Onyx had been adjusting to starting her life on her own though still in the presence of her family. It was difficult after the ooze, she was regaining her strength and stamina still but she was managing. She wouldn't ask help from her parents or siblings, she was meant to overcome these things on her own. She was already under their care once when the crystals had taken over her legs.

Heading inward of the sparse pines, she sought out her sister after what felt like some time not being around her. Any of her siblings really, but today Pyrite was on her mind. When she found her, she gestured with her paw, "Do you want to come do a patrol with me?" She gave her a gentle smile along with her words. They were no longer part of a pack, but still had to work to keep the predators away from each other.

Pyrite was much more solitary these days, but she still lingered in her family’s presence more often than not. It was better now that they didn’t have the rest of the ‘pack’ around them. Their parents seemed happier and freer than they had ever been. She had been worried about them when everything disbanded, but it was better for all of them. Everyone was doing better after the dark night at least, especially her sister.

The small girl didn’t expect to see her sister, but her bright eyes lifted to her features when she appeared before her. Onyx gestured lightly and then asked if her sister would patrol with her. Pyr didn’t debate for very long and got to her golden gilded paws. ”I would,” she answered easily enough as she padded closer to her sister’s side. Pyr liked to be somewhat reclusive, but Onyx always had a place in her heart. "Lead the way."

Pyrite had joined her without hesitation, and Onyx took the lead regardless of being asked. It wasn't in anyway a sense of higher authority or strength, she just fell into step in front of her sister.

It seemed they had the same kind of personalities, Onyx probably knew their similarities too. Onyx was also relatively reclusive, she didn't really like strangers. She was generally hard to get to know but she was trying to turn the tables. She felt like she had done something to lose Cina, but she didn't dwell on that specifically too much because of the unique situation he was through. She had been struggling a lot internally. Maybe her family saw it, or maybe she hid it well. But it seemed she was starting to discover what she wanted in her life the longer she learned how to live on her own. Leaving them was too hard to do though.

They walked in silence through the pines, which was completely fine. Onyx didn't mind. Somehow the presence of her sister alone was just comforting. It was good to be out every once in a while. Almost lost in thought, her attention had still caught on to the quick and heavy paw steps of a predator. When she turned, her paw motioned for Pyrite who she was sure had already caught on to their company. A white tiger slowed as it ran horizontal through the trees, around onto their trail and ready for a meal. Another cat, it always had to be a damn cat.
