Hanako was trying to be better mum, but she didn't know where to even start. She could barely recall her own mother, just the pale outline of her face, so it wasn't like she had anyone's example to follow. And Zee...well, she didn't want to go and bother the Queen when she likely had all sorts of important things to do. Probably, and certainly not because Hanako didn't want to admit she was lost like a lone fish in the open ocean.

Instead she paced back and forth outside the mouth of her little family's den, hoping one of her children happened by so she could casually spend some time with them. If she didn't know how to mum then...maybe she could be their friend? She was real good at that, only the most stuck up and stubborn could resist her- and even then it was simply a matter of time before she wriggled behind their defences.
