Avacyn gave a thoughtful hum as she made a pile of pieces of metal that she had collected in a bowl. Around the mountains that made up the island they lived on she had been able to find some deposits of metal and chiseled them out of the rock, making a nice little collection of materials over time to add to the workshop that her father had helped her set up. Her mother had helped her with her armor and though it was still a work in progress it was certainly taking shape. The individual scales of metal all across the cuirass were taking a long time to attach to the base of it and she was being really picky about the color of metals she was using so that was probably adding a good bit of time to the production time as well. Hopefully the weapon she had in mind wouldn't take nearly as long, but first she needed a better look at her inspiration.

She left the materials on the stone ledge she used as a table in her workshop and walked out into the main chamber of the cave system her family used as their dens. She peeked through the individual caves a bit looking for her father and when she didn't find him there she stepped outside and started looking for him there. It was still fairly early in the day, maybe a couple of hours till noon, so she wasn't sure if he'd be on the island still or if he would have gone out hunting or on a patrol by now, but she couldn't continue her work until she found him so it was worth looking for him at least.

Luck was on her side though and when she went down from the caves to look around by the lake she found him quickly enough. With a smile she walked over to where he was standing and tipped her head up to kiss his cheek. "Daddy, do you have your fang covers with you? Or are they in the den?" she asked curiously, peeking at his muzzle. She hadn't gotten an up close look at the serrated, steel caps that her father wore on his teeth before and she wanted to make sure she got it right when she started crafting her own.

Alastor dipped his muzzle into the cool water of Alias Lake, drawing in a long drink to soothe his parched throat. The island was quiet this morning, the day warm, yet mild compared to the other parts of Boreas in the summer. Many of the other Mendaciums, his wife included, had already set about their daily tasks of patrols, hunts, and supply gathering for the newly founded pack. Today, he'd intended to go gather some supplies for an idea that Manea and Irilyth had to build a bridge across to the mainland whenever the high tide cut off the land bridge between Alias and the rest of Boreas. They'd need some sturdy wood to make planks, something buoyant, and rope, lots of rope. He still didn't know what the little crafty fae had in mind, but Manea supported her innovation, so Alastor just did as he was told.

However, as he finished getting his drink, he heard paws approaching him and lifted his head to glance back and meet the matching obsidian gaze of his beloved daughter with an affectionate smile. He happily leaned his head down to receive her kiss to his cheek while he nuzzled her forehead in return. "There's my precious moonbeam! Good morning, princess," he said with a chuckle. She asked about his fang caps while gazing at his stocky muzzle and Alastor flashed his teeth in his characteristic smile, revealing his au natural pearly fangs. "Nope, sorry, my little star. They're back up in the den. But I can get them out for you." Alastor didn't mind delaying his work for a bit to help his daughter with whatever she needed. He would have stopped the world from turning if she'd asked him to.

Alastor led Avacyn back up the path toward their mountain den, walking the familiar path up the side of the rocky cliff face with heavy paws. He glanced down at his daughter who was growing more and more by the day, now very nearly at his shoulder height and clearly demonstrating so many of the traits of her mouther as well as some of his better qualities. Thank the gods and devils his children hadn't inherited his madness. "So what do you need my fang caps for, my galaxy?" he asked, his curiosity piqued as they returned to the den and stepped inside, heading into the far back where he and Manea's personal bedchambers were. He walked across the spacious den over to a ledge in the wall, grabbing the polished steel serrated fang caps and bringing them back over to Avacyn to deposit them carefully into her paws. "Be extra careful, sweetheart. They're sharp and jagged."
