Today is the day! Today, the pups get to explore and find out what the world outside the den looks like! Not that, Kore has been looking forward to it or anything. Cracking his eyes open, the purple boy loks at the ceiling of the den, enjoying his upside-down view of the world for a moment. Letting out a huge yawn, Kore stretchs as far as he can, reaching his paws straight out until they won’t go any further. As much as the purple nebula boy loves the den and their auntie, he longs to see the world beyond their door. Once his stretch is complete, Kore rolls up onto his paws, bounding excitedly over to his brother and sister. Happily, Kore exclaims, “Ao! Kal! Come on! We have so much to do!” He bounces around, eager to be outside, his paws accidently stepping on his siblings every now and again. Tail wags enthusiastically as he nudges Kal to move faster before turning toward the den opening and starting to run. Over his shoulder, Kore shouts, “Last one out is a rotten egg!” right before crossing the threshold.

Sunlight blinds the pup for a moment and his legs tangle sending him sprawling into the dirt. The warmth of the day wraps itself around Kore and he can’t help but smile. Even with his face in the dirt, nothing can dampen the nebula boy’s spirits.


"Kore Regni"

They were told yesterday that this morning they would be allowed to explore for the first time outside. Aoede was so excited that she wasn’t sure she could sleep that night, but her little puppy body needed its rest and eventually the girl fell fast asleep. Curled next to the only woman she would ever know as a mother, Auntie Motif was the perfect pillow for a good night’s sleep. It wasn’t until the sunrise that she started to stir, and she wasn’t even the first one to wake up.

Ao felt the movements of her brother as he stretched and slowly woke up. She blinked open dreamy eyes to find Kore already yawning. Her glowing speckles faded with the intensity of the sun and dulled with her drowsiness. She heaved a heavy sigh as Kore, all too wakeful, announced his eager excitement about what day it was and rushed the last of Ao’s sleepiness from her mind. Her brother was awake and already jumping around, and he was becoming infectious.

The girl lifted herself from her paws, and with a quick nuzzle given to her auntie she paced after Kore as he raced out the entrance. Aoede had never experienced a rotten egg before, but she definitely didn’t want to be one. Tiny black paws pattered against the dirt as she ran hot on her brother’s heels. He went sprawling in front of her, and the clumsy pup only just barely leapt over him to avoid eating the dust herself.

"Aoede Regni"

Kal was busy dreaming of fuzzy puppy dreams that were mixed of emotions, shapes, and scents that had no names at the moment.  There was a sense of running with no notion of the surroundings other than acceptance they existed.  Adventure around every fuzzy corner.  Treasures found to be excited over with no idea of what he found.

A vicious predator attacked him and his eyes jerked open as something had clearly attacked him!! Wait, that hadn’t been an enemy, it had been his brother's foot.  That realization came as his brother hops onto his side.  Kal lifted up half his body with a moody notion of snapping at his brother but then there’s Kore nudging at him.  Kal swat’s at his brother’s forehead with a paw. “I’m up, I’m up.”

A second later realization hit of what the excitement was for.  They would see the world today!  Kal leaped up to his feet and ran to catch up.  The future mighty warrior left the den and made a great leap to fly over where Kore lay in the dirt.  Too bad he misjudged his aim and instead landed on top of Kore with an ‘oof.’  “Hey, Kore, you got in the way.”  Clearly, it wasn’t that he’d misjudged his brother’s size or his timing on when to jump.


"Speech"

Aoede is hot on Kore’s heels and, when goes sprawling, the galaxy boy watches in awe as his nimble sister leaps over him. With a smile, Kore pushes off the ground in an attempt to get up while saying, “That was amaz…” However, the purple pup doesn’t get to finish his sentence or his effort to get out of the dirt as Kaylke’s dark blue form lands on top of the galaxy boy and squishes him even further into the dirt. Kal’s words are meant with a glare as Kore wiggles to get out from under his brother’s big butt. Huffing, the galaxy glad pup says, “Yeah, well, sis was able to clear me just fine. Maybe you should learn how to jump better.” His tone is teasing and light, there is no anger to found in him today. How could he be mad out here? When Kal decides to get off him, Kore will stand and give his brother’s ear a loving swat before moving to join their starry-pelted sister. Looking over his siblings, Kore asks, “What should we do first?” The boy is ready to follow and protect them while also having as much fun as possible.

Ao was trying not to fall over her own dark paws as she landed on the other side of her brother and stumbled. Definitely didn’t stick the landing. Once she caught herself she was very nearly bowled over by bother brother’s colliding. She was no master of her paws yet but she had all the grace her siblings didn’t get. They were only just out of the den anyway, she was doing well so far, even Kore was impressed.

She went to help them both to their paws. They bantered good naturedly with each other and she smiled amusedly along with them. Kore straightened himself and asked the other two what they should do first. Ao wasn’t really sure. There wasn’t an end to new sights to see and smells to inhale. "What are those?” She pointed out over the knolls towards the herd of buffalo that could only just be made out at this distance.


"Aoede Regni"

Kore gave his brother a scoffing look, standing up as Ao came over, tail wagging at her.  At least one of them had a good balance.  He glanced back at Kore and stuck his tongue out, “maybe I jumped just how I wanted to.” Yup, tripping over Kore was a dastardly plan clearly.

At Aoede’s question, he looked out in the direction of the funny things.  “Dunno, but they must be really big!”  They were far off, really far from a pup’s point of view, and yet still viewable from here.  It only took a moment longer before he grinned at his sister, “Why don’t we go see!”  The trip to the creatures would be just as fun as getting close to them.  There was all this land between them and the funny animals.  There could be other cool smaller things to check out on the way.

“Kore?” He glanced to his brother, “You wanna come with us right?” Glancing back at Aoede grinning as if a smile in itself should be enough to charm her into agreeing as well.

"Speech"

Ao is there to help the clumsy boys back onto their paws and the galaxy pup gives her a huge grin. Meanwhile, Kal earns himself a glare as Kore shakes out his coat, sticking his own tongue out in reply to his brother’s words. Just when he is about to give Kalyke a witty remark, Aoede asks a question that has both boys turning to look out over the distance. His ice-kissed brother is already talking and Kore offers them both a smile. Kal wants to go see what they are and the galaxy pup looks to his sister, a mischievous smile playing across his lips as an idea takes shape.

Purple legs move to get close to his brother as he gives Ao a playful wink. When all three siblings are near each other, Kore says, “Alright let’s go check em out but let’s see who is the fastest! When I say go, we race. Last one to the creatures has to get us food! Okay?” The nebula boy turns to face their intended destination, signaling the other two pups to fall inline next to him. Once they are all in position, Kore nods and prepares to run. He shouts, “GO!” and takes off as fast as small paws can carry him.
