Each night since parting ways with her cousin, Noelie, the yearling had made it a point to ask her ancestors where to go next.  The signs and symbols that she'd been able to interoperate from the night sky had been saying the same thing consistently all week:  Northeast.  Originally there hadn't been a problem with that, but now the girl was completely fresh out of Northeast.  She'd tried to scry for her next move about a half hour ago, after the sun had completely set, but it had been a fruitless endeavor.  She tried again ten minutes later and, what would you know, still no answers.  Could that mean there was something that she was supposed to do here?

Etoile wasn't sure what the ancestors had planned for her, but without any obvious sense of where to go the girl was starting to feel a little irritated.  She was alone, confused, and felt like she'd been missing something obvious.  It wasn't until the first sight of a firefly that the young seer's ears perked up.  Fireflies held some significance back home, kind of like messengers on earth sent from the ancestors, or something like that.  Etoile couldn't really remember their exact significance, but surely this had to be something.

She followed a trail of the little lightning bugs until she finally reached it, and it was perhaps the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen.  The sight was almost like another spiritual awakening, thousands of somewhat methodical blips lighting up before her in the physical realm, amplified by the reflection of the lake below.  The seemingly perfect weather, the clear sky above, that sudden feeling of oneness.  It all made sense now, and this was exactly where she needed to be.

Inoki slowly walked along the soft sandy beach, gaze turned upwards as she looked with wide eyes at the glimmering and shining fireflies, not too dissimilar from the stars above. With a grin she snapped playfully as a bug flew closer to her, not wanting to actually bite it, but giggling softly as it buzzed somewhat angrily before zipping away. She glanced at Elindine who was perched on her shoulder, the lemur's obsidian's horns almost glittering in the glow of the firefly lights.

Her paws eventually brought her closer to the water, and there she spotted a dark blue and white wolf with small spots of yellow that looked very much like the fireflies around them. Inoki's tail wagged behind her as she saw the other wolf was clearly just as enraptured by the sight before them, and offered a low woof to announce her presence. But she kept her distance a bit, shrugging the satchel more firmly on her shoulder as she waited to see what the other wolf would do.

The yearling had been so mesmerized by the whole experience that when the stranger called out to her she hardly noticed.  Not quite ready to tear her eyes away from the scene, or perhaps not quite able, Etoile let her gaze linger for just a short moment longer.  Surely they would understand, how couldn't they?

When she did finally turn to properly greet the stranger, her eyes were met with a woman whose coat almost blended seamlessly with the darkness that surrounded her, who had the most beautiful pair of teal eyes, and stood only a couple of inches shorter than she had.  The way the fireflies illuminated her frame was almost as beautiful as the way they danced around the water.  Etoile couldn't help but wonder if this stranger knew just how ethereal she looked right now.  "My apologies.  Seems it's pretty hard to look away." She giggled before pausing to reflect on what she'd just said.  The Soleil was going to correct herself to make sure the woman knew she was talking about the lake, but decided perhaps it'd be better to just let her take it whichever way she pleased, neither would be a lie after all.
