The weather was dreary and the humidity was sweltering. Rather than lazing about in his room, where the air was just as stifling as outside, the titan opted to put himself to work. There was a plot in the greenhouse that he had been neglecting, and in recent weeks (months?) he was certain that the weeds were getting out of control. So here he was, up to his elbows in soil. Many of the hardier herbs were unaffected, but there had been a few casualties. During the long night he hadn't done too much in the greenhouse, and afterwards he had set himself to work with restocking his personal stores and ignored the building further. Might as well start fresh, now that he was putting in the effort to uproot the weeds and cast aside the withered herbs that hadn't survived in his absence. The lamb's ear was doing just fine, and he intended to leave it be at the back of his little plot. It worked well as a minor bandage for scrapes and cuts, and he tended to favour its use with youngsters or those who weren't anticipated to be doing much physical activity in the coming days. His lavender plant was also thriving, even without his attendance for such a long time. Having been using so much of the oils to help with Laeta's joint pain, he wasn't about to cull a healthy plant. And of course, his cannabis plants had grown well enough without needing much attention from him. The weedy stalks had managed to grow tall enough that they nearly loomed over the titan himself. Dropping heavily onto his haunches, he set himself to the task of coming up with a list of new herbs to collect from the surrounding areas. He would need yarrow, for sure. Perhaps some meadowsweet as well. What was with the little white flowering plants that he found himself using so many of them lately? |

She had heard about the greenhouse by now of course. And curiosity had gotten the better of her. She had been granted a little plot to garden of her own, outside the caste but still within its walls. It was a hot day, and tilling the soil had been no easy work. She had only finished half the section when she decided to get a drink, and take a short break by exploring the greenhouse. It would be good to see what herbs the pack used, and what grew well in here. Having never heard of a greenhouse before coming here.
She entered the structure, glass glinting at her as she moved inside. There were rows of earth with various plots of herbs - and a stranger. A sparkling, colourful man working quietly on a patch of herbs. “Pardon me, Sir, are you a healer?” she asked, polite and curious.
He had been far too engrossed in his growing mental list of new herbs to get his paws on. The appearance of a stranger within the greenhouse went unnoticed until she spoke up, and his heavy skull whipped about to fix his eyes on her. Petite, and marked with all of the hues of a freshly lit fire. The giant blinked once, twice, at her, and shifted his bulk so he was resting on one hip facing the fae. He hesitated for a moment before he gave a curt nod of his head. The dark tip of his starry banned twitched lightly as he searched her delicate features to try and get a read on her angle. "I guess you could say that," the titan rumbled, and shrugged a heavy shoulder dismissively. "I know my way around a pharmacopeia and broken bones." he snorted with a sarcastic smile. "Why do you ask?" he offered up the question in return, though there was a great deal less suspicion in his tone than there used to be when he'd arrived here. By the look of things, the girl was quite a bit younger than himself, so perhaps she was looking for a jumping off point to build her own skills in the trade. |
