With a spring in his step Tyrian made his way over to the barn. He'd thought long and hard about the path ahead and come to the simple conclusion that it was time for a change. For him, for the pack, for everyone. That decision, once made, had lifted a burden off of his shoulders he hadn't known he was carrying. He felt lighter, freer, and excited; and the hard part hadn't come to pass yet. Even though his heart was already racing ahead there was still work to do in the present. Tyrian had to keep reminding himself to stay in the present. He owed it to the wolves whose lives had been intertwined with his to make the transition as easy as possible.

Tyrian settled down in the heart of the barnyard, threw back his head, and howled for the Fireside wolves. They had business to discuss.

Tyrian has a saber-toothed snow leopard companion named Zahir, a black-footed gray langur named Tashi and a striped skunk companion he insists on calling Righty even though her name is Daisy. Assume all are nearby if not mentioned.

Álarr had returned late from visiting his nieces and nephews at the river. Exhausting had pulled him swiftly to sleep and it was difficult to pull himself from its grasp when morning came Ugh. He needed to figure out a solution. He was trying to be in two places at once and to do more than he had the time or resources to do. It left him drained.

Álarr was about to drift back off to sleep when his brother's call echoed out from the barn, calling the wolves of Fireside to gather. Hmmm, what could this be about? It had been awhile since he talked to Tyrian. Getting to his feet Álarr paused long enough to clean the glaring spots of mud off his coat before answering his brother's call. "Tyrian," he dipped his head in polite greeting before sitting down heavily.

Dagrún had been up north enjoying the snow and pestering polar bears. Her thirst for adventure was driving her farther and farther away from home but she wasn't really worried. Most of her family kept to themselves these days and she doubted she'd be missed. She trotted back into Fireside territory with her tail waving lazily back and forth. Such a long journey could work up an appetite and she made a beeline for the hunting stores.

Dag grabbed a chunk of dried meat and set about to chewing on it when she heard their leader call. Her ears perked right up. Whoo hoo! Maybe they were going to raid. She'd been so disappointed when the last one got canceled. She arrived to see Tyrian and Álarr and gave each a nod before flopping down to continue her snack.

Things had been dreadfully quiet. So. Painfully. Boring. Half of the time, the lanky youngster didn't bother to try and find entertainment within the borders. With the runty lamb that was rapidly growing into a stocky, healthy ram, and the shrike that refused to do more than harass him, the boy had been venturing further and further from home with each new adventure. So it was only by dumb luck that he happened to be nearby when the powerful, authoritative summons of the King's call caught his keen ear. Moving at a steady lope, the dark furred Saxe boy made his way back home. There were a few familiar bodies already lingering around the King, but for the most part, it was just as sparse as the rest of the pack lands. The sounds of bated breaths, the scents of just a handful of their members, it wasn't particularly surprising. Regardless, he flopped over lazily beside Luxe and used the lamb's woolly flank as a pillow beneath his cheek while he waited. No doubt his father would show up soon enough. Perhaps some of his siblings, though he hadn't seen much of them lately either. Everyone seemed so keen to do their own thing nowadays, he almost missed the bustle of a whelping den.

Comfortably lounging against Luxe with Butcher plucking at the loose hairs at the end of his tail, Raven piped up with a friendly greeting to his uncle. "Howdy Alarr!" he trilled with that pitchy, awkward voice of his. He hadn't seen Alarr in a little while, but that didn't matter too much to him. Either way, the man was family, and that was the important bit.

The pack had been pretty quiet for a while, though admittedly, so had he. The older male had been doing his part regardless, hunting food and adding it to the pack stores, though he couldn't help but notice that the members of Fireside had been slowly distancing themselves. But when he heard Tyrian calling for the pack to gather, Ares made his way over to see what the deal was. To his surprise though despite his lateness, he was surprised that there were so few wolves that had shown up. Puzzled, he took a seat and turned a questioning gaze to Tyrian. He didn't know what was going on exactly, but whatever it was, who was he to judge anyone? He took everything in stride, and he supposed this would be one of those things if need be.
