Kane had been asked to help one of the pack's newest healers begin her journey into the world of botany, medicines, and healing. It was an honor and excitement for the giant wolf to be asked to teach one of the younger members of the Hallows, especially in a subject so near and dear to his heart! He hadn't spent much one-on-one time with the young Adravendi girl, but he had seen her around the pack, happy and spirited, and he was eager to get their lessons started. He had spent a good bit of time considering where he would like them to start, and he arrived on one of the first lessons he'd learned as a pup growing up in his tribe: identifying herbs and their uses.

Making his way up to the lush gardens at the top of some hills just south of the Hallows, Kane gazed about the land. It was early morning, the autumn sun covering the gardens in bright, warm sunlight. He could see a plethora of helpful plants and herbs already and grinned; this was the perfect place to begin their lessons! Tipping his head back, Kane called for young Jane to meet him out at the gardens. Here, he'd show her a couple useful plants and they could gather some up to fill the pack's stores for the coming winter.

After a lot of time thinking, of considering, healing and botanist seemed like a nice thing she wanted to get herself into. After the raid, she had made her head, wanting to be both a huntress and a healer when she was free. But starting from no pre-knowledge about most things, she new that would take time. But luckily a packmate who matched her father's size agreed to help her with that. Excited to meet a new face but also to start this new trade, she was fast to follow after the long-fanged had called her to a nearby land to their parklands.

A big smiled remained on her grey lips, finding the huge brown wolf. Who she knew as Kane. Her tail wagged behind her euphorically. "Kane!" She greeted as she felt excited, too much excitement that she could barely control herself. "I am ready! Thank you for helping me today!" She couldn't hold her smile nor her happiness. This would be such a nice and fun day.

"The talking"

Kane didn't have to wait long before the sound of paws running across grass caught his attention. Turning to see the young Adravendi girl rushing up to him, all smiles, brought a jovial smile to the big brute's face as well. "Good morning, little dove!"he greeted the gray girl in his chipper tones, bowing his head politely to her as was his customs. A boisterous laugh echoed in the giant wolf's chest. "That's very good to hear! Because today, we're going to work on learning how to identify useful herbs and what they do for us. It's a basic lesson, but when you're gathering herbs, it's helpful to know which ones will heal and which ones will hurt." He gave Jane a moment to process what he had said as he led the way into the lush gardens. There were a number of plants and herbs that grew around the vast gardens and ruins, so though it seemed easy, this task would be challenging for someone so new to healing and medicine.

As the two wolves stood in the center of the gardens on a moss-covered cobblestone path, Kane reached into his satchel and pulled out two very different plants he'd already harvested while waiting for her. "Today, we are going to be looking for two particular plants, Jane." He held up a small sprig of tiny white flowers. "This is called boneset. You can identify it by its little clusters of white flowers and thick green vine they grow on." The next he held up was a stick with a few dark violet-blue berries on it. "These you might actually know. They are elderberries. While very tasty and delicious when cooked or covered in honey, they are also very nutritious and used in many medicines." Stashing the herbs away again, Kane gestured around the gardens. "Your job today is to find as many of these two plants as you can. They will be very useful to us in the winter, so we're going to stock up while we can. You'll be leading us, so go forth! If you have any questions, I'll be right here with you."

With that, Kane turned Jane loose to begin her search. She would need to find and identify the boneset and elderberries. Then when they had enough, he would tell her about what they did.

She felt joy and there was little she could do to hold it at all, but she didnt want to scare him away. She was aware she could be too intense sometimes, even if that wasnt her intention. She just loved to help and meet others, and the way she expressed it was through her gestures and words. "Great! I am all ears and eyes!" She could finally learn about plants and maybe in her greenhouse(she calls it hers but it belongs to everyone xd). Happy to no end she listened to all of what he wished to say. Siting down, she saw how he took two types of plants from his bag, and then close them to her.

"Boneset." She repeated, wanting to memorize it the best she could. "In what it can be used?" Her curiosity was flying above the roof. "Oooh, it looks delicious!" They always did. "I will!" And wasting no more time she began searching for them. "Kane? What is that thing you took these plants from?" She asked while she eyed the place.

She found then white flowers with vines beneath. "These ones!" She stated, while she approached the small bush. And right away she began thinking how to collect them without messing them up.

Kane would never find fault in the mirth and enthusiasm of the young. He remembered what it was like to be her age, eager to please and ready to prove himself to the world. Jane was ready to do the same, to hit the ground running and show the world what she could do. He wouldn't chastise her, he would encourage her, let her excitement blossom and bloom just like the flowers all around them. "That's the spirit!" he remarked with a hearty chuckle, then proceeded to follow behind Jane while she scoured the gardens looking for the herbs. She asked what boneset did and he chuckled again. "Now now, little dove, you're getting ahead of yourself. First we need to find the boneset."

And find boneset, she did! After a short time of searching around the gardens, Jane found the ivy-like vines growing along the sides of one of the ruined walls. "Well done, Jane!" he remarked, stepping closer to inspect the boneset with an approving smile. "Boneset is a delicate flower, so we want to be careful when we harvest it. Try to take the whole vine if you can. Luckily, nature has given us all the tools we need for that." Flashing a grin to her, he lifted his paw to show off his claws, then used one to carefully cut away the vine until a section of it fell out. He caught it and stowed it in his satchel, then stepped aside so Jane could try her paw at collecting the plant. "Boneset is useful for making medicines for respiratory illnesses, like colds and flus. But it's also good for body and muscle aches. A good herb to have on hand, especially in the winter when wolves are more likely to get sick."

Once Jane had collected enough boneset, Kane looked around the gardens some more. "All right, that's one plant down! The elderberries should be easy to find. They grow on large shrubby bushes, and their dark purple color sticks out from all the green."

"Oh yes!" She exclaimed with eyes placed over the larger wolf. He was as big as her dad, and being born in a family of large wolves, she never felt intimidated by bigger creatures. She never felt like her life was in danger, she barely did, so why should she be afraid? Besides family was around, and she could always rely on them in the case of her being unable to defend herself. Her brain worked on plans to collect the flowers, but at the end she couldn't think in a way so she looked at Kane. Perhaps he did know how to. He explained how it can be done. Vines first, and then the flower."That makes sense!" But surprise was major when she saw his claws being used for that. Her lower jaw dropped in amazement. That was sooo coool.

"So coool!!" And with them he was able to cut it off. And then it was her turn! Nervous yet with determination she lifted her own paw, trying to cut if off. But it was a bit hard, needing to press harder to be able to cut down through it. Finally she was able but not as clean. "Like this?" She collected as much as she was able. font "Alright!" Now the berries! Smiling broadly she began to search for them, and since she had seen them before it would be easier. Trotting around she sniffed until her nose caught the familiar scent. An small bush with the description Kane gave was there.
