After two spars, Kali figured she ought to have at least one more in her before she called it a day. Her muscles ached and a slight sheen of sweat dappled her golden-masked brow, but she knew it was all for her betterment. The Cherubim was certainly egotistical, there was no debate about that, but she also knew that her bark needed to be backed up with bite. All talk and no action would get her nowhere, especially not in their world, and so she once again tilted her head back and let loose a howl, calling for a final challenger. Maybe they would give her a run for her money.

Everything had changed since she started getting better. Kaija was longer quite as joyous and carefree as she'd once been, though she had a feeling that was a little something called growing up, and was inevitable in the face of all she had gone through. Still she longed for how things had been since everyone had gotten sick. That stupid fucking sickness... a low growl bubbled in her chest as she stalked through the plains. Even the sight of the sun creeping up above the horizon wouldn't fully brighten her mood. Her word had a layer of darkness to it now that she couldn't seem to shake.

Maybe a fight would help ease some of her pent-up aggression. Hearing someone call for a sparring partner, her interest was piqued. By the time she reached the wolf that called she was breathing a bit harder, having wasted no time in meeting her. Her potential opponent was smaller than her and looked lighter on her feet - maybe she'd make a good punching bag for the moment. Even better since she was asking for it. "You wanna fight?" Kaija asked plainly, wanting a more concrete confirmation before she charged at her.

She didn’t have to wait long for an opponent to arrive, taking the form of a girl around her age, though taller than her by half a foot and with many more pounds sticking to her thick frame. Even more oddly, she had a unique set of curved tusks reminding her of a boar. She’d never seen anything like it, but whether or not she found them appealing...she couldn’t really say. The girl verified she wanted a fight and Kali’s normal, impish grin settled onto her features. “Well, I certainly didn’t come here to sight see,” she mused, gesturing with a dainty paw to their rather dreary surroundings. While the other may have wanted to verify with her about her intention, Kali didn’t want to waste as much breath. She’d already been through two other spars that day and had plans for more training later, so she wanted to get the show on the road.

Kali leapt forward, her light frame streaking across the earth as she aimed to sweep past her opponent and hopefully shove her shoulder into the knee of the girl’s back left leg in an effort to destabilize her. She didn’t want to hurt her too badly, but if she sprained the knee or dislocated it because she was too slow...well that wasn’t the Cherubim’s fault, was it?

Immediately she was greeted with a bit of sass, earning a little grunt from Kaija in lieu of an answer. Yeah, sure, whatever she said; though she'd gotten a little less cordial these days, she wasn't about to just charge at some stranger unannounced, either. Seemed the least she could do before she went sinking her fangs into some stranger. Fortunately for them both though it was obvious Kali didn't feel like beating around the bush, and only a moment after she spoke she sprang forward toward her.

Kaija braced herself, digging her toes into the soil for traction as the stranger nearly collided with her - but at the last second she swung around her and rammed into her leg, making Kaija falter for a second, stumbling as her other three limbs had to compensate for its brief absence. Trying to regain her balance, Kaija swung around to her left as sharply as she was able, jaws parting as she aimed for one of Kali's ears. Maybe if she directed her weight she'd be able to get a grip on her scruff, but due to her positioning it was proving unlikely.

Kali’s hit landed, sending her opponent stumbling to the side. The other girl’s head snapped sides as she tried to find leverage on some part of the Klein girl’s body. Her head tried to rear to the side to avoid the attack, but she felt the girl’s fangs graze her cheek, leaving a smarting scratch. She frowned, assessing their positions for a moment before kicking upward her hind legs, sending her rump in a crash course direction toward the other girl’s head. It was an odd move, but if it succeeded it wouldn’t be much different than a head butt, just with the opposite side of her body.

Though she didn't necessarily expect to grab hold of Kali so easily, she was rewarded with the feeling of her teeth grazing her cheek. It was a minor injury at best, but better than nothing, and it gave her another surge of adrenaline to keep her going for a bit longer. Kaija didn't expect the other girl to send her hindquarters square into her jaw and she stumbled slightly before trying to regain her composure on all fours before side-stepping back into her. She made an attempt to swivel around and part her jaws to send a hard bit square into her rump, not holding back this time.
