When it was finally time to pair off and settle into the first round of the spar, Grimshaw was quick to rise and look around the group that had gathered. Some others had gathered after him, though not many. He didn't recognize many of the wolves, just the few from the Armada that had showed their faces. Eager to fight someone that wasn't part of the Armada, he avoided eye contact with any of his pack mates that may have been looking his way. He wondered if he would see Malachai, but just the simple thought of that alone brought a bit of fear to him. After that night, what would happen if they sparred in front of everyone? Grimshaw wasn't so sure he exactly understood what the racing heart and fluttery feeling was, but finding out in the middle of a spar in front of everyone would ideally not be on his schedule today. With that, his silver eyes quickly settled on a spotted pink female and he wandered over. She seemed to be of equal size and strength, so Grimshaw figured this would be a pretty fair fight. Either he could win and maybe have a chance at winning the whole thing (but possible have to face Malachai if he was here), or he could lose and just cheer him on silently from the background. Grimshaw wasn't so sure which he wanted more, but the possibility to train against so many other wolves was an opportunity that he couldn't pass up.

Walking over to the female, he nodded. He didn't care much to know her name, only to get the spar started already, but he figured it would be rude otherwise. Grimshaw didn't particularly care, he had plenty of other things to worry about, but his mind was all over the place already. Might as well consider the feelings of someone else before he even stop to think deeper about his own feelings, right?

"I'm Grimshaw, want to fight?" He really didn't know how to start something like this, but starting sooner rather than later was better for him.

Smiling she watched the youngsters pair, it seemed cute and that warmed her heart seeing children's interested in fighting so young. Well it was time for her to find a pair, but isntead of being her who searched, the fight partner had found her instead. A yearling but near her size. Well, she didnt mind and of course she wouldn't be as harsh, she didnt like to play dirty, well she neer did unless her opponent started shit. But for now she would go easier than how she would do with others. Her dog stood by her side, but knowing her master could do well alone she stood to the side her katana was on the dog's jaws , not needing it either. And like that she ran toward the fellow dire wolf, aiming to go to the yearling's left and then slam her shoulder hard against his,while she attempted to hit him on the side of his neck with her left paw, but without her claws out. Grimshaw watched as the woman's dog took the blade that seemed similar to his brothers and stand off to the side, giving her the chance to ready herself and start if she'd like to. When she ran at him, she was very forward with her attack aiming just off to his left enough to attempt ramming her own shoulder into him at the same time as her paw came up to shove him in the neck as well. With them nearly shoulder to shoulder, Grim bared his sharpened teeth and reached to grab her scruff with enough strength to simply grab her as he would rotate his rear around until he was nearly facing the same direction as she. In the process, his left forepaw would raise and attempt to grab a hold of her, trying to keep his attacks coming from behind where it would be harder for her to retaliate.

As the fight began, as she aimed to slam her shoulder, the yearling went to bite on her scruff *her slam seemingly wasnt effective. Quickly she aimed to once again slam her shoulder into the male's aiming to do so on his open jaws, wanting to use his own momentum againts himself. Her claws also missed it seemed, and his own went over her. Opening her jaws she aimed to bite on his foreleg, hard but not excessively, just to have a hold and maybe make him release her. Ears low and scruff hackles high she aimed to jump up, aiming to get him off her. Her dog watched from the side.

She aimed to slam into his shoulder again, this time also into his open jaws causing even him some discomfort as her strong body collided with his mouth. Her teeth had somehow managed to make contact with a foreleg as he could feel the teeth scraping on his flesh just enough to cause a slight amount of discomfort. With them parallel to each other and rivaling in size, it was either let go or hold his ground. If he let go, there was still the matter of her holding onto his leg and keeping him close to prevent certain attacks. Instead of letting go intentionally, he continued to hold his grip and using it to bite through the pain on his leg. Being over her, he used as much of his weight as he could leaning over her with his neck, trying to direct as much of his strength into pushing her down.

She gave all she had without the use of her battle accessories, she didnt need them to win. But as such she had gotten the upper hand in this fight. It was good but she preferred more dynamic ones, real fights. Spars were of course important for one's development but she felt like this tournament wasnt the place for her. She had won but that didnt bring the pleasing feeling she was waiting for. "Thanks, see you." Or not. She then gave her companion indications of their departure from the tournament even if she had won. She had better things to do. And in a quiet disposition she left.
