These days Duchess was scarce both from the band and her duties. She preferred the alone time more than anything, even over the company of strangers. She had grown to resent the members of the band overtime, not that it was really justified on her part. She was quite delusional about just how those of the band felt about her and it was really her own ruin.

Coming to the falls, she scoped out her surroundings and decided it would be a good idea to dig the pit just over the stream. That way when she drove the prey in this direction they would jump over the water and fall straight into the pit. She had a net with her to cover up the hole afterwards, but for now just put rocks down to mark where she would be digging the pit.

"Duchess"

taking his time to discover the new lands he was in, kuroo wondered if perhaps raijin had even made it here before them. this place didn't seem all too large in comparison to iga, but yet he and his brother hadn't been able to find him or their cousins yet. distracted by his thoughts, kuroo wandered around the falls at a leisurely pace. after having found it, he had told usagi how wonderful it was. the way water splashed down the hillside and lit up in a dazzling gleam of colors at sunset. what took him by surprise was a purple and black-coated girl digging near a stream that shot off from the main pond. curious, one ear flicked in her direction as he paused to eye what she was doing. letting his head tilt to the side, he approached her with some caution. "you're not planning to drop a wolf in there are ya?" he asked in his thick accent, a smile tugging at his lips. "if not, want some help?" kuroo couldn't help but put on the charm of friendliness as his tail wagged gently behind him.

Duchess sighed lightly at the work that needed to be done, and she was definitely having a lazy day today. But she hadn't done her duties for the band as of recently so she knew she had to get them done and the band fed. Her head flicked in the direction of the voice that came over her, but she had a gentle smile in return. The company of a man would have made this much more fun, whether he just laid there and watched or helped instead. But it seemed like the later as he put out a little joke and then offered.

Duchess' happiness in his presence was entirely fake, and only in attempt to get the attention from him that she craved. "Better hope it's not you." She joked back almost flirty, though work needed to be done. "I have the stones laid out here to mark the pit, if you don't mind helping to dig first."

"Duchess"

her flirtatious response gave him a chuckle as he eyed her curiously. "i sure hope not, m'lady," kuroo responded with a bow of his head. keeping the smile on his lips, he watched her point to the rocks she had laid out for the pit she wanted dug. "good thing i'm strong," he said almost as flirtatiously as he moved over to one of the rocks. eyeing the size of the pit, he wondered how she would've gotten it dug all by herself. it was quite sizeable, but now that he was here, surely it wouldn't take too long. "i'm kuroo by the way," he mentioned as his paws began to dig down into the dirt.

She huffed a quiet laugh to his response declaring his strength, "It would appear so." She looked back down as she continued to dig, responding to his own intro, "Duchess." When they were done digging the pit she walked over in his direction, "Mind helping me out?" With a raise of her brow though she was well capable of herself.

Once out of the pit, she started dragging the net over the top so they could cover it before heading out on their hunt. She kicked some of the dirt they had earthed up over top of it and scattered a few leaves to top it off. It wouldn't have to be perfect since the prey probably wouldn't see it until after they jumped over the river. "Are you ready then?" She asked softly of the brute before going to head out to her tracking.

"Duchess"

kuroo nodded as he began digging into the pit she'd already started. "suitable name for you," he commented as they finished up digging the pit. the boy knew he wasn't flirting to get anything, it was just apart of his boyish charm. hopping from the hole he'd helped with, he watched as she pulled the net over and flung some dirt and leaves over to hide it. shrugging his shoulders, he helped finish up that part of the trap as well before glancing over to her. "whenever you are," kuroo said with a smirk as he set off into a quick trot behind her. it felt good to get his body moving after having dug so much lately. the idea of a good chase through the woods never ceased to excite him either.

Duchess strode through the forests with the brute's form at the corner of her eye. Yeah she acted like she was quite the treasure though she had never been rejected before. She was going through rough times now which is what lead her to behave in such a way in the presence of men, strangers or those that had given her the momentary attention before. Otherwise she was devoid of all other emotions. The brute probably would not have expected how she lived her life back with her band.

She wasn't really paying much attention to the task at hand, and didn't recognize the tracks or scent of the larger deer nearby. She was too worried thinking of other things and she was probably close to blowing their mission together. She was probably about to make a total fool of herself.

"Duchess"

focused on the task at hand, kuroo wandered at a lazy pace beside the girl. it was a nice, companionable silence that guided their way through the sparse trees. thoughts filtered in and out of his mind as his eyes drifted across the landscape. once or twice, he had felt the urge to ask her a question, but figured she was focused on the hunt. nearly distracted, he almost missed the scent of the deer up ahead. both ears flicked up as his gaze turned toward the direction of the scent. "there," he whispered as he bumped her shoulder softly. tossing his nose in the direction of the deer, kuroo picked up his pace. "i'll take this side and help you drive it back down to the pit," his words were quiet as he moved his chin back the other way to motion toward the path he would take. excited now to start the chase, kuroo took off an easy lope. making a wide berth around the large animal, he kept his attention on both prey and his hunting partner. waiting for her go ahead, he moved into position so they could chase it back to the pit.

Duchess was bummed when the male moved on with their task but she couldn't really blame him. As he mentioned the deer up ahead she sighed and moved forward with his plan.

Her expression was probably less than enthused as they took position, and it took her a moment to notice that he was waiting for her go ahead. When she looked up to see him looking at her, she dipped her head lightly and went to set out on the chase. Her thoughts of flirting and seducing him flew over her shoulder as she was losing interest from the run. Too bad for him she guessed, or maybe she was really regretting the loss.

"Duchess"

Finally, she had caught his sideways glance, waiting for the go-ahead. As their eyes met, he smirked and began making his way toward the large animal. Following suit of the girl, Kuroo made his way toward the deer with lips curled back. Letting his ears fall back, he watched as the animal noticed them and spooked. In a flurry of attempting to escape, Kuroo nipped in its direction as it tried to avoid the path they had set. Determined to keep the animal in line, he lunged toward the side to drive it back toward Duchess. Making sure to keep an eye on the forested area around them, he leaped over small branches and avoided any rocks. This was definitely going easier than he had imagined.

Duchess' steps were lazy forward and her mind was a little out of it. But she was able to focus enough to jump forward and keep the deer in line. The brute had a larger step so he was able to make up for the wobbly deer due to Duchess' lack of effort as they drove it forward towards their trap.

When they made it to the pit, Duchess put a little more strength in her run just to get the final few strides until the deer tripped and fell in. Duchess was quick to jump down into the pit after it and put it out of it's misery from it's broken legs. "I'll cut you a piece to take with you." She stated as an offer, it was only fair.

"Duchess"

They took the deer at an easy pace as Kuroo's paws hit the ground. The drum of his steps was music to his ears as he continued to keep the deer in line. Heading straight for the pit that lay out in front of it, he could feel the adrenaline zipping through him. As they neared it, he could feel hunger rumble in his belly. Ready to get a portion of the deer that stupidly tripped and fell into the trap, Kuroo smiled a bit bigger. Coming to a quick halt so he wouldn't also fall in, he watch Duchess hop down into the pit. Standing at the edge to wait while she ended the deer's life, he felt slightly impressed by her prowess. It wasn't often he found a female who didn't squirm over the idea of killing an animal. Her offer of him getting a piece caused him to raise a brow. "Oh, I would only assume," he retorted as he jumped into the pit finally to sort out what portion he would get.
