So maybe he needed to prove himself a bit more useful to the pack. While he wasn't keen on being a fighter like most of them, he still had skills to be utilized. With the patience of a saint and a somewhat smart brain hiding in his skull, Kuroo made his way toward Manatee Bay. Since their arrival to the area, he had taken the time to gather some necessary materials to use in crafting larger nets. Hattori had mentioned previously that he wished to use the bay to catch larger amounts of fish to keep in supply for food. This was more along Kuroo's terms of interest.

Careful not to harvest too much to dwindle the supply of vines and roots around him, he had been letting the longer pieces soak in the shallows leading up to the bay. Allowing them to become more pliable and less likely to break, the splotched boy made his way through the light sprinkle of rain over to his stash. Pulling them out of the water, he brought them onto the shore. First, he knew he would have to decide how big to make it. There were a variety of different fish out in the bay they could catch, but if he made the net the right size, they could hopefully snag a few big ones.

Moving away from the bundle of roots and branches he'd procured, Kuroo went to look out at the bay. It wasn't the largest bay he'd ever seen, but big enough. There was a decent-sized island in the middle of the bay that would make a good start for the project. Netting in the whole bay would be the end goal, but they had to start somewhere. Thankfully it wasn't too deep either, but the mess of roots from the mangrove trees might prove to be an issue down the road. Settling on the idea of making a net big enough to attach from the side jutting out from the maze over to the point of the island that stuck out farthest, Kuroo made his way back to the items he'd gathered.

Taking a seat on the damp ground, he started weaving a few pieces together. It was difficult at first, as always since he didn't have thumbs, but soon he got used to it. Laying out the largest and thickest branch he'd grabbed to use as the top supporting piece, Kuroo began with attaching the thinner more pliable pieces to it in equally spaced-out sections. Not too big for fish to get through, but wide enough apart so that anything large like a porpoise wouldn't be able to rip it to shreds.
