Things had been strange, settling in at home. When the word came for the carnival... well, Hattori said that they could come and go as they pleased. The healer slipped away from the Bamboo Maze, intending to be back well before anyone needed her. On swift paws, she made her way through the various shady areas along the way north. The sun was hard on her eyes, but it would be worth it. If there was a festival, she needed to see it. She needed to experience it. It would be a means of getting back to normal. Gin needed some kind of normal in her life. Besides, there had to be someone here who could tell their stories.

The first thing to catch her attention, though, is the commotion of games. Games... well, why not? The girl carefully helped herself to one of the rings, testing the weight. Her gaze flickered to the posts that littered the area before them, and the rings that seemed to be scattered everywhere. It seemed that not everyone had been lucky today. Anyway, she could hope. With a smile, she gave a toss and figured she'd let her luck take over.

Halo had been busy lately-- hard at work sorting out checkups for the entire pack. The warriors would be the biggest task by far, she realized. There were so many of them. Maybe she could take a quick break... okay. A quick break it is, then. The carnival seemed to pose the perfect opportunity to do just that. She hadn't been this far west yet, but it really was quite nice. Halo resolved that she'd be back on another day, one where she could take the time to look among the ferns for any herbs growing here. The grass was lush and green, and there had to be wonderful things hiding among it.

The tent that drew her in was a ring toss of sorts. A game! Halo wasn't sure how she'd do with games, but well, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. With her gaze as keen as could be, Halo took the ring in her grasp and gave it a firm toss. All she could do was her best, after all.

Ah, a carnival! What fun! What excitement! Alastor loved the festivities that came along with the fair, the brightly painted stalls and tents, the colorful characters behind each booth trying to sway passers-by to come give their custom! The giant black dire wolf wore a large grin on his face while he stroke through the rows of stalls with Manea at his side, taking in the sights, the sounds, the smells. Oh, it was all so much fun! A black coydog from a nearby stall bearing just as many scars as he did caught his attention, stepping up to the booth with his wife while he studied the game she peddled. Throw a ring around a stick? Seemed easy enough. "I'll play your game, my fellow melanistic canine!" he said, snatching up one of the rings in his teeth and giving it a hurl towards the field of sticks.

The carnival... it was overwhelming. There was so much going on. Ivy couldn't really make asses or elbows of it, but he was happy to come along for the ride. Er, for the walk. And it was nice spending time with dad, especially because they'd been doing so much with pops lately. He was doing his best to look confident in spite of all of the noise and activity, but some things were easier said than done. A game of skill-- he had skills. He had skills and he could be the best at using them too! With a glance shot at Jupiter, and then back at the coydog, Ivy raced to give it a shot for himself. Tail wagging, the child lifted one of the rings. Okay, right, he could do this. Of course he could! Lining himself up to one of the stakes set into the ground, he gave it a toss. It was pretty satisfying, actually. Ivy grinned to himself as he watched it fly through the air, at least in the right direction. Would he score, though? He had to... right? Yeah, he had to. If he missed, well, Ivy could hope that dad wouldn't see it.

Kichi was going to enjoy the tournament with Relm.  The two of them both had similar ideas of what made for a fun fight and hopefully, they’d be put up against a pair with similar plans.  Fights were more fun if both sides enjoyed spilling blood.

Kichi made his way to the ring toss, a thoughtful look to it before getting in line.  The grey wolf wasn’t that much for social activities but the fight was worth it and standing in line to win a prize might be worth it?  His gaze went to those leaving, trying to get an idea of what prizes were being offered out.

Once it was his turn Kichi stepped up and grabbed a ring.  He didn’t bother with a preamble of talking or showing off in taking aim.  The ring was tossed and he watched neutrally to see if he’d get something for this or not.  It was a way to pass the time so he wasn’t too worried about the result.

It wasn't often that Irilyth got to leave the pack lands unless it was for an errand to collect herbs or something for her Mistress and Master, but with the announcement of the arriving carnival, Manea and Alastor had given all Elysium wolves free rein to go have fun. The tiny blonde fae slunk through the crowds after her employers, sticking close to them inc are they needed anything from her while also checking out the stalls and booths for herself. Manea and Alastor had both stepped aside to play a ring toss game and while Irilyth watched, the coydog carnie offered her a ring to play as well. Despite her initial reluctance, Iri stepped up to the booth and lifted the ring, testing its heft in her jaws before throwing it towards the wooden stakes.

Macabre was like a kid in a candy store at this carnival. Ever since his mother gave him and his siblings permission to enjoy the festivities (within reason - but since when did Mac care for such boundaries), the speckled child had slipped through her watchful gaze to find some entertainment. He and Ghoul leaped around here and there to see the sights, and the two of them were quite eager to see what this carnival, something they’d never seen before, unfold with all its wonders. It wasn’t long until the speckled child tracked his pink brother’s scent to one of the booths, having to cock his head up slightly at the elevated structure. Still, it was within reach, and the boy’s glowing silver gaze swept over the scene. He grinned as he saw the brightly-painted rings and the sticks - he didn’t pay much attention to the coydog’s words but he already understood the gist of the game - toss a ring and get it onto the stick, right? No biggie. With a wide, arrogant smile planted on his charcoal lips, he grabbed a ring in his teeth, hovering slightly only his hind legs due to his small size. Whipping his head back and then forward, he launched the ring towards the sticks, planting all fours on the ground again as he watched the scene unfold with a giddy wag of his tail.

Kane beamed with fatherly pride at the three pups clinging to his back as they oohed and ahhed at everything they passed. Even though they were just old enough to be out of their birthing den, Tamsyn had wanted to start them on their adventuring early, getting them out into the world to see the sights and meet as many new wolves as they could. What better place to expose young, bright minds and eyes to a world of wonder than a carnival? The dire brute meandered slowly down the rows of booths and stalls, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells all around him while he let his children overwhelm their senses with the world they'd just come in to. As they walked by a game booth with rings and wooden stakes, the coydog staffing the booth called out to Kane and Tam, beckoning them over to play. After exchanging a look with his mate, Kane stepped over to the booth and picked up a ring in his paw, since his sabers got in the way of using his mouth. "Watch this, little ones!" he said to his children as he tossed the ring at the sticks.

Eugh. Carnivals. Usagi had never been to one and he hated it already. The rush of numerous voices, pushing past strange bodies and obnoxious colors and weird coydogs made his scowl almost sink into the ground. He’d only gone because Hattori had gone, and with other Tōjō-kai members enjoying the festivities, he felt prompted to go in some sense. No doubt Kuroo was likely about, enjoying himself and likely having a ball with the games like a child. Icy chartreuse eyes swept over the chaotic scenery, the sound of laughter and the smell of fried foods churning his stomach fouling his already poor temper as his cat and Akita trailed obediently behind him, as he insisted they should be. It wasn’t long before a brindled coydog called out to him. Something about a game with rings..and sticks? How was that even remotely entertaining? He bit his tongue to avoid saying anything snappish, and knowing it would make Kuroo happy to know he was exploring all this new land had to offer, he grudgingly picked up a ring in his jaws. Lining himself up with the dowels across from him, he took a brief glance at his trajectory from the distance he’d accrued, swung his head back, and then swiftly threw the ring towards the sticks. He watched with a rather disinterested glint in his eyes, because he really didn’t want to be here. Still..the idea of something possibly interesting happening gave him just enough curiosity to keep him there.

Beaming from ear to ear, the goggle-clad child had been having the time of her life exploring the carnival. Whatever fears, worries, or sadness that lingered in her lonely heart ebbed away as the distractions of the festival lured her in. Zoey’s gaze sparkled, watching the coydogs nimbly scamper about and arrange the most wonderful games and food and prizes. She didn’t know where to begin! Her little legs carried her from booth to booth, place to place, she had never seen so many wolves having fun all together! It certainly helped her loneliness, particularly being around a lot of pups her age here, too. She was enjoying the sights and letting her mind observe the interesting hybrid creatures running the booths when she suddenly came across a game she knew she absolutely had to play. Tail wagging a mile a minute, the russet child listened to the warrior-looking coydog’s words, practically wiggling with enthusiasm for her turn. When she could finally step up, she picked a ring - a bright yellow, one of her favorite colors - and padded backwards, pausing a decent distance and eyeing the dowels with a joyous, ambitious sparkle in her eyes. Well, no time like the present - let ‘em rip! She tossed the ring with decent precision towards the dowels, not caring if she won or lost (but hoping she’d win all the same), bouncing up and down with anticipation. She was just so happy, and this csrnival was super amazing!

Manea sauntered through the carnival along side her husband, attempting to keep track of their children as they ran amuck through the tents and stalls until eventually she just waved them off with the instruction to come find them later. They weren't tiny pups any more, no matter how much that fact saddened her, and they could certainly hold their own for a couple of hours at a carnival. Her attention was drawn to one of the coydogs as Alastor engaged with one of them, agreeing to their game. She smirked and slipped up along side him to try her paw at it as well. She eyed up the distance between them and their targets for a moment before picking up one of the rings and tossing it over to the bottles, making sure to aim so that her ring wouldn't accidentally knock into Alastor's along the way.

Morendo stuck close to one of the adults as they moved through the carnival as he was instructed—well... most of the time, anyway. Occasionally he did try to sneak off to investigate some things occasionally, but only for a second. As they passed a booth with rings and things to throw them at he slipped away from the group long enough to try and steal a ring, but the coydog manning the booth stopped him with instructions to throw it. Well, he'd rather just take the ring, but if that was the "game" he supposed he had to play it. With a shrug he gave his best attempt at a toss, flinging it toward its intended target.

Plague walked through the carnival with his family, paying more attention to their pups running around their legs than the carnival itself. It was their first outing since they were born and he was a bit nervous to have them out and about around so many other wolves, but with three sets of eyes just among their parents he finally got worn down into agreeing to bring them. He knew any of the Ashen wolves would keep an eye on them as well, it was just the worries of a new, first time parent. Sitri coaxed him over to one of the games, and with a sigh and a smile he handed a ring to Sitri and took one for himself, helping his boy toss his before tossing his own.

The horned Armada man walked through this pop up carnival curiously, wondering to himself how all these wolves had heard about this event and where it had even come from, but since it was here he figured he might as well enjoy it. Remus peeked at a couple of games, but it wasn't until he happened to walk past a ring toss game that he got pulled into one—almost literally since a stray flying ring accidentally ended up on one of his horns. He blinked with surprise and walked over to the game with a chuckle, pulling the ring off of his horn and instead tossing at their intended target to see if he could make the best out of accidentally becoming part of the game.

He didn't often leave his studio within the Armada, but when he noticed how many wolves were going to this carnival that had popped up he figured he might as well show his face there as well. The brightly colored, crowded "Love Day" carnival wasn't exactly his taste, but when he saw some wolves walking away from the games with prizes he figured he might as well try one out as well. He came all the way here, he might as well have something to show for it, right? He walked up to the first game he saw which happened to be a ring toss game and after waiting a moment to take his turn he grabbed a ring and gave it a throw with a toss of his head. Hopefully he'd get lucky on the first toss and he wouldn't have to try and sneak in a second one!

The horse made his way carefully through the booths, great teal eyes taking in the games he could spot. One, which he spotted Ardyn taking a shot - and failing - at, was one he’d have no hope of doing effectively, so he moved on. The other two, he considered more closely, ears pricking as he deliberated. He spotted Legacy, and felt a twinge of both sadness and relief to see her out and about. Perhaps she was on the trail towards healing from her losses. The rings were a possibility, and by far the most likely game would be the one he’d seen wolves plucking ducks from a pool. He waited until enough space had cleared for his large frame to step in without crushing wolf toes beneath his hooves purely by accident, and lowered his head, tipping it to hook a ring over his horn with a flick that spoke of practice using his horn to flick things away, whether it be another stallion’s gaping jaws in a fight, or rapping a foal’s haunches with the flat in reprimand for misbehavior. He side-eyed the pegs, then gave his great head a toss, flicking the ring from his horn in a lazy arc toward the targets and stepping back to be sure he wasn’t taking up space, glancing away to see if he’d spot any other packmates. He doubted he'd land anything, but he'd find it amusing if he did. Walk ---- "Speak" ---- "Hear" ---- Think

Ruse stuck pretty close to her father and mother as they worked their way through the busy carnival, but a coydog promising a game of ring toss tempted her away for a moment and she snuck over to the stall while they were looking at something else. She looked up at the canine operating the booth with big, two toned eyes until they finally handed over one of the rings and she took with with a big grin before going over to the counter and climbing up with her paws on the edge. She gave a little grunt of effort as she flung it over toward the bottles just hoping that she might actually hit something since she couldn't actually see where she was throwing it at. Maybe she should have gotten her dad to come over here after all so she could stand on his back while she did this!

Segin stuck close to Emersyn as they made their way through the carnival. He was still a little down and heartbroken over how the band had gone after he started out so hopeful for it, but he supported Emersyn's choice to leave and willingly volunteered to go with her. Indigo wasn't the same wolf that he had initially fallen for and it didn't seem like he was doing the man any good staying here. He was what was keeping him here and if that was no longer the case then it felt better to stay with Emersyn who he had grown more and more attached to with each passing day. The carnival was a nice momentary distraction from it all and he was happy to walk around and see all the crazy colored stalls. Passing by the tent that housed the ring toss game, the coydog practically dragged him in and stuck a ring in his mouth. Blinking with surprise he glanced at Emersyn with a shrug before tossing the ring across the barrier with a flick of his head. When life gives you lemons make lemon tea, or however the saying went.

Since he knew there was no getting around having his dad come along he got Plague's attention and begged for him to come over to one of the booths with him. Luckily his dad agreed and he grinned as he ran over to the ring toss stand, hopping in place while he waited for his dad to give him a ring. He took it and tried to peek over the edge of the counter, but couldn't do anything until after his dad had tossed his ring and then picked him up, putting him on the counter so he could toss his too. He beamed back at his dad, his tail wagging excitedly. This was the best day ever whether he won anything or not!

Tamsyn walked beside, but just behind Kane's shoulder as they meandered through the crowd, making sure that their children were staying still on his back and that there was no risk of them toppling off. She grinned up at them, pointing out interesting things for them to see as they passed. They were still so little and only just barely big enough to leave the den, but the carnival sounded too interesting to pass up. They were getting started early when it came to seeing the world, that was for certain! When they were called over to one of the booths she shared a glance with Kane and gave him a "why not?" shrug before walking over to the ring toss counter with him. She chuckled as he tossed one of the rings after instructing their kids to watch and she did the same shortly after, throwing the ring off toward the pegs with a flick of her head. She heard some delighted giggling from their children and her tail wagged, looking back up at them with a happy grin. The trip out here with tiny pups might have been trying, but it was entirely worth it.
