Lump On A Log

The morning came and as everyone started leaving the den, Cerberus did not. He was the first one to heal from the illness, and he had spent just a little time with his new half sibling before the incident with Viper happened. And since then he had stayed in the den all day every day. Or maybe not as of late. He had ventured out into the farther territories, out from the pack lands. It was probably the worst thing he had ever done, not that it was much. Some sort of inner rebellion maybe, but none that would cause him to run away or even really get into trouble.
Today was one of those normal no leaving the den days however. And it felt like both morning had just sprung and he had also laid here for hours. Time never went through his mind properly on days like this, just how everyone else ran their days along with Siren, Dalila, or Chimera checking on him throughout. He had become a lump on a log, and there was no way of hiding it from anyone.

Her mother had been so busy lately running the pack and all that and she was specifically told not to bother her father so that left her wandering alone through the compound that the Klein family shared. Occasionally she'd spend some time with Aunt Siren or Aunt Aliana or even Scylla or Albion... Today though they all seemed to be somewhere else. Well, Aunt Ali was pretty easy to find right now, but she had so many puppies and they were all so small and she didn't want to be the one to accidentally hurt one of them while she was playing so she stayed far away from their room right now. Maybe once the boys were a little bigger she'd try playing with them, but definitely not right now! She wandered the halls with a sigh, looking for something to do.
She passed by Cerberus' room, expecting him to be gone too, but she paused when she realized his scent was still strong and fresh through the cracked door. She hadn't spent a lot of time with her half brother, but she still liked him, of course. How could she not? He was her brother and therefore she had to like him. She nudged her way through the door, slipping into the room and running over to the edge of the bed so she could hop up and put her paws on the edge. "Cer-bus!" she exclaimed with a grin, struggling a bit with the pronunciation, but not missing a beat regardless. "Do you wanna go play? Or go on a adventure?"

Cerberus didn't move as Rusalka entered the room, his eyes only moving to look at her as she came to view. It hurt him deeply that he didn't want to jump up to be at her side, but he just couldn't muster the energy to do so. His jaw pushed his head up off the bed as he spoke, "I'm sorry Ruse, I want to but I'm just not feeling well." But as he looked at his sister's almost playful form, he just felt this strange urge to get up out of bed to be with her. With a sigh, wobbly paws pulled him up off the bed before carefully stepping down to be next to her. "I guess a walk won't be so bad." Given his weaker form from laying in bed all these weeks, a walk was probably a good place to start. He didn't expect anything more than that, though he wasn't quite aware that his sister might have been keen on finding ways to get into trouble.

When Cerberus told her that he wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t go on her adventure even though he wanted to, her smile faded and she visibly drooped. It didn’t seem like there was anyone to hang out with or do stuff with today. "Okay,” she said dejectedly, getting down from the edge of the bed and starting to turn toward the door.
Her ears perked when she heard him sigh and start to get up behind her and she stopped, turning back around to see him stepping down off the bed. Her expression brighten back up with a big smile when he eventually agreed with a walk, her tail wagging eagerly behind her. "Okay! I’d like a walk too!” Really, she’d like to do much more than a walk, but she’d certainly take that if that was the only option. At this point she was just happy that her brother was getting up and doing stuff with her at all.
"Come on, Cer-bus! Let’s go!” she said eagerly, bouncing around his feet before heading toward the door, pushing it open more for Cerberus to follow. "Let’s go to the beach! I love the waves,” she told him, trying to make herself stay walking beside him, but occasionally bounding ahead when she decided he was going too slow.
