The Gates Have Opened!

The noisy atmosphere of a carnival, complete with the savory smells of fried foods and the gleeful shouts of pups as they raced around to check out the different games and rides (there was an actual log-flume ride made out of actual logs that were being picked up by an elephant and placed back at the top to make the ride down again! and a second elephant was pushing an old human motorboat attached to an a-frame back and forth to the delight of its passengers!) was the last thing one might have expected to find in the flower-strewn grasses, but there it was. Advertisements had been going out for a week prior, via a veritable horde of magpies, so wolves had come from all across both continents.
Everywhere you turned you found a coydog running a booth, for a game, for fried food, for face painting, for just about everything. Nitro and his gang of con artist coydogs had moved up in the world since they'd last been here, that was for sure.
The blue-eyed coydog himself, with his black-brindled cream fur now accented by a gold tooth peeking out from under his lip, stood by the gate handing out admittance bracelets to all those who entered. Some bracelets were general admittance, but there were beads slipped on in one of two colors for those who were signing up for races and fights. Oh, yes, it was a good day for Nitro and his gang...
