Duchess was finding her escape from an average life as she was no longer with Indigo and the band was gone. Maybe if she went far enough onto an island... it was silly. There was really no way to get away from her emotions. Well there was one, but it wasn't always available to her. And honestly she wasn't always in the mood. She had those bad days.

She had been here before with Segin, but still was just drawn to the island while it seemed so cut off from the rest of the world. Maybe that's what she needed was the solitude. As she walked the forests, the sounds of the birds that resided here were almost overwhelming. But maybe amplified in her state of mind. She just brushed by the trees and shrubbery.

Venom’s paws remained restless, settling into her new normal wasn’t happening as quickly as she wished. The Empress knew that it wasn’t as simple as going back to the way things were. The very fabric of her life had changed, and reweaving from what felt like the beginning wasn’t easy and it took a long time. Even after all the encouragement in the world in the end it was up to her, she had to suck it up and keep on the grind. Everything would work out eventually. Hopefully.

White gloved paws were restless and she continued on towards islands she had never set foot on before. Like Duchess, Venom was seeking solitude even here on this beautiful island. The leaves were starting to really change, and the fall could be felt in the chill in the air. Sunset eyes fell of the woman’s familiar form. She seemed less lively even than the last time they had encountered one another. Venom was sure the same could be said for her.

"And I found you again. What an odd sense fate has.” Venom commented softly as she approached the mottled purple woman.

When Venom came across her, Duchess reacted as she did with anyone who approached her. Not a worry in the world. But it was not out of bravery, and maybe that was noticeable. But these days it didn't bother her what general population thought of her. She wanted certain things, and it would hurt her when rejected. She wouldn't feel that way with this woman, or at least she didn't think she would.

She raised a brow at Venom as she joined her, commenting back, "It would seem so." Her thoughts were actually more suggestive than they seemed, but not even she had really grasped it. The waterfalls and rivers in the short distance, Duchess pointed her paw out as if inviting the empress out on a walk through the island. Standing, she went to move on, "Suppose you needed a getaway then? " It was a question that didn't need an answer. But it still came out of Duchess' mouth. Maybe she was telling Venom she felt the same way through those tones.

Venom’s empire was built of wolves who had the opposite demeanor of Duchess. She was brash in dangerous ways and flippant in respect for her own life, Venom was able to discern that much from how she reacted in the short time she knew her. Not that Venom’s attention was fully upon the dappled she wolf. These islands were unique, and knowing how different her own islands were this one was no different. The palms were unlike any she had ever seen, and the fauna did not exist on the mainland. At least to her knowledge. Every bit of movement within the foliage was something else he hadn’t ever seen before.

Duchess gestured gently inviting the Empress on a walk onto the island with her and Venom didn’t hesitate to accept. She walked along beside the familiar woman. She wondered if these odd coincidental meetings could lead to some kind of friendship. It was a beautiful path to take a stroll, an even better place to forget the troubles she had at home. Duchess spoke with far too much insight as she asked about a getaway.

"I suppose you could say that.” Venom had returned home from her journey over Boreas and Auster, but there was a part of her that wanted to see the world. She had seen so very little of it so far, it was a personal goal. She wanted to see more, and meet more fo the wolves she shared the world with. The Empress wanted different perspectives to open her mind, to return home and be a better leader for her people. "Sometimes it feels like there’s a lot to get away from.”

She couldn't fully relate to what the empress suggested. Duchess was always running it seemed. Mostly after her deception and then loss of the babies, but more so now that she was no longer with Indigo. She didn't really have a place to call home, so finding a getaway was probably no the best term for coming out on the island. She was running, but she was also searching. And Venom just happened to be at the same place at the same time on more than one occasion. Duchess didn't hate the fact.

They moved along towards the sounds of falls, the river widening and narrowing in different shapes and sizes as they went on. "The river is much more pleasant than the caves." Duchess spoke, having noted that she had been here at least once before. "That is unless you like cave dwellers. And by that I mean bats." They would soon come to a pool where one of the falls flowed down, Duchess took a drink of water but hadn't planned on staying on the islands long. Venom wasn't bad company, but not the company she was expecting. Or at least she thought for now.

Venom wasn’t one to run from her problems, the best way to confront a situation was head on. How did you confront a situation like the one before her? She was so hung up on how easily Hattori had turned his back on her. The Empress needed time and she needed space to come to terms with it all and seeing these unknown islands helped to ease her troubled mind.

It was too full to put too much thought into Duchess and her personal problems that were so similar and different from her own. White gloved paws carried her alongside the purple mottled woman as her sunset gaze lifted to find the falls as they rounded the bend. Crystal clear water fell from above and created a thick mist at the bottom where the water crashed down.

She chuckled as Duchess spoke, "I have made my peace with bats.” Venom’s palace was a massive cave system so they had become a fact of life, but thankfully the akitas were good at keeping them out of the common areas.
