Inoki!
The grumble was playful, and Halo smiled. A tight squeeze, but a squeeze this tight would keep them both warm and cozy for the evening. Really, she was grateful for the contact. She'd been on her own for so long that it was hard to pass up. Her tail wagged softly, waiting for Inoki to get settled in before hopping in to join her. A tight fit, but a cozy one. Halo was grateful to tuck herself away out of sight, her pale coat not attracting attention even in the low light. Inoki's much darker pelt would be harder to detect, and conceal them away comfortably in the night. This was safe. Delicately, she picked her way into the hollow. It was a tight fit, but in that, the tenderhearted girl found safety. Comfort. She curled up carefully with Inoki, tucking her face against her friend's shoulder. Carefully, Halo set her lavender down as well, leaving it by their heads. A little something to calm any resounding nerves from her travels, and the warmth of a new friend to keep the spring chill well and truly chased from her bones. "Thank you," her words were quiet, tucking in close to Inoki's side. "This is the first time I've really felt okay since I had to leave home." Halo's admission was even more quiet than her previous statement, a whisper as the sun went down around them. For the first time since having to walk away from everything she'd ever known, Halo would be able to sleep soundly. |
She smiled as Halo curled up against her, tucking her face against her shoulder, and Inoki wiggled around a bit to make sure they were both comfy in their respective positions. Her friend's fur was so soft, almost ridiculously so, and she couldn't help snuggling closer to get more of the warmth that radiated from her thick and fluffy coat. She wrapped a front leg around Halo's side as her friend began to speak softly, almost in a whisper, and initiated a gentle squeezing hug to comfort the other woman. "I'm glad to be able to provide that feeling for you." Her words were just as soft, not wanting to disturb the peace that was slowly beginning to settle over her.
Inoki wrapped her head around Halo's neck and shoulders, fully embracing her in a hug as she allowed her eyes to close, taking in a deep breath of air that smelled like lavender and Halo's unique smell. This would be the first time in a while that she slept curled up alongside another wolf in a very long time, and as she felt and heard her friend breathe Inoki decided it had been too long. The precious moments as two wolves slowly fell asleep next to each other was something she didn't have the words to describe, but it was one of her favourite things in the entire world. "I really needed this tonight. It was a good thing running into you today," she said softly, her words almost mumbled by the way her face was leaning into Halo's fur. |
They're soft and warm and comfortable, and she's grateful for it. Halo can settle and be comfortable, and she can simply... be. With her head quieted in the fog of lavender and comfort, and the small space warming between the two of them, Halo is at peace. Being at peace... it's strange, but she appreciates it. Leaving home was odd, but for now, she could rest. Sleep would come easily for once. It would wrap around her shoulders and settle her easily enough. She's curled into her inky friend, melting a bit. Comfortable and warm and safe. Safe with two of them here, rather than one. "I'm glad that I can be what you needed," the words are just as mumbled. A comfortable fog of drowsiness had settled in, and Halo was grateful for that too. |
A soft and gentle hum left Inoki's throat at Halo's words, already too comfortable where she lay pressed into the other woman's thick and fluffy pelt to open her eyes. If all nights could be spent like this then she would be a very happy wolf, but alas, she knew that once the next day began the two wolves would head off in their separate ways. It was a sad thought, but she would make sure to keep an eye out for Halo in the future, hoping it wouldn't be too long before they met up again. As for tonight? She'd make the most of it. "Sleep well, Halo," Inoki said softly, a happy sigh leaving her lips as she allowed herself to slowly drift off to sleep. |
