Sneak and you shall find

Rudyard chose the gods garden as where he and Fern would attempt to catch prey for the first time.  Rudy had the snare laying folded up across lying across the base of his neck as the two wolves made their way out there.  There was a time he would have suggested Cedar Falls but he wasn’t ready to readily go there yet.  The grey wolf had thought his life would end there and a part of him had seemingly died at that waterfall.  Fern was slowly bringing that dead part of him back to life bit by bit.

For now, the garden was good enough.  Finding a spot in some brush Rudy smashed the stake part of the snare into the ground.  The loop he put in a spot where the grass lay a little flatter to suggest animals frequently used it.  “We should be able to get some rabbit or deer, and that little snare can work well for either.”

He glanced from the snare to Fern, “remember, be careful of your shoulder.  This snare is to help us take it easy.  We will work on your hiding and stalking skills and hopefully chase something to where the snare is but no need to go overboard.”  Rudy scented the air, “There are deer out here.  Why don’t you find us one?”
