As he ran down the rows of product, a bottle containing a light purple liquid caught his attention. A small piece of something was floating in it, yet despite inspecting it from different angles, he still had no idea what he was looking at. Some ways it looked like a crystal, others a chunk of mushroom. Either way, it held Iho's attention, and even when he kept looking through the items, his eyes were consistently drawn back to the potion. Finally, he made his decision. "I'll take this," he said, taking the ??? Mutation Potion while sliding all of his currency across the stall to the entity. "And, uh... thanks for your business. Hope it's been... lucrative?"

The wolf looks on in amazement as the items are produced. He chose one and slid his currency across the table. He thanked the creature for the business and said he hoped it had been lucrative. "It has been... beneficial," the figure said before stooping, becoming swarmed with fireflies once more as he vanished seemingly into thin air.
