Kore is practicing sneaking up on things today and he is doing really well. Or… so he thinks.

With his small, galaxy-hued body flat against the ground, the pup slowly crawls toward an unsuspecting bird. The bright yellow puff of feathers is sitting a huge rock, singing happily away. That’s right little bird, keep singing. Since the rock is elevated, the galaxy-hued boy decides to get as close as he can before leaping up toward his unsuspecting prey. He is the picture of sneaky, no one can see him!

Small puppy legs propel him forward on his stomach, dirt and brambles clinging to coat as he passes. Auntie Motif might give him an ear full later but that doesn’t matter right now… he is almost there. Finally, when he decides he is close enough, Kore raises up into a crouched position, ready to attack.

The yellow bird stops singing for a moment, head tilting as it eyes the grass near Kore. The pup thinks to the bird, ‘No, no. You don’t see me. You only see grass.’ It seems to work as the bird goes back to singing. Kore’s front-end crouches low, extending his butt up into the air. The bird quiets down as Kore readies to leap.


"Kore Regni"

Ulmaria wandered through the range without much of a plan for the day. She couldn't decide between pestering that badger that lived under the barn or gathering some flowers and bringing them to her uncle for identification. Truth be told though she wasn't in the mood for lessons at the moment. Ulmaria was spacing, just walking along when she spied her brother Kore doing something in the grass and the brambles. Curious as to what he was up to she bounded forward and called out to him. "Hey Kore! Whatcha doing?" She hadn't seen the bird until it suddenly took off into the air. Oops. "Ohhh we're you hunting that bird?"

Kore is being super sneaky. Or at least… as sneaky as a pup can be. As he crawls through the brambles, toward the unsuspecting bird, a piece of his fur gets snagged on a branch. Glowering at the silly twig, the galaxy hued boy tries to tug himself free. The bird hears the rustling, turning toward the noise when a voice calls out to him. That, along with the bouncing form of his sister has the bird flying off and Kore moves to give his stuck fur his full attention. He calls out to Ulmaria, “Hey Mar. I was trying to pounce on it. Been teaching myself how to sneak up on things! Well… trying to anyway.”

Finally, the snagged fur pulls free and he lopes out of the brambly area, giving his coat a hard shake to get some of the stickers out. Trotting happily over to his sister he asks, “Whatca you doing sis? Anything fun?” Kore sits to stretch an itchy spot behind his ear as he looks to Ulmaria. Maybe he can show her how he has been training in fighting. He has seen her training too.


"Kore Regni"

Ulmaria was relieved that her brother wasn't too mad at her for scaring the bird. If she'd seen it she definitely would've been quieter. Her ears perked up at the mention of pouncing. "That's neat!" It was far more interesting than what she'd been doing and when he asked she sighed dramatically and flopped on her belly. "No, I'm booorrreeed. I don't know what to do." She felt like doing everything and nothing at once. Suddenly she bounded onto her feet. "I know, I know! Wanna spar?" Tail wagging she scampered away from Kore a short ways before turning to face him and looking at him expectantly, hoping he'd agree.

Kore watches his sister, beaming as she thinks what he was doing was neat. His small chest puffs out a little in pride as he asks what she is up to. Muzzle wrinkles as he tries to think of something fun to do when Ulmaria springs up to suggest a spar. The galaxy clad pup exclaims excitedly, “That sounds fun!” His sister is already moving a short distance away and Kore works to set what defenses he knows. Ears back. Check. Eyes squinty. Check. Suddenly, Ulmaria is facing him and the nebula cloaked boy gives her a play bow, defenses forgotten. Tail wags as he gives a short, excited yip and rushes toward his sister, aiming to move to her right and nip at her leg. If his bite lands, he will only pinch for a moment, not wanting to hurt his sister too much.

"Kore Regni"

"Hooray!" Ulmaria cheered as her brother agreed to spar her. Maybe she'd get good enough to actually beat Lorelai some time. She faced off against Kore, setting her defenses. Her ears pinned to her head, hackles raised and she actually remember to tuck her tail this time. Kore suddenly bounded forward, the faster boy shifting to her right and nipping her thigh. She flinched and yipped a bit at the bite but quickly turned to try and catch Kore's wagging tail in her jaws, looking just to get a hold of it and hoping it wouldn't knock her teeth out in the process. Ulmaria didn't really have a plan, she was just reacting.

His bite strikes true, sharp puppy teeth pinching the tender flesh of Ulmaria’s thigh. When his sister gives a yip, Kore immediately releases the flesh, tail wiggling like a happy flag as he continues his path to move past Ulmaria. A suddenly, sharp pain flares along the wagging appendage and he gives a yelp of surprise as he quickly wheels around to find the source of this newfound pain. Blue eyes find that his sister has his tail between her sharp teeth. Shooting Mar a huge smile for the cunning attack, the galaxy clad boy tries to think of a quick counter. With his body turned to look at back, Kore decides to try and slam his frame into his sister’s. Jerking sideways quickly, he hopes to knock her off her paws and pin his cunning sister. However, right now, Kore would settle for Ulmaria releasing his tail.

Ulmaria's little fangs clamped down on her brother's tail and she tried to brace herself but still got pulled along behind him from his momentum. As Kore turned and pushed back toward her Ulmaria lost her grip and her balance. Releasing his tail she fell to her side. Oops! She saw her brother dive for her out of the corner of her eye and just knew he was going to pin her. In a last desperate attempt she kicked out hard with her hind feet, trying to catch him in the chest and give herself a bit more time to get to her feet. She'd all but forgotten her defenses at this point, so keen to get back on her feet before she lost this fight.
