The Nightmare

It was evening again… and the night found Gavroche restless. The winged male could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he tossed and turned within his den. His eyes were closed, not quite daring to flick open to the real world, as nightmares plagued him. His whimpers fell in a rapid cadence from his lips and even now his fear scent lifted into the air of the den.
One of Gav's companions was in the den with him, gently trying to soothe the male as he struggled with the nightmares. James found he could not wake the wolf from them but at least tried to soothingly stroke the male's muzzle.
Finally, at long last, Gavroche opened his gaze and looked upon James. He was panting, his ears flipped back against his skull as he regained his bearings. He was still panting, however, and shivered as he lowered his gaze to his paws. What a strange and violent nightmare, he thought… a horrible nightmare. That's all it was.
"You going to be okay?" James asked.
"Y-yeah…" Gavroche shifted his gaze toward the mouth of the den. "Dreams can't hurt you after all..."

As his mate and alpha, Bellamy is allowed in any of Gavroche's threads regardless of how they are marked.

Perhaps night was becoming one of her favorite times to go out. Possibly, it was her cat's fault. He seemed to be more nocturnal and she couldn't just leave him during the day when he was napping. Having grown attached to the silky furred cat who now spouted horns just like hers, Celeste followed him toward the falls. The black-coated cat seemed particularly interested in some sort of rodent that scurried through the grass ahead of them. "Careful," she warned in her native language, knowing full well that cat really didn't understand her. Narrowing her aquamarine eyes as a strong scent of wolf and fear caught her attention, she paused. Before she could snag her cat, though he was nearly as tall as her, he had zoomed off to follow the rodent. Without care or notice to the winged being in the shadows of the den, her cat darted in to follow the rodent that scurried around into the depths. Racing to catch up, Celeste stopped at the entrance with a frown as her cat slipped around the pair to go further in. "My apologies if he frightened you. He's after a stupid rat," she said in her thick accent, lips wobbling into an apologetic smile. |
