Viðarr was in a strange mood. He felt... strange. Ever since making their return from the carnival, things had gotten stranger and stranger. Not even bad strange. It seemed that nearly overnight he'd grown. A gift from the gods... a gift from the gods themselves. He had to believe it, though it wasn't always easy. They knew of his intent, and it seemed they were smiling upon him. For that, the shadow was grateful. Another dog had joined Fisk as well, and it seemed that they got along rather well. The pair had spent every night curled up together, each unwilling to let the other go. They were very much alike, and each refused to leave the other's side. Viðarr was happy to welcome the second dog into camp.
They'd need to train. They'd need to take that time and put in the effort. Viðarr carefully suited up, pulling his armor on and lacing it comfortably. Yes, he would train. Skill was just another well honed blade. He would train, so that he could protect his family. He would be their shield. He would fight for them. Viðarr held his head high, regal, ready.
Crossing onto the battlefield, there was an excitement in his chest. Both companions at his side, ready, waiting. All three were wound tightly, a spring ready to trip at any given moment. Tipping his head back, he allowed the call to ring out. Yes, it was time. Viðarr longed for the violence of the spar.

This place was new and unfamiliar. A tinge of metallic copper hung in the air over a bloodstained ground. Fresh mud squelched between her toes as she prowled with head hung aligned with her shoulders. As soon as she had crossed the borders, she knew that this was a place for sparring. Here and there, duos would pop up in the middle of clambering at each other. None appeared deadly, but she was on edge. Any of them could come charging at her at a moment's notice. Ready with muscles coiled and adrenaline beginning to spike, her ears pressed forward at the sound of a howl. The tone appeared familiar and her blue gaze sought out the figure. Ah, yes, the shadow man named Vidarr. His burly figure stood starkly against the beige backdrop. What a perfect opponent. Her body alit with a buzz of excitement as she approached with slow steps. There was no need to rush as she met his gaze. No need for words as her chin lifted her horned crown. On either side, her snow leopards trekked with her and somewhere in the sky, her crane swooped in circles. She was not alone, but she knew she would not need their help in taking down the man. Allowing a slight smirk to flit across her greyed lips, she paused a few feet from him. Ready to get the show on the road, Tenshi dipped her muzzle in greeting. Not a second later, her own massive form was ripping forward. Muscles extended and contracted smoothly as each paw slammed into the ground. While she was large and speed was not her friend, she burst toward him with power. Folding her ears neatly back against her skull and firmly pulling her tail between her legs, she lifted her lips to show him her nice set of teeth. Curling her head around to the left and aiming for the right side of his scruff, Tenshi launched herself at the man with paws reaching out. Aiming to wrap her legs around his shoulders, she hoped to land a snug grasp onto his neck. Viðarr's pulse spiked as his gaze landed on the woman. Tenshi, she was called. He recognized her. Beautiful in the same way any deadly, dire creature was. Breathtaking and maybe a bit terrifying-- just the way he liked his women, truly. Ah, right, he probably shouldn't be thinking like that about a woman he barely knew. Hell, it was similar to the feeling that filled his chest when he thought about Kiela. Gods... Kiela. The shadow shook his head as if to clear it. No, no he couldn't let himself get distracted. Not now, when there was a spar to be had and a fight to be won.
Tenshi, as she was, is a worthy opponent. The shadow wouldn't condescend her by going easy by any means. He dipped his muzzle to match the greeting, but the coil of her muscles that follows is unmistakable. She charges upon him, each footstep falling with incredible force. Yes, there's power here, and Viðarr stood his ground. The closer she came, the better he knew his odds to be. Close quarters combat is something that he understands, that makes him feel good. He set his defenses carefully, standing his ground, allowing the woman to launch herself.
Teeth making contact somewhere between his fur and his armor, slipping into the tender flesh. Gods it felt good. He feels alive and brilliant in every possible way. As Tenshi grabs to his body, the shadow doesn't back off. No, instead he presses forward, a growl echoing from his chest. Pressing forward and up on the spot where she makes contact with his shoulders, an attempt to knock her off balance or scaffold up against her. In the same moments, Viðarr's front legs force forward, force out. The studs in his bracers were sharp, and potentially far more than that. If he could use them correctly, there was a chance he'd be able to use them to his advantage. All the shadow knows is that he needs to stay tucked in close if he wants to have any chance in a fight like this.

Her own body contracts and relaxes as her rear paws dig into the dirt beneath her. Nails extend out as she tries to find a purchase on him. Teeth sink into the thick fur and tender flesh just around his armor. Muscles flow fluidly as she feels the rumble of his growl expels from his throat. A heart growl of her own reaches out to match his as she watches with wide eyes. His weight shifts into hers, pressing upward and toward the shoulder cloaked in her own set of leather armor. Not that she particularly needed it as her skin was thicker than most, but the extra protection would provide usefully. Shifting back on her own hind legs to counter his shove, she takes a step back. Releasing her hold from his shoulder with maroon liquid lining her lips, sharpening pain slices at her front legs that entangle with his. One thing she hadn't noticed was the sharp bracers leashed around his forelegs. Unable to break the skin yet, she peels herself away from him. Light on her paws, dancing away with calculated effort, she lets her piercing gaze reel over him. Matted fur soaked in sweat, she inhales deeply as she keeps her distance. A worthy opponent he indeed was. The thrill and excitement of adrenaline coursing through every vein of her body as she panted were more than enough to make her feel alive. She could keep her distance and sling her shuriken at him. That surely would keep him on his toes, but something inside of her wants her to propel forward. To be close to him, to feel his heartbeat beneath his skin. It is without thought or consideration before she is darting back in. Lithely moving toward the side, farther back along his ribcage, away from the armor and bladed bracers. Swinging her rear end toward his shoulder in an attempt to knock him off balance again, she reaches forward to aim at his thigh. She isn't beneath playing dirty. Flicking her tail out and toward his face, a smirk flickers on her expression as she continues to press closer against his body. The woman is far lighter on her feet than Víðarr is. It's enchanting, almost, the way that she moves. He tries not to get too wrapped up in it... though, between that and his proximity to her, it's a bit more difficult than he'd care to admit. The pair moves in time with each other, practiced, a dance... a dance that has far more history than either were likely to admit. If one thing was for certain, she was a formidable opponent. Víðarr was grateful to have her here, for her help sharpening his skills. It feels good. All of it feels good, and he feels as if he's well and truly alive with it all. Brilliant.
She dances, darts in and out of striking range. Víðarr dislikes the distance that's between them for more reason than one. Yes, more than just the spar... no, he needed to focus. The shadow needed to focus, and yet here he was, thinking about how nice it was to be close to her. Tenshi moved lithely, and the shadow moved to close the gap between them as well. She swings her rear in his direction, and for a moment Víðarr is taken aback. Ah shit-- wait no, she's checked him in the hip. It makes contact, and he feels himself rocked on his own paws. A brassy chuckle curses his throat, and he reengages fully, springing upon her as best he can.
If the shadow gets what he wants, he'll have his muzzle pressed against her neck, his teeth searching through the rich coat there. An attack or... well, in the heat of battle, shit happens. An attack but also... maybe something else. Víðarr could neither confirm or deny, but he'd do what he could to stay close to the woman. It was hard for him to deny himself.
