Ghoul

It had been so energising to spar with a complete stranger again, to figure out counters to their strikes on the fly and not know where they would go for next. Exhilarating only just began to describe the feeling. And that feeling, that was why he was back. He wanted to spar again with another wolf he didn't know. Admittedly his skills were a tad rusty from being on the move for a while, and going toe-to-toe with a predator just wasn't the same as a spar with a fellow wolf, but he'd work on that until he felt more confident in his skills again. Raylan rolled his shoulders back and let out a call for anyone who wanted to have a quick but friendly spar, or not so friendly if that was what they desired. He was pretty flexible in the terms of a fight. |

Fury built up inside the growing boy in a way he didn't understand. He was frustrated with yet another loss from that infuriating pipsqueak. How could he have let such a tiny pup best him? Powerful, big, strong, words he'd heard his mother describe him as. While not the tallest of the litter, Ghoul was surely the thickest and it was easy to tell by the shape of his stretching legs. Prowling quietly along the edges of the battlefield with ears pull back against his pale skull, his ruby eyes searched. He'd followed Medusa here one day and sparred with her. By the looks of the blood-stained ground, he could only assume this was where wolves went to fight. And a fight was what he needed. Quickly, his attention was turned to a call that rang out on the evening air. A shiver ran down his spine as he marched closer to the figure. A beefy figure with dark features and red markings stuck out from their brown surroundings. Even though his new opponent would surely be larger and stronger than him, Ghoul didn't care for the moment. He needed a way to release his angst and killing rabbits and raccoons wasn't going to cut it this time. With a rippling snarl shaking at his throat, the albino mottled pup charged up to the stranger. In one fell leap at the man, Ghoul launched himself with clawed gloved paws aiming right for his face. It was not long before a small wolf appeared, and Raylan spent a good few moments trying to figure out if they were simply small, or just young. He had no qualms about sparring with a child, but he would take it into account and make sure he wasn't too rough. Going around injuring children was not something he wanted following him around, as an angry parent was a sight to behold, but not one he wanted to be on the receiving end of. The wolf was barely half his height, but had a heavyset build, leaving him just as confused as to whether they were a child or not. He had just opened his mouth to speak when the smaller wolf charged at him, snarling wildly with strange glove-like clawed paws reached out. Raylan immediately set his weight back on his haunches, tucking his chin down to his chest and pinning his ears back. He would steady his stance to take the full impact of the leap head-on, given that the size difference between them meant he was unlikely to be shoved too far backwards. Not wanting to get the attack straight in his face however, he turned to the side, feeling the strange glove brush along the fur on his cheek with a brief sting of pain. Wasting no time at all, Raylan raised up on his hind legs, towering over the smaller wolf, aiming to grab them around the neck with his forelegs in a bear hug to stop them from darting out of his reach. He was slower, and so unless he wanted to play keep-away with his opponent, he needed to pin the smaller wolf down beneath him. A bit of confusion crossed his expression as he watched the older and larger wolf hold his ground. It wouldn't deter Ghoul from continuing his charge toward his opponent with front paws stretched straight out. Letting out as masculine of a growl as he could manage, the young pup felt his paws swipe across the man's cheek. Happy with his attack, Ghoul hit the ground as the other one raised up on his back paws. Watching the larger paws stretch out toward him as if to grab around his neck, Ghoul quickly ducked down with legs pressing his body toward the ground. He could feel the paws of the other swiping across the back of his neck, but the pup wasn't about to let his opponent get ahold of him. Reaching out with snapping puppy-like teeth, Ghoul aimed to duck under the other male and nip at his hind paws. The growl coming from the wolf was highly amusing, sounding a bit like a young lion cub trying to roar for the first time, and he couldn't help the rumble of a chuckle that escaped him. Perhaps this was a child after all, then, if they had to put so much effort into a growl. But the small wolf was fast, much faster than anticipated, and instead of feeling his own forelegs wrap around his opponents neck, Raylan grasped at air and wisps of fur on the other wolf's neck. The small wolf had gone and ducked out of his reach, and so as his front end came crashing down heavily upon the dirt Raylan tucked his chin down to look beneath him, a little confused as to where his opponent had gone. Looking a bit upside-down, he spotted the pink and white wolf by his hind legs, and it was only when he felt a needle-like blossom of pain in his hind paw did he realise what the wolf was doing. His ears pulled back against his skull at the sharp blossom of pain, and on instinct his leg lifted up to try and move out of reach of the sharp teeth. At the same time he wildly kicked his leg out behind him, more trying to get his delicate toes out of reach than to actually make an attack on the smaller wolf. After a moment of thought Raylan bent his legs and promptly moved to drop down into a partially crouched and partially laying down position, wondering if he could half-sit on the smaller wolf, or if they'd know what was happening and move out of the way in time. That would certainly keep the wolf from biting at his toes again. Raylan vs Ghoul for Spar Round 2/2 Age: Over 1 year Size: Extra large Build: Heavy Skills: Beginner Fighter & Beginner Navigator |
