Since arriving to this place, tracking Hattori and the other koi wolves he’d assumingly recruited, Usagi experienced constant rain. Mire rain than he’d ever had seen in his life. Back in his homeland, it surely rained, but it was also quite mild - not too hot, not too cold, just somewhere in the middle that provided the perfect environment to fight and..to hunt. He couldn’t say he was as skilled of a hunter as his brother, Kuroo, but he was decent enough. Just enough to track something, kill it, and call it a meal and a day. He’d done it over and over again, but his passion for fighting and sparring far outwon anything he’d felt for hunting. It was, for him, a tedious activity. A boring one. Yet so necessary he couldn’t deny it required his attention more than he’d like. After all, there was now a collective band - close enough to a pack, was it not? - and pack members needed food. It was time he provided for more than himself and his brother, but for all the others he had yet to meet. Normally, he didn’t care much for social interaction, mostly due to his sour attitude and a scowling face, but since the majority of these members were koi wolves, he felt a bit more at home. His target was a nice, well-built deer, grazing on some foliage and paying no mind to the constant torrent of rain. Though the weather, damp as his personality, was poor and affected the ability to track prey well, he’d managed to spot this gem right in the middle of a grassy clearing. He crouched down to watch it at a safe distance where it wouldn’t spook, and found himself wondering if a fellow band member would come join him in the hunt. |

Rain was pretty frequent in this new land she now called home, well temporary home sounded better. Herself wasnt too used this amount of rain, almost everyday a heavy rain fell over, soaking her wet. Iga wasnt this humid, more around the medium intensity. But as a samurai, she knew she had to get used and adapt to this new climate. To perhaps learn new tactics for the situation in which she may could fight in this conditions. But fighting today wasnt on the list of duties she was planning on doing. Hunting had been as important out lately. She had put on herself the task of feeding her fellow travelers. Using her own skills and weapons to do so.
Ears turning around, nose tracking and eyes fixated into the surroundings, lurking for anything she could kill for food. But as she made her way, she found someone there. Name yet to learn but certainly part of her group. "Need some help?" She stepped beside him, eyeing the deer.

Through his intent watching of the deer as it grazed through the torrential downpour, the male still managed to pick up a voice from behind him. Cold moss eyes still cautious of the herbivore in his sights, he briefly glanced at the woman he hadn’t yet met formally. She had the scent of the band on her, and clearly of koi heritage with mottled fur of various pinks and reds. She was also much taller and bulkier, which would work well for tag-teaming on a larger deer. Not that he wasn’t capable on his own, but it’d be foolish to expend so much energy wrangling a deer by himself when he could work with a band member. Even if he wasn’t particularly social nor approachable in his mannerisms. He remained neutral, voice monotonous but low so as to not spook the deer as he replied to her, "Wouldn’t mind some help. I can try and corner it in those bushes, and then we can strike it down from there." He nodded towards a large pile of shadowy brush beneath the trees, a decent place to trap a deer for an imminent attack. If this woman agreed to his plan, he’d crouch and loom closer towards the deer. If she was ready herself, he’d race out of his spot and chase the prey animal towards the brush, giving a wide berth as he managed to get it closer to the targeted spot but giving his fellow band member a chance to strike at it and corner it too. |

Her eyes travelled from the smaller wolf to the prey in question, big enough to feed the band for a good amount of time. Maybe they could use the rain on their favor, being it this loud, might would help mask both heir approach and their scent. Her tactical mind began testing the potential scenarios, plans and how they would work with the two of them. He was small and quick, she heavy but with claws to use. But being one to consider other's ideas her ear switched to the side, to hear the male's idea. Her mind remained serene, focused on the task ahead. One that would be effective with coordinated attacks, suing both of their advantages. He was smart, she had to admit it, no surprise coming from a koi wolf. Not like she was saying none koi wolves were dumber, but she just had the idea of him also being trained for this. "I can hide there, you drive the prey to those bushes were ill be waiting. And when it is close enough ill jump over it and then we can kill it between ourselves." She suggested in a very low voice to avoid their prey to hear them. And like such she would in total quietness hide behind the bushes, tall enough to hide her big stature, knelt and waiting for her partner to do his part.

Usagi didn’t show it, but he appreciated the larger woman’s collected and calm mannerisms. She wasn’t too upbeat and overly energetic, and didn’t get on his nerves like other wolves he’d met. She’d make a good hunting partner in the future as well, he noted mentally. As she mentioned she would hide in one area while he went ahead to corner the deer, he nodded promptly, allowing her time to quickly settle in her spot. He was impressed at her silent steps as he crept towards the deer, barely hearing the pink she-wolf behind him. At last, he broke from his crawl and sprinted forward, the deer perking up and instinctively galloping away. He made swift, sharp pivots - leaping on each side of the running prey and snapping at its heels to make it run into the prickled brush he’d mentioned earlier. Sesning his partner was experienced in hunting as well, he managed to corner the panicked animal into the nest of sharp, gnarled branches, focusing on getting it in the right spot. "Now!" He called out, ensuring the prey wouldn’t get away as the woman would make her attack. |

Hidden and ready she waited for her hunting partner to both drive the prey towards her and give her the signal to launch. Coordination was key here, ears up and eyes focused she was there to pounce at the say. She could hear the scared calls from the deer, running as it seemed from the hooves hitting the glass. Her leg muscles were ready, ears pinned as she waited for the right moment, not moving until Usagi said so. And as soon as he did, like a lion would do he jumped forward, paws stretched with claws out of their pockets, landing on the the back near the neck. Talons dug indeep, making it harder to get off her. jaws clamped into the upper neck, not letting go. Then she aimed to use her weight to make the ungulate fall to its side, and wasting no time she bits hard into the base of the skull, wanting to suffocate it, wondering if Usagi wished to help her deliver the killing blow. This was nice, she couldn't recall when was the last time she took part of such a nice and efficient hunt. This wolf seemed good enough to join forces with in future hunts.

Nice and efficient hunt, it was. As Usagi called out his cue, the pink splotched woman launched towards the deer, claws unsheathed. He hadn’t seen claws quite like thise before, but at the same time the hunt was no place to observe anything except aiming for the kill. As the woman sank her teeth into the base of the deer’s skull, it brayed out in a feeble cry, but its voice would soon cut out to silence as Usagi took the chance to sink his teeth into the deer’s neck on the other side. It took barely a few seconds for the animal to fall limp, their cooperation having put it down and provided a meal for the band. Having never really hunted with anyone besides Kuroo, he had to admit it was interesting to see the differences in others’ hunting methods - though he wouldn’t admit that out loud, as closed-off and cold-shouldered as he was. Releasing his grip off their fresh kill, licking the blood from his lips, he glanced to the larger she-wolf with expressionless eyes. He didn’t show a wide range to begin with, but yet there held a glimmer of gratitude for her help. "Thanks for helping me. I”m sure we’ll be able to feed quite a few wolves with this one," He said, nodding towards the animal. It was quite massive, and no doubt would provide a lot of nourishment.

Her bloody stained face smirked in success, feeling her pink hairs sticky from the red substance, well she would clean that off later on, now she wanted to help Usagi carry the meat back to where their kin were resting. She gave her partner a soft smile, after enjoying their hunt. He had proven to be a capable hunter, skilled and willing to work with others coordinately. That was hard to find these days, and she could rest knowing within the band she had found one. "A pleasure dear." She said flirty but not for real, just some humor. Returning to the actual thing, she would place her jaws around the hide of and skin it in parts and using the skin stripes to place the meat she was slowly processing, in easier to carry packages lending a few to Usagi. "We are done, unless you wanna keep something else out of the corpse we can leave the rest here." She suggested as she place the bags on her back along with Tsurume's. And like that she attempted to go back, still covered in blood. -Exit unless stopped-
