Ulmaria bounded through the battlefield, excited to find other pups to spar. She liked sparring her siblings of course, and she hadn't sparred nearly all of them but it was particularly exciting to spar strangers. Álarr had taken a small group of Jupiter's pups to the battlefield for sparring practice. He followed along to observe or would send one of his companions along so that he could intervene if things got bad. Ulmaria was wandering a short ways away with Afi. She could see Álarr in the distance still and figured this was as good a spot as any to find a spar partner. She tipped back her head and called for an opponent just like Álarr had demonstrated to the group earlier.

Cooled ruby tones searched across the Battlefield for an opponent. Unlike how he felt toward wild animals, who were much more victims in his mind, other wolves were simply practice dummies to help hone his skills. Having gotten a taste of blood upon his liver-colored tongue, the burly splotched boy couldn't resist getting more. Prowling across packed dirt, now stained deep mahogany, the crunch of his paws felt loud compared to the silence of his surroundings. Stealth would not do in a place like this; devoid of shrubbery and trees, there was nowhere to hide. Not that he needed it, but sometimes the comfort of the shadows helped alleviate the tension spread across his shoulders. Feeling his muscles begin to tense beneath his skin, his ears flicked forward as the sound of a young but willing call. Pausing, Ghoul lifted his head until he could spy the dark-toned girl nearby. Taking that as an invitation to approach, he let his legs, thicker now after training and growth, bring him closer to her. She easily wreaked of other wolves and wondered silently to himself if she was alone. Still on the smaller size, she was younger than him and that was a first. Tilting his head gently, he glanced around as he stopped a few feet away from her. As his tail dropped between his ankles, he noticed a larger wolf not far off and presumed it might be the one keeping an eye on her. Turning his attention back to the girl before him, he let a stony expression slide over his face. "I'll accept your challenge," Ghoul responds with an ever-deepening rumbling one. Age would only do him good as time passed. Straightening his body out so that he faced her more head-on, he let his chin dip slightly. "Ladies first," he speaks as his ears begin to flatten and muscles bunch with anticipation.

Ulmaria danced on her paws, nervous energy and excitement flowing through her. Her companions rested by her side, much calmer about this whole affair than she was. Soon her call was answered by an older pup. He was pale with bright ruby eyes and was swift to accept her invitation. Mar's tail wagged rapidly as she faced off against the older boy but it soon slowed and tucked tightly between her legs as she focused on the boy. He gave the first move to her. With her hackles raised and ears pinned she darted forward. She strode head on at first but then slipped to her left seeking to nip the boy's right thigh. She'd learned the hard way that bigger pups could squish her. She hoped not to get squished this time.

No words were uttered from the girl's lips as she clearly accepted his response. Watching as her tail tucked between her legs and she sped toward him, Ghoul readied himself as he spread his paws slightly and lowered his face. Keeping his own tail tucked and ears flattened, he waited for her to get closer to him. While it appeared she would try to bash him head-on, Ghoul began to shift his weight away from her. Just as she was slipping toward the left with her teeth aimed back toward his thigh, Ghoul curled his chest toward her. Feeling the grip of her bite on the tender skin of his leg, he reached out with his own teeth to aim for the spot on her back right in front of the base of her tail. If successful, he would try to shuffle his own hind end away to get her to release his leg. Ulmaria bit onto the bigger boy's thigh, glad to have scored a hit. Before she could celebrate to much she felt the awful pinch of fangs on her back and she squeaked a growl at the pain but refused to let go. Hoping the zap from her electrocytes would make the boy let go first. Then she could spring away. However, as it was she'd just have to stay put as she didn't have the strength or size to forcefully pull away so instead she tried to bite down harder, hoping that combined with her defensive mutation would get him to release her long enough to get away. In hindsight maybe getting a hold on bigger wolves was a bad idea. While she got to score a more serious hit she was a sitting duck after the fact.

The moment his teeth pierced into the skin above her tail, he thought he would be pleased. Even as pain seared up his leg from her teeth that dug in deeper, a sudden jolt made a whimper course through his throat. As if he had touched an electric fence, the pale boy releases his grasp with a shake of his face. What in the world was wrong with her? It took only half a second for the fizzling sensation to leave him. Not that it had hurt necessarily, but it sure did surprise him. Scrunching his brow as the smaller girl clung to his leg, he twisted around to glare at her. Annoyed and slightly furious, Ghoul raised a paw to try and swat at her face to force her to let go.
