This was her home now, and she was going to fucken' explore it. There was a brilliance to Jack, and it shone in every single step she took. High headed and brilliant... maybe it would do her well to be knocked down just a bit, but that was fine. There was no need. Okay, there probably was a need, but it didn't matter to her. She could keep on keeping on, ya know? Ya feel? Exactly. In the warm light of the late afternoon, Jack had decided she was taking to the beach itself. It was time to learn its secrets. The sand itself was glimmering and black. Jack's blue eyes danced with a sort of wonder-- childlike? Maybe it was childlike wonder. She'd never let that spark go out, though sometimes it was hidden. Sometimes it needed to be hidden. The very act of exploring a new home though? That was enough to make the girl feel alive with that wonder, that spark, that brilliance. The sand was soft, and gave way easily against her paws. With joy coursing through her system, Jack raced down the length of the beach, taking it all in. Late afternoon lulled around lazily like the waves lapping at the dark shore. Less languid was the form of Jack racing up and down the beach, bits of obsidian sand flicking off her paws with every kick. Well, maybe she wasn’t running up AND down, maybe just down, but Sparrow had only just gotten there and had only decided to imagine Jack doing sprints all day. Sparrow settled to watch the new pack ate as she frolicked. The sand was nice- much nicer than the mucky land she had found the woman in before. The pirates had a good real estate and though the beach was public property, they hadn’t had any trouble come from out just yet./

Sparrow considered calling out to the other, but Pongolo circled overhead and Sparrow figured she’d see her sooner or later. Sparrow wasn’t in a rush- besides, the view was good enough with the sunset and waves and racing woman in the distance.

Breath in her lungs, Jack couldn't help but be grateful for it. She was living her best life out here-- absolute fucken best. The sun was warm on her shoulders and back, and she could feel the dark sand as it sprayed out from beneath her paws. Every stride, every step, her muscles working in time. The resistance of it was enough to tire her more quickly than usual, but she'd get used to it. Endurance. Always for the endurance, after all. She was comfortable with herself, and comfortable with the exercise. Beyond their beach was a strand of what looked like islands, in the not-too-distant distance. Maybe Jack would explore them next. Maybe. Hell, she could do anything. She could go anywhere. The world was her oyster, and Jack was going to enjoy all of it. Speaking of enjoying, Jack's gaze fell on their alpha's figure as she settled in the sand. She hadn't been there the moment before. The antihero changed her course from the shoreline itself to something that curved inland, doing her best to steady her breathing before arriving. Couldn't be winded when you were trying to impress a pretty girl, right? She slowed to a jog, and then a walk, and then a halt before plunking beside her in the sand. "King Sparrow, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Her grin was relaxed, rakish. It was hard to be anything but ash she sat comfortably beside the taller woman. It unfortunately wasn’t long before the other woman noticed Sparrow and stopped her run, jogging up to Sparrow to greet her. ”Oh, pleasure’s all mine,” Sparrow said, running her eyes over the woman once as a hint as to what she meant, but not lingering long enough to be creepy- at least she hoped. Finally, her eyes met the other’s and held her wild gaze for just a second before Sparrow lolled on her own lopsided smile.

”You enjoying the pack so far? Sparrow asked, turning her eyes over to the rippling waves as they cast themselves onto the shore where Jack had been running earlier, lapping and ebbing at the prints she had left as the tide slowly rolled in.

There's no doubt that Jack is wild-- well and truly wild. She's nearly holding her breath as she holds Sparrow's gaze for a moment longer than necessary, allowing herself to drink in the sight of the alpha where she settled. Creepy, no. There's an undercurrent of something, and it's something... dangerous. Maybe dangerous is too strong a word, and yet... well, Jack likes danger. Always has, always will. Maybe she makes a bit of a show of things as she settles beside Sparrow in the sand. Flexing her sides as she drops down, stretching, the whole nine. Laying it on thick, as one does. With her intense gaze, Jack peers out across the sea. There's so much of it. It spreads before her in ways that she can't even begin to fathom. Still, she doesn't even feel small... at least, not with Sparrow beside her. The question has her considering for a long moment, tipping her head to one side and then the other. "I think so, yeah." The words come quietly, playing in the small amount of space between them. "Better being with you than on my own... and the others, too, what little I've seen of them." It's not a complaint, no. Jack remains conversational as she sits beside Sparrow, taking in all that the Obsidian Beach has to offer her. Her proximity to the pirate king was comfortable enough. They're still strangers, but they're not strangers anymore-- does that make sense? No, Jack supposed, it didn't. Still. She's comfortable enough here. Jack put on something of a show before Sparrow and Sparrow took it in, caught herself staring, pulled her gaze away while mentally chiding herself for being a shitty alpha, then let her gaze slide slowly back- call it a guilty pleasure. Jack commented that she thought she was enjoying the pack, mentioning how little she was of the others. "Yeah, I mean, I keep a loose leash, I guess. Maybe I should send y'all in pairs to spy on some packs, gather intel, and get to know one another better." It wasn't a bad idea. Some time long ago, she and Jupiter had done the same to the Armada. "Got anything in mind you think we oughta do? I mean besides planning our next raid. I want to make sure everyone feels like they're doing what they want to here."
