Beaver Fever
Cerberus

Scylla, the smooth talker that she was, convinced her father to let her and Cerberus explore the dam together without an adult. Cerberus was old enough and he had his dog with him. Scylla had her viper. Everything would be okay. She was very convincing with her argument and eventually Chimera had relented. Together, the siblings made their way to the mainland and Scylla was intent on murdering some beavers. "Dad says that when there are too many, they change the landscape and ruin the grass, which keeps the elk away, which we eat." She explained, all knowingly.
As the pair explored the various branches of water that the stream broke off into, Scylla noticed a big pool of water that had once been part of the little river. As she peered over, she noticed movement within. Picking up a stick from the bank, the girl tossed it into the water and gasped as a huge crocodile erupted from the water, its jaws snapping at the stick. The reptile then hauled itself from the water, coming quickly towards the girl who turned tail and ran back towards her much larger sibling. The crocodile was now fully on land. Facing it in the water would have been a death sentence, but facing it on land would be much easier. This thing wasn't even supposed to be here!
Scylla should be seen as a very adult character who will indulge in acts that others may find graphic and uncomfortable. Steer clear if you don't like this sort of thing.

Cerberus joined Scylla as they went to the dam. He had been a few times before with Moccasin but also with patrollers nearby it didn't pose much of a threat. Cerberus just nodded as Scylla mentioned keeping the numbers down on the beavers would help their pack land here on the mainland.
When they came across the pool of water, Cerberus too squinted along the surface and watched as Scylla threw a stick into it. He jumped as the crocodile snapped up out of the water, but he stood his ground because he couldn't just let it take Scylla. His sister drew closer to him as the beast emerged from the water and almost looked them in the eye. He wasn't quite sure how to manage a predator like this. Should they have called for someone? Without much more thought, he leapt forward and went to bite down around the more thin area of the croc's skin on it's back leg. He certainly wasn't getting near it's face.

Standing beside Cerberus, both young wolves looked at the big reptile for a moment before leaping into action. While Cerb went and bit into the crocodile's leg, Scylla kept its attention so that it wouldn't spin and try to bite her brother. Picking up yet another stick, she thwapped the big beast on the snout. It opened its jaws wide and released a hiss and Scylla grimaced a bit before backpedaling. Bad breath. She learned something new today.
"Did you know," Scylla yelled over the sounds of scuffling, "that crocodiles and alligators have reeeeeally powerful jaws, but only when they bite down?" The crocodile had begun to spin its big body a bit to look at the boy biting it. When its attention was on Cerberus, Scylla jumped on its snout, getting the stick under its chin and holding onto it tightly from above with her paws, effectively holding the jaws shut. The croc jerked it head to the side, sending the small wolf rolling away, but she had proved her point. It hadn't been able to open its mouth!

Cerberus listened to what Scylla had to say though his mouth was a little occupied to really respond or focus, so he stayed silent as he too thrashed at the croc's leg. His brow raised as he saw her on top of the beast, holding it's dangerous mouth shut with a stick, maybe almost riding it's head like a bull. It had thrown her off of it's body in it's own thrashing, which caused Cerberus to bite down harder onto the sensitive part of it's leg so it wouldn't focus on her. It spun to go after him but he was quick on his feet and tore the leg of the crocodile at an awkward angle in turn actually ripping the leg from it's body. He tossed the piece of the crocodile aside, going to face off with it again had it tried to go after him or Scylla again. He wondered if it would bleed out or somehow scurry off... it would probably die either way considering it was missing a leg.

Picking herself up off of the ground, the girl used her odd paws to brush the debris from her coat. Once her attention was back on the crocodile and Cerberus, she noted that the creature was now missing a leg. "Uhh..." she said, tilting her head slightly before looking for the missing appendage. It was laying a few feet away in the grass. "I call dibs on that!" Surely she could sew a crocodile leg onto something.
The crocodile was slowly turning itself, though it was harder with three legs. Blood was pooling and running into the water, turning it first pink, then red. As the reptile began pulling itself into the water, Scylla gave it one last bite to the haunch for good measure. That should teach it not to mess with wolves again. After that, she turned to her big brother with a grin. "We sure showed that thing, didn't we?" Wiggling her dexterous little digits, the young girl scampered over to the crocodile limb and picked it up in her jaws like some grand prize.

Cerberus noted the crocodile feeling the need to retreat, so he stepped forward and moved to size it up. It couldn't have been feeling anything good now that it's leg was thrown feet from it's body. It's body moved in waves as it backed up away from them, and eventually scurried off with Scylla getting in the last little hit.
Cerberus turned back to see Scylla eagerly collecting the leg of the crocodile. He certainly didn't want it, but he wasn't bothered by what his sister would have in mind to do with it. With a glance over his shoulder, he looked back at the bloodied water almost expecting to see the crocodile floating there dead, but he didn't. His paws moved behind Scylla as they went back towards the island so she could set her trophy up somewhere nice until she was ready to use it.
