never good enough

His heart was heavy, limbs leaden as he moved with a dejected purpose. He couldn't be in Tortuga anymore, he couldn't be where the power shifted more then the wind, ideals changed and their members thrown away like trash. He couldn't believe in it, couldn't be there anymore, he couldn't be there especially after what Secret had done and what had happened to her. So he had left, with scarcely a word to anyone except his sister and his children, hulking mass moving directly towards the boarders he had become fairly familiar with. Ever since his first meeting with the Sol he had felt quite drawn to her, to her ideals and her sense of justice. She had defended Secret, a wolf she barely knew when no one in Tortuga would do so. No one in his own pack, not even their alphas bothered to step up for her. Though he had once leaned towards the chaotic side and Tortuga had called towards him his sobering moment had been when he had become a dad. He no longer could be a part of a pack that couldn't look after his own children and family. Vi could stay there, she was strong and she had saved Kylar's butt enough ties that he trusted her to take care of herself but his children he was worried about, especially Maia. And so he had come back here... He had heard whispers of Jupiter's death match, it had occurred at some point between when he had buried his friend and when the Glaciem wolves had taken over. Somewhere in the back of his mind he had heard her howl and through whispers he had heard of her victory.
Massive paws would stop at the boarders as always, head held high as he surveyed the mangroves before him curiously. Would she let him join her ranks? Well there really was only one way to find out... Head would tip back, a solemn howl echoing forth before his jaws would close and he would allow his head to lower to a respectful level once more. It was all just a waiting game now. He knew that they might have their own issues, that they would be in a struggle with Amenti's old queen, but hopefully someone would come and speak with him. He felt that if nothing else that Jupiter should know of Secret's fate. From what he could tell one wolf had tortured her and then Kaios had put her out of her misery before fleeing. At least that was what he hoped had happened. The torn open body he had found had barely resembled the once life filled and playful female he had known and grown quite attached too. That image would haunt his mind for the rest of his life until he found that male who's scent he had found at her death bed.

He didn't have to wait long but the female who pushed her way out of the mangroves was not exactly the one who he had wanted to see. But he didn't let the disappointment show on his features, instead he dipped head head easily to the female. Anyone who greeted new comers at the boarders had to be of fairly high rank, that much he knew, and should be treated with respect. She seemed a bit war torn, missing her tail even though her pleasure in seeing him was still evident from the way her stump wiggled, but friendly enough none the less. Kylar wasn't exactly in the mood to be friendly but he would play nice none the less, this wasn't Tortuga after all... "Greetings Aria, I am Kylar Sovari former Reaker of Tortuga..." His voice was a low rumble, coming from somewhere deep in his chest. He allowed his former title and pack to sink in before he would speak further. A sigh escaped his lips as he tried to figure out what to say next. "I'm a friend of Jupiter's, I come with news of our mutual friend's death as well as to hopefully join hers and your pack." He had never really been much for beating around the bush and that much showed. Who broke up death news when first meeting someone? Well Ky of course...

Gaze was thrown downwards, hiding the flash of anger that might have appeared across his visage at her apologies. But he remained silent. As she introduced herself and offered to tell him more about Ludicael he forced a small smile. But before he could answer she was dismissed, Jupiter sweeping onto the scene and waiting for the other female to depart before speaking. He dipped his head deeply to the woman before him, making sure Aria was far enough away that they wouldn't be overheard before he would speak. "Secret has passed, murdered by some unknown slayer. I was in the packlands when it happened, she called for Kaios with her last breath..." He forced himself not to spit out the males name before drawing a deep breath. "But I hear congratulations are in order, it's good to see you alive and well Jupiter..." He said, his smile sincere this time as green gaze flicked to the female. If she wanted to share more about the death match then he would listen but if not he wouldn't press the matter.
"I came here hoping you might accept me into your pack, I can't be in Tortuga anymore, not after everything that has happened and how uncaring the leaders were..." He said, a bit of hope in his voice. He had never joined a lightly aligned pack before and it made him a bit uneasy... But he wanted to be where people cared for and protected each other, here seemed like the best place...
