Since the sun had returned the man had a lot of time to think. During the part of the day he was awake, as he tended to stay up later due to habaris habits, he had taken to training himself. He only felt like he was getting older but most of all he felt a sense of ambition. Since his lung infection hed been pleasently surprised he hadnt recieved long term affects. Here he stood Eraithus stared at the shrivelling mushrooms now only a memory under the gaze of the sun. His paws dug into the dirt, he knew his addiction hadnt left him yet it was time for some fun.

Eraithus head tilted back in a howling call. He didnt care how dirty a spar got, but he was aching for some action. Considering he needed to be at the ready. Perhaps somehow he could impress the wolves of Habari. Not that this was his main goal, his goal was experience. At the end of the day he wanted to be the one surviving.

Kali hadn’t expected to see another Habari wolf so far out of their borders, though she supposed she shouldn’t be surprised. Her pack, while not very social with each other, didn’t just lounge around from day to day. Her mother made sure they were useful and it was well known within their ranks that they wouldn’t last long if they didn’t prove their worth. They had no use for lazy, weak specimens of their species, not when they had a duty to the Empire to gather information and provide extra paws in the event of an attack. Rather, she found herself growing pleased. She trotted toward the blue coated man, wracking her head for his name before it came to her. “Erathius,” she greeted, a smirk pulling the corners of her lips up. “It’s a pleasant surprise seeing you here. Care to have me as your partner?” Her words weren’t really a request and she knew he wouldn’t deny her anyhow.

Eraithus was pleasantly surprised, Kali had grown far from the pup he remembered her. He remembered his first year like it was yesterday, that was when he had tasted wolfs blood for the first time. Kali currently was in line for replacing no not replacing, taking over in the event of her mothers demise. Although Recluse was young and he assumed she would even outlive him. By the time she was finished speaking there was a steady wag of his crooked tail. "Itd be a pleasure to spar with you Kali." she could challenge him any day. And perhaps hed get into better standing id he had Kali knowing his own fighting skills. She was right he couldnt turn an oportunity down like this.

He positioned himself straight across from Kali give or take a few feet. Spreading his limbs classically on the dirt his toes spread into the terrain for traction. His tail lifted parrallel to his body the crooked tip simply juttting in an awkward position. His ears pinned to the back of his head, eyes narrowed and hackles raised. Eraithus tucked his head slightly towards his chest, shoulders rolling inward for a compact starting stance. He grinned and he wasnt sure if it was from excitement or want. "After you." he encouraged through blue eyes.

He replied that it would be a pleasure to spar with her and she smirked. Of course it would be, he was sparring the Cherubim, his future leader. While Erathius had gone up and down in their ranks since her birth, she had to admit he had always been loyal to them. He’d always seemed to have a keen eye for her mother, she’d noticed, but that was to be expected in her mind. The Seraphim was quite the beauty and he obviously wasn’t the only one. Her mother had recently birthed spawn, after all.

He got into his defensive posture, quite effectively she noted, but Kali fought differently. There was no fear in her fights, nothing but calculation and quick movements. Her paws spread apart, her auds pressed to her head, but her fluffy tail curled over her back instead of between her legs. He offered her the first move and she made quick work to take it, leaping forward with open jaws in an attempt to muzzle grab him and force him to the ground. Maybe she’d gotten a bit too much of her mother’s dominant streak.

Recluse had seen how he could fight but Kali had not. The rush of excitement that hit him was a familiar feeling. She could quickly come to know that he was far from the backgroundish man he appeared. Kali was quick, but he was prepared. Being around the same height made things easier. He saw her attack coming and he was there to react. Tilting his head to the right while shifting his body weight in the same direction made the attack hit the left side of his chest. She was forceful sending a pain of bruising through him. Quickly his jaws opened and he went for her head.

His jaws aimed to purchase her left ear. It was an easy place to draw blood and for some reason he instinctively was in love with the Kleins taste of blood. Nothing else mattered but the fight. At this he lifted his left leg attempting to swing it down on Kalis left paw hoping to get a hit. A growl escaped him and the dance began.

Instead of her jaws finding purchase on his muzzle like she’s intended, she found herself crashing into his chest, a small ‘oof’ escaping her lips. They were roughly the same size, so it wasn’t like she was going up against some behemoth, but the impact was still enough that she knew she’d have a bruise later on.

Erathius reared back, his neck twisting to snap at her ears and she ducked, luckily having her auds already pressed to her head in defense. However, she wasn’t prepared for him to stomp on her paw. She grit her teeth, head snapping sideways to try and find purchase on his throat, not enough to draw blood, but enough to hopefully end in victory.

She was doing well to keep up with him. This told Eraithus that she really had trained and at least paid attention. Either though lessons or experience it didnt matter. Her tucked ear made him miss, slamming into the side of her head. However, it seemed he had taken her by surprise with his paw and she jerked her head upwards.

His head tilted slightly if not for the fact he tried to keep his body in tact it wouldve worked. Her jaws clamped on his cheek near his left ear. Eraithus in turn aimed to attempt a hold on her right shoulder where it met her neck. Something he had learned was going for the painful attacks meant more than the lethal.
