Chade Predator Fight

Oscar moves inward from the opening of the mine, one of his small hooves kicking a loose rock and sending it skittering further into the dark. The donkey gives a snort and shakes his long ears as the rock clatters around, the sound reverberating on forever. From his perch upon the ass’s rump, Nugget says, rather loudly, “Would you mind keeping it down?” The rooster fluffs out his feathers as the grumpy donkey gives his tail an annoyed swish, choosing not to answer his companion.
He continues onward, the yawning darkness calling to the donkey, begging to be explored. As he takes a step forward, a front hoof knocks against something metallic and Oscar takes a step back casting his gaze down to the strange object. Looking at the metal… line the donkey ponders what it could have used when he catches sight of another one! It is several inches separate from the first but it follows the same path. Strange. Lifting a small hoof, Oscar says out loud, “I wonder what these things were used for.” With that he knocks his hoof against it… hard.
A resounding, low, metallic rumble fills the air and another, more alarming sound, answers. With a mighty roar a grizzly charges out of the depths of the mine, causing Oscar to bray out in alarm. The donkey backpedals as large paws swing for his head. Giving out another, loud bray, Oscar rushes in toward the bear’s chest, forcing the bear to give up ground before it plants its back paws and attempts to stand up. In the small enclosure, the bear cannot stand very tall but the angry roars have yet to cease. The donkey keeps moving, hoping someone, anyone would come and help him.

Chade roamed to hunt, fight, or just keep building up his stamina. He was getting a promotion! The last thing he could do is let down the pack and get lazy. Jogging along the rocky exterior Chade slowed as he heard a sound that put a smile on his face, then the smile faded with a look of surprise. The fun part was another bear to kill, the surprise being he’d apparently found that donkey again.
Chade stepped into the mine opening and paused. Hopefully, the donkey could survive a few more seconds as Chade just felt as he’d dived into a bucket of memories. Ry and Chade had used caves several times when they were smaller for protection. That was when the sickness was about and they expected death around every corner. Well, Chade was no longer small.
Shaking himself from memories CHade barreled through the mine, following the direction the sound had come from and noticing it oddly was going the same path as the strange lines in the ground. Spotting donkey and bear. The donkey was again actually fighting and had Chade a bit impressed with it.
Chade didn’t break stride but just ran straight at the bear. Chade leaped into the air as if he planned to try and jump high over the bear, but he didn’t put any real length into the jump. The bear had raised up into a half-crouch and Chade got in underneath, launching up and grabbing onto its neck. He had no time to hold on though, the bear was already crashing back to the earth and Chade’s paws felt ground beneath. Hot breath met Chade and he attempted to get out of range of the teeth. A bear paw came to swipe at him. Chade spun about, bit the paw, eyeing the teeth that were so close to his face, teeth biting the sensitive palm before he let go and ran off a few strides, snarling in challenge at the bear which roared in rage at them both.

Shit. He managed to find the blue wolf again. Lucky the kid knows how to fight and Oscar watches as the large kid moves in to attack the angry bear. Giving a loud huff the small donkey rushes forward as Chade drops back the ground, the bear is too focused on trying to bite the blue wolf that wounded it. As the pup spins to bite the attacking paw, the ass moves in close and sinks his weight into his back legs. Braying loudly, Oscar rears back, small hooves flashing forward toward the grizzly’s head. A sharp crack fills the cavern as his hooves hit true and a wound opens above the bear’s left eye.
The creature reels, the hit stunning it and the bear falls onto its butt as it tries to regroup. Oscar uses the momentary lull in fighting to retreat and reset his defenses. Looking over to where Chade is, the small ass throws the kid a wink.

Even as Chade is saving his skin from getting away from the bear’s paws the donkey is attacking the bear again. Oscar wasn’t following proper prey behavior. It wouldn’t be fun to hunt it when it wouldn’t run from danger, though it might be fun to fight.
As the bear reel’s from Oscar’s blow Chade runs to leap back onto its back, biting at the neck, front paws planted on the shoulder. For a moment Chade feels like this might be the end of the bear right there, getting a nice chunk of flesh in his mouth but the bear rear’s up. Chade attempts to get off but with the wall quickly growing closer the jump turns into more of a desperate fall to not get flattened. Chade had never imagined a ceiling to be a problem in a fight. He’d have to remember that from now on.
Chade took a few seconds to get back on his feet after the bad landing. Guess he had to trust the donkey, Oscar, to keep it busy.

The donkey takes a moment to catch his breath as Chade leaps on to the bear’s back. Oscar gives him an encouraging shout of, “You got this kid!” Suddenly, the huge bear is rising up, threating to squish the pup between its body and the wall. Oscar is already moving and Nugget starts making a racket in hopes to get the beast’s attention. Chade releases his hold and the donkey barrels into the bear’s chest, sending the grizzly off balance. Oscar pulls back a few steps and turns his body so his butt faces the bear. The bear, still dazed from its head wound, has yet to regain its balance.
Too bad.
The donkey rears up slightly before planting his front legs into the ground. Back hooves swing up as Oscar brays loudly, the noise and sudden commotion confusing the grizzly. Small hooves connect with the creature’s throat and loud gurgling sound fills the mine. Oscar flees to a safe distance to turns to see and bear stumble forward, paws swinging wildly at air. Blood pours from its mouth and Oscar realizes that its throat has collapsed. Wincing in sympathy, he calls out to Chade, “All yours kid!”

As Chade works at regaining balance he hears the fight going on behind him. Standing up straight he turns around to spy Oscar kicking the bear’s throat with his back legs. Bold. The bear is clearly in pain and dying. Hell of a donkey.
Chade runs in and leaps once more for the throat, easily grabbing it in his jaws. Bracing his back feet on the ground the wolf thrashing his head, tearing out a good chunk of flesh. Blood flows freely and the bear hits the ground with a groaning grunt. The bears dun for but for its own sake Chade goes for another bite at the top of its neck where he had bit earlier, making a larger wound so the blood flows out faster.
“Die faster, its for your own good.” Chade speaks roughly to the bear before looking at the donkey. “Your one crazy donkey.” It’s not an insult, this herbivore had certainly impressed Chade.
