Kotori was off hunting again and Grim was again the wolf he chose to invite along.  Kotori had thought of trying the mangroves but the scent of another cluster of boar in the area had changed the horned wolf's mind.  Kotori jogged along the path, head held high, using the scent on the wind instead of bothering with the ground scenting.  The brownish wolf was in high spirits and he was practically oozing confidence.

After a short jog, he slowed down, considering what was before them.  This wasn’t some small cluster but there had to be a good dozen or so boar that he could see.  Some of them showed to be battle-hardened with scars crisscrossed in areas but unfortunately not in spots necessarily going to slow them down like the legs.

Kotori glanced at Grimshaw then back to the group. “Do we want one of the smaller young ones,” Kotori mused, “Easier to get, or do want one of those big tuskers?  More dangerous, craftier but a lot more meat.” He was expecting Grim would want the large one but the choice was thrown out there.

Hunting with Kotori had become so regular for him now that he was beginning to rely on the other for companionship on the occasional hunt. Of course he still liked his alone time, but having someone to hunt the larger animals was nice. Like boar. They were difficult even in pairs with their tusks and massive size. He'd rather fight a big cat over a boar any day, unless it was the ever present group of boar that hung around the Armada digging up around their borders and destroying the land. Grimshaw didn't particularly like eating boar either, but he'd certainly kill it and leave it for something else to eat. Maybe leaving it's body behind to attract something bigger would be an interesting idea. They could get a panther or something and bring a nice pelt home instead of the hundreds of pounds of meat. Between the two of them alone, the armada would be fed well into the next season.

When Kotori asked about his opinion on hunting the smaller or larger boars, his silver eyes flicked between the two as he pondered. While targeting the smaller boars would eradicate more than just one fat one, grimshaw wondered if killing the lead male would help thin the population any. Without a big boar leading the group, would they scatter? "The big male. If we kill it, maybe the whole group will stay back from the borders." He said surely with a nod.

"Speech."

Grim didn’t care much for the boar around the pack land huh? In a way Kotori guessed he could understand that with the damage they did but at the same time it was meat close by and had a different sort of challenge to it than the deer did.  Kotori shrugged his shoulders, “Alright.”  He had expected a similar answer just for a different reason.

Kotori let out a small sigh considering the multiple ones.  “Alright, there’s a good number.  I’m going to work at scattering the pigs that we don’t want to hunt.  When there is more of an opening chase the big guy away if you can.” Kotori considered word choice and corrected himself, “As in if he’ll run, no idea if he will run or fight.  Once the other pigs show no intention of joining in I’ll help you take down our target.”

Kotori didn’t wait to ask if he agreed with the plan.  It wasn’t that he didn’t want to let Grimshaw have an opinion, it was simply they had done enough hunts together they tended to agree on a plan and Kotori saw no reason to wait for an assumed opinion.  The brown wolf charged towards the pigs, snarling and snapping at rumps.  It got a variety of reactions, a few quickly fled but one of the boars made a very un-prey-like sound and swung its tusks and came towards him.  Kotori snarled at it with no interest in a real fight at this one.  It wasn’t that he couldn’t fight it but Grim would want his help on the large guy.  Still, distracting this would be enough to let Grim separate the leader and then the meat would be theirs.

He wouldn't disagree with the plan and once Kotori had gone off to scatter the majority of the pigs, his eyes had flashed over at the aggressive squeal to make sure his partner was alright. When it seemed that Kotori had it handled, Grimshaw stalked off to look for the large male. It didn't take him long to find the massive male trotting around his group, trying to corral them at the same time as locate the problem. Grim saw the boar find Kotori and let out a quick bark to bring it's attention onto him instead. Snarling with his sharpened teeth bared, Grimshaw flagged his tail and bowed his chest slightly to launch towards the boar.

Once it started to charge for him, Grimshaw changed directions and began to lead the male away from the rest of the pigs slightly, just enough to stop the others from joining in. Hot on the heels of the swine, Grimshaw tore at it's ankles and shredded them as they ran, the boar squealing before skidding to a stop and aggressively swinging his head around. He managed to dodge the force of the tusk to any vital parts, but was still hit in the shoulder with the boars massive head, narrowly missing the point of its tusk. There would be deep bruising, but it didn't matter now. With the boar stopped, facing him head on and ready to charge, Grimshaw bit back the pain and tried to keep the boar at bay until Kotori could catch up.

"Speech."

Kotori had most of his attention on this boar that thought he was a tough guy but he heard Grim’s bark at the other pig.  The squeal from the swine was a bit farther off than it had been and Kotori spun about quickly, leaving his current pig to join Grimshaw into down the large brute.  

The boar had stopped running with the thought to fight and that worked fine for Kotori.  While it was primarily focused on Grim the horned wolf lowered his head and barreled into the pig’s shoulder, jabbing it with his horns and raking up.  He had seen the damage Grim had already done to its ankles.  Injuring its shoulder would help slow it all the more and make the fight easier for them both.  

The boar swung its attention to Kotori who carefully avoided the tasks but did snap at air near the pig, keeping its attention on him.  He didn’t need to explain, Grim should know he would get to be the one to do the final damage and kill it off.

Grimshaw waited for Kotori to arrive, standing across from the angry boar that was desperately searching for a way past even if it meant going through Grimshaw to get back to his group. When Kotori collided with the boar and used his own horns to damage it's shoulder by puncturing it and tearing upwards, Grim charged forward during the moment the boar was focused on the other wolf. With the boars neck exposed, Grim lunged with full force into the boar with open jaws. Pointed teeth tore into the flesh of the swine and he was quick to tear it from it's body, causing the animal to release a gurgling scream. Grimshaw spat the flesh and blood from his mouth before going in again, ending the life of the boar and hopefully jeopardizing the rest of the herd.
