I Don't Find Trouble, Trouble Finds Me!

Ricin strikes a path through the forest, happy to be exploring such a beautiful place. Crimson eyes look over the berry laden bushes, mouth watering at the rich, vivid colors. Glancing back toward Chade, his brother trailing behind to protect Ricin’s blind spots, the lighter blue pup offers the darker sibling a huge smile. Sure, it taken a lot of convincing, even more begging, and a dash of pleading but Chade had finally caved in and followed. Okay, it was more of a begrudging ‘I need to keep you safe because you always find trouble’ compromise but Ricin is ignoring that fact. The lighter pup is too excited that he has found such a wonderful place and all because he likes to explore.
Ricin 1, Chade 0.
Finding a nice shaded spot, Ricin stops to rest. Looking to Chade, the lighter pup smugly asks, “So Ny… whatca think? Not so bad, right?” A wide ‘told you so’ grin rests on his lips as he looks to his darker brother. However, his attention is drawn away from Chade and his reply is lost to deaf ears as Ricin squints at some bushes behind his brother. For a brief moment, Ricin was sure he had seen eyes… the lighter pup quickly shakes it off and says, “I am sure there are plenty of prey animals around! Perfect time for you to go hunting.” What Ricin fails to add is, ‘and for me to go exploring’.
Ricin loves his brother, he really does, but Chade can be a bit of a wet blanket when it comes to having fun. The darker brother sees danger around every corner while Ricin only sees the fun and exciting adventures. When Chade finally leaves to find them food, Ricin sits and waits for his brother to return. The sound of something rustling through the bushes behind Ricin, has the lighter pup looking behind him. Curiosity wins the day as the rustling continues, getting further and further away. Ricin leaves his spot to go find the source of the noise.
Paws move quickly toward the source of the sound, eager to find something interesting to report back to Chade. When Ricin gets close the rustling stops and the light blue pup also stops. Wait… that rustling came from something really big… Just as Ricin pieces together the sound with size of the creature, a huge grizzly bear bursts out from the bushes, roaring and charging toward the light pup. Ricin tucks his tail, turns, and runs as fast as his legs will carry him. Panicked voice yells out, “Chade! I need a little help here!” The grizzly is closing the distance rapidly and Ricin hopes Chade will reach him in time.

It started off with Ricin the more nervous of the two pups. After everyone else was dead Ricin had been the wariest. Chade had wanted his brother to feel safe under his care but perhaps this wasn’t getting to be a bit much. Chade had grudgingly gone with Ricin to keep him safe. The dark blue pup rolled his eyes upward at Ry’s smugness of things being fine. It didn’t matter if trouble showed up or not in this debate, the fact was things were dangerous and problems could come up. Whether or not it did happen to a degree was about luck.
“Uhhuh,” an answer that well stated how comfortable he still felt. It wasn’t like Chade wanted to kill Ricin’s fun or that he didn’t want to have fun himself but Chade was responsible for their lives and how could he ignore that? “Just, don’t get in trouble. I’ll be back in a bit,” though ‘in a bit’ depended on what prey he found, no doubt there was plenty of it here but the difficulty was growing as the prey was all healthy again. The weakened ones had been quickly dying off if not from injuries than from other hungry predators.
Chade was watching a doe with her fawn, saliva coming down from his mouth as he decided the odds and then Ricin hollered out and the deer tensed up then fled. Chade spun about and ran towards the sound of his brother’s voice, fearing what he could imagine was the worst. Unfortunately, his fears were pretty accurate. Chade ran in front of his brother, snarling at a giant bear. Ah hell, they were dead, “Run, run!” Chade couldn’t go for escape if Ricin stayed near.
Chade was glad they were at least large for their size but did it really make much difference when the enemy was this large. The giant paw came towards him and Chade wanted to flee but standing his ground Chade bit the paw as it got near. Fear washed in his mind with adrenaline, the claw had touched his fur, touched it but not flesh. That was a hell of a huge paw so it was nothing but luck that he hadn’t been killed.

Auster was a mystery for the Geisha and that just sparked her interest to explore it, and see if it shared any similarity to Boreas or if it held it's own stuff. She allowed herself to cross the strip of land that led to the other continent.
She arrived and along her dog she began her adventure, doing so after fulfilling her duties, which weren't many but either way she always made it perfectly. Then she heard a commotion, and her dog was the first to run to the scene and so she did too. A bear was picking on two pups, what a big fat bully right? No more reasons were there and like that, sneaking behind the bear she would jump with tiger claws extended, landing on it's hips like a lion, for simultaneously sinking her sword wherever she could.
The bear roared and focused on its new target, hoping she could give the children time to escape. "Go, now!". She commanded.

Ricin did not need encouragement to run, the feel of a grizzly right on his butt is enough to spur on onward. However, as Chade rushes past him, dark blue fur blurring by, the light pup realizes just how much trouble they are in. Chade is his brother, he has sacrificed so much so that Ricin can be here. Guilt, fear, and determination have Ricin spinning around to aid the darker the pup. Okay so maybe he isn’t a fighter, maybe he is more of a liability than an asset, but that doesn’t stop Ricin from running to Chade’s defense. Crimson eyes watch as one of the bear’s paws misses the darker pup’s head by the smallest of margins.
Fear spurs him onward, adrenaline courses through his veins as Ricin runs forward, ready to draw the attention away his brother. However, a pink wolf suddenly appears, leaping gracefully onto the grizzly’s back and latching one with tiger like claws. Ricin stops, watching as the wolf sinks a large sword over and over into various spots on the bear. It roars in pain, attention completely off the two pups. The attacking wolf orders the pups to run and Ricin is more than glad to follow the command. However, the lighter pup’s plans quickly change as he watches the grizzly start to stand a on its hind legs and try to shake off the wolf on its back.
Remorse replaces fear at the prospect of getting a stranger injured along with his brother. Maybe he is trouble magnet. Light blue legs carry him forward, darting him in close to the roaring bear’s belly. Jaws snap on empty air as Ricin has avoid a large swinging paw. Ducking and dodging, Ricin makes his way out of the bear’s range of attack.

Chade was a brave little pup and he already had a grave understanding of responsibility for another life as he cares for his brother. He was still a puppy though when it all came down to it. A stranger coming in to protect them, telling them to run, and then his brother trying to get back into the fight was a lot to decide how to handle and more so when there was a pissed-off bear to deal with.
Chade felt they should leave but his stupid brother was taking that out of the picture. Chade growled at the bear when it tried to hurt his brother and ran to bite at its front leg. Eyes looking up in round horror at the bear he’d bit into. A paw was coming down as it would flatten him and Chade let go to scramble away.
Chade ran to his brother to shove at him to get farther away from the bear, “we will just get in his way!” Besides, he had let another sibling die to save Ricin. If he’d let that happen there was no doubt who he prioritized over his brother and the stranger. Chade was grateful but Ricin had to live.

Expecting both to have gone, she could now fight without worry. Blood stained both her sword and her face. Not a pretty thing to see but the koi cared not as that was part of life, sometimes one had to do the dirty job. As the bear now focused on her, she retracted her katana, landing swiftly facing the beast. But seeing them still here she snarled. "I told you to leave." When the bear was about to attack them again Yaeume rushed and sliced her blade on the creature's face. Ir roared and Ume stood there she between the bear and the kids.

Ricin tries to do the right thing, to help the wolf that came to the brothers rescue. So, if he is doing the right thing, why is everyone mad at him? Chade looks really upset, even coming over to shove the lighter pup further away from the bear. His brother’s voice is angry, causing Ricin to flatten his ears and tuck his tail. Then the pink wolf also snarls at them, mad that the pups haven’t left yet. Crimson eyes fill with shame as Ricin moves away from the bear, realizing he is more a hinderance then helpful in this fight. He doesn’t want to leave the stranger to fight by herself so he finds a large maple tree to hide behind, out of the path of danger from now. Sad eyes peeking out to watch the rest of the fight.

Chade would feel the guilt for upsetting his brother so much later but the guilt will be far less than if he’d let his brother get killed. Chade did his best to look intimidating as he would back up to follow Ricin. The boy refused to take his eyes off the bear, snarling with hatred. The bear noticed them leaving and with a roar it tried to get around the pink wolf. Puppies were easier to kill than an adult and if it could grab a pup it could flee with some reward for its trouble. That was when the pink wolf slashed its face.
Chade felt a round of bold hate fill him at the bear wanting to hurt his brother. The boy was luckier than talent. He managed to run in, dodge a paw, and bite it. He didn’t have the skill needed to bite in a way to get a grip that would last any time to put pressure on but at least for sake of making a point he had done something. Truth be told if the bear’s face hadn’t ended up with a blade in it that would have likely turned out different. Seeing Ricin hidden Chade ran to get to the same hiding spot with a shout back to the unknown stranger, “Thanks!”

Her blade stood between the bear's face and the two pups, and as she expected it her sword pierced and produced a very bad gash into the bears facade. And that sealed the fight's outcome as the bear done of these wolves rushed out to the bushes, roars and growls of pain following the beat's departure. Done and with blood covering her face and other parts, looked back at the two pups. "Are you alright?" She asked with a plain expression.
She placed her weapon in the soil, and her dog sat by her side like the servant she was. Looking down to the younglings, she inspected them to ensure they weren't hurt.

Ricin hides behind the tree but he still stays close enough to watch the battle. Chade soon joins the lighter pup behind the tree and Ricin diverts his eyes away from his brother. He is too ashamed to look the darker pup as the lighter boy remembers the stinging hurt of his brother’s anger. The fight is over quickly, the beautiful wolf with the sword slashes into the bear’s face and the creature runs away. The roars of pain that follow the bear’s retreat last for a short time and the light hued pup steps out from his hiding place. With his tail tucked and head lowered, Ricin moves to stand a respectable distance in front the warrior wolf. Dipping his head even more, Ricin says, “Yes, I am fine. Thank you.”
When he looks up at the pretty wolf’s face, Ricin’s shame bleeds away and his tail starts to wag slowly. Happily, he adds, “All thanks you! You are amazing! And the sword is so cool! Where did you learn to fight like that?” His embarrassment is replaced with excitement as he questions the pink wolf. Almost as an afterthought, the light blue pup says, “My name’s Ricin! And that’s my brother Chade.” Sticking a paw in Chade’s direction, Ricin keeps his eyes on the warrior before him. All the sadness and humiliation are gone, replaced with a smile and enthusiasm.
