Grimshaw still didn't know why he had to accompany this massive child on a hunt. The kid was nearly a year old and already inches taller than him, a grown ass man. He felt ridiculous almost toting around this giant yearling like he wasn't perfectly capable of taking out an elephant on his own. He would do as he was told though, he just struggled to see the point in it.
He wasn't searching for anything particular today for them to hunt, however he did have to keep his own limitations in mind. He was still sore and shouldn't be working as hard as he wanted to, but perhaps that was also why he was stuck with the behemoth child. In case something where to happen, Basilisk was probably the best kid for the job of carrying back a slightly smaller, full grown man.
The woods were known for their boar and today it would seem to be no different. Their naturally aggressive nature was otherwise old news to the man but today was a genuine worry. He didn't want to further injure himself, so figured he would let the pup do most of the work. He was learning, anyway. Crouching behind a large rock encompassed by foliage that he could only hope was large enough to hide the kid, he began with the plan.
"Ill chase, you kill, okay? Hide out up there and wait until you think you have a chance." He wanted to make sure they were clear before he'd allow the kid to go, wondering just how well he would be at hiding his gigantic self.
"Speech."

Basilisk had spent a few weeks feeling like his stomach was going to cave in on itself, and wanted to do nothing but sleep and eat. Dragging him out of bed in the morning became a difficult affair. Sirius, in a fit of exasperation had told Grimshaw to take him hunting, and for them to not come back until they had caught enough for Basilisk to eat in a week. It didn’t sound like much, until you took into account the fact that he wanted to eat his body weight in a day. He didn’t know, but it was a growth spurt, and one of his last.
As his body went through a tremendous amount of energy, Basilisk suddenly found himself smacking his head everywhere he went. He followed after Grimshaw, staying mostly quiet as his stomach growled and his limbs hurt. It was weird, but he was sure Grim used to be taller. Had the man started to shrink?
Having tracked down their prey, the pair was now huddled behind a boulder, discussing the game plan. Poor Bas had to really bend in on himself to not leave any parts showing, but he managed. “I can do that. How many boars do you think we need to satisfy Grandpa?” he mused.

Was anything big enough to hide this kid? He watched as he struggled to shrink behind the boulder and sighed. He doubted even a cave could effectively hide the child but supposed that this would have to work for now. After peering through the bushes at the boars, it seemed as though they went unnoticed and he he couldn't have been more thankful.
At Bas' question, Grimshaw nearly scoffed. "I don't think all the boars in the woods will be enough." He eyed the boy, wondering the question in all seriousness himself. He supposed they'd just have to keep hunting until he couldn't eat anymore, and then base it on that. Why was he tasked with just a ridiculous job? Maybe catching the boar in a pen would be easier, then Bas could come and get them himself.
"New plan. Lets hunt you some to eat now, then we can build a pen and chase them into it. That way you can come and eat whenever you're hungry." He liked this plan more. It would be a lot of work, but probably better for them both this way. Besides, if they did a great job, then maybe it could be useful for the whole pack and not just the mutant teenager.

Basilisk found his mouth twitch in exasperated amusement. He was just as sick of his cavernous stomach as the rest of them were. That was why he loved Halo so much, she always had snacks on hand, and not a single comment on him eating her out of house and home.
“I think Grandpa just wanted some surplus meat for the stores.” He mused as Grim suggested they build a pen. That sounded complicated, and the young wolf wasn’t sure how they would go about that. At least hunting he knew. “If you chase them through the gap between this stone and that tree, i’ll try to take down more than one?” The titan sized wolf suggested

The boy went against his plan but that was okay. He didn't want to put that kind of work in, but who could blame him. He probably wanted to get back to whatever giant puppies do. Grimshaw shrugged then, interested in at least trying the kids idea and happily moved himself to the other end of the herd without being noticed by their prey. It wouldn't be difficult to herd some over towards the area Basilisk had mentioned, but he hoped that the boy was able to bring down at least one. If too many rushed through, then it would be difficult to catch even one boar.
Grimshaw didn't give it much more thought before bolting out from his hiding place, snapping at the heels of the closest pig and sending it screaming through the rest of the group and towards Basilisk. The other boars started to run a second later, Grimshaw close behind and snapping at them as they ran in the direction he intended. As they got closer to the narrow opening where Basilisk waited, Grimshaw slowed his pace to prevent too many from running through, but unfortunately couldn't see ahead of them to tell if it actually worked.

Basilisk was anxious to get the kill done, so he would know if he would succeed in the hunt or not. Patience was still a virtue he was learning. He tried not to shift too much as Grimshaw got into position. Moving himself to the other side of their prey. Then, at last, he hard the sound of snapping jaws as Grimshaw leaped forward. Chasing and herding the pigs.
There was one distinctly in the lead. Whether from design or coincidence, Basilisk used it. He leaped from behind his rock covering and grabbed at the pig. All but hurling his impressive weight over it as he found its neck and bite down. It squealed and kicked in his grasp, and the other pigs bulked in surprise. But Grimshaw was there, a threat from the other side. They tried to stream around Basilisk as he finished the kill, and as the last pig tried to slip by him, Basilisk threw down the corpse and lunged at this one. Bringing it down in a similar manner.
