big brotherly duty

Kuroki didn't come out this way often, nor did many Ashen wolves from the smell of it. As far as he knew the Ashen Armada relations were doing well enough, Venom got along with Sirius just as well as she always did, so if he had to guess it was probably related to the ooze. No one wanted to mingle as of late, too busy bunkering down as the long night dragged on and on. Except all that bullshit hadn't stopped one of those Armada boys from sniffing around his little Iki, apparently. Typical.
Now, Kuroki never regarded himself as a small-dick energy, macho kinda guy who had to bark at any dude who looked in his sisters' direction but... He was bored, had nothing better to do and figured it might be a fun little excuse to get into a scrap. To test the guys' mettle and his sister's taste in dudes if nothing else.
"Yo! Is Iki's boyfriend here or what?" He called into the Plains none too politely.

Kotori had been casually walking towards the border thinking of going to find some prey to hunt down. He was getting better and wanted to keep up the progression. Working out a plan for the day in his mind was cut off when he heard another wolf calling out for Iki’s boyfriend. Boyfriend? Kotori’s tail wagged with its own mind before he stilled it. Why would that label please him to hear? Stupid. For that matter, he hadn’t exactly told anyone that he liked a girl and imagined questions. It wasn’t the way he wanted family to hear he liked a girl.
Kotori jogged out to where the little ass wolf was calling from. Little apparently was a mistaken word choice as this wolf was even a bit taller than he was. Kotori would guess more like dad’s size, and he not only had horns but also fangs like some members of Kotori’s family.
“Yeah, he is. Shut the hell up,” Kotori called out in a not-so-friendly greeting, “Who are you?” Kotori’s voice lowered a bit as he got neared and no need to speak up across farther distance. Ashen, that much was easy to scent. He also had horns but hey they were becoming the fashionable thing these days. Was he related to Iki? Kotori guessed it was possible but the tail was sure different, and where his little princess could curl up so nicely besides Kotori this guy was even larger than Kotori. Did the fact they both have horns and black in their coat suggest a relation? Eh, maybe or maybe it was some other reason. Either way, the guy had a big mouth and an attitude.
“I’m Prince Kotori Fatalis,” the brownish wolf formally put out there. Ikigai had been upfront fast when he met her of station so let it be no doubt that he was just as much pureblood if this guy needed to know it. “She told you I’m her boyfriend?” The words were questioned irritably but really he wanted to hear what she had told this guy. She talked about him when they weren’t together?

The mysterious boyfriend in question soon barrelled into the scene, and apparently was none too pleased about Kuroki's little visit. So he was the grumpy, uptight kinda guy? Kuroki quirked a pale brow, not in the least offended but rather surprised this was the sort of guy his sister would gravitate to. She was all grace and poise and...well, the Armada wolf wasn't hideous or nothing but he looked real similar to a rotting log Oki had stepped over not long ago. But more importantly, was this how he talked to little Iki? Kuroki fucking hoped not, then he'd have to slap a bitch.
"I'm her brother, course I know." He said, as though it was to be expected. Siblings didn't have to be each other's asses all day long but the thought of not taking an interest in their lives baffled the Ashen yearling. They were family. " I'm Kuroki...bla bla bla. " Too many titles and no desire to rattle through 'em all." Anyway, there's no need to get your cock in a twist about it, your Highness. Surely you'd wanna check in too if someone like you was sniffing around your sisters, right? " He raised a paw and flicked out some dirt from beneath his talon.
Didn't reckon it'd take much to poke him into fighting, if he was anything like Sirius anyway.

Kotori didn’t like the guy. He was loud and arrogant. He was, of course, Iki’s brother and she took her station seriously so it made sense he’d be an arrogant ass too. However, Ikigai was a lot prettier than this clown. He seemed to be completely opposite of her so far.
Kotori moved to stand next to the wolf so only a foot or so between the two heads, irritated perhaps more than he should be. The wolf is rude and crude charging on the pack land with attitude and arrogance. That was the main thing that ticked Kotori off. Considering how Ikigai couldn’t fight perhaps being protective had some logic.
“One of my sisters is seeing someone. I didn’t go onto their pack’s land hollering like that.” He had been thinking of wanting to meet the guy Briar liked but he hadn’t so it didn’t matter if he had similar thoughts on it. He didn’t want to understand how this guy thought, he just wanted to dislike him for the entrance he was making.
“I can’t fathom how you two are related. For one thing, she’s beautiful and you’re,” he waved a paw as if searching for a word, “well, not.” Kotori smirked, “She’s graceful and dainty and incredibly smart,” the compliments rained down on his thoughts on Ikigai, “whereas I’m not sure if you’ve got any more brains than the last bear I fought. Which, if you need a hint, wasn’t much smarter than a rock.”
“Anyway, I like your sister, I’m seeing your sister, and planning to go see her again soon. Are we done?” Kotori hadn’t started a fight but insulting the guy while being up in his face wasn’t very friendly either. How far did the guy want to push him? Another part of his mind wondered if anyone heard who would have questions on it.
