Winter was a hard time of year for many. Healers, especially. She had never been to the other continent, but in Boreas, snow was littering the ground and it was harder for her to find herbs. She had a dried stash of them in her den along with some other medicinals she had prepared over the summer and fall, and she knew the other healers would have supplies she could borrow if need be, but still. She liked to collect her own herbs and supplies without bothering anyone for theirs, but she feared she wouldn't be able to find much this season without traveling further out or bartering for them.
She decided she would go on a patrol to clear her thoughts. Maybe a walk would do well to help her figure out a good solution to her conundrum...though it would seem that almost as soon as she arrived at one of the openings in the wall, she saw small tracks in the snow. At first she thought maybe it was a packmate, but then quickly realized the tracks were small enough to nearly match Aoife's, but then the scent didn't match. It clearly belonged to a fox, and the little sly beast had trespassed. The only problem was, she didn't know exactly where it had gone. The foot trail ended abruptly near one of the ramps to the wall, and the crafty creature had clearly dusted away his trail. On high alert now, she figured she didn't need to call for backup considering it was just one fox. She could handle it, right?

Winter once again gripped the land in its icy grip, blanketing the plains in white with snow and casting everything into a monochrome hue. Drachen's breath turned to mist from his nares as he walked along the edge of the Valhalla's border, his paws moving quieter then a wolf his size should have. He was growing more skilled in his role as Mist, a secrete rank that required one to be able to move in the shadows unseen or even change their appearance and accent in order to infiltrate another pack or band and gather information. The black and tan male still had much to learn and improve on, but he was much more skilled now than the day that Aurielle gave him the rank. But today he was not leaving on other long mission to gather information but to patrol the border renew the scent markers, and so far things had been normal.
Until Drachen caught a scent in the air of one that did not belong within the pack's lands. The male slowed to a stop and lifted his nose in the air and drew in the scent. It was that of a fox, a small canine and not one to really pose a threat to the pack but seeing that it was now winter, Drachen did not want to have another predator to compete with for the smaller game within the plains. His deep blue eyes scanned the ground around him until he found the beast's smaller prints in the snow and he began to track the creature swiftly and skillfully. He no longer possessed a limp from the long scar on his right leg from when he had fallen ill from the glowing goo and hallucinated into gods knew what and cut himself horribly.
It wasn't long before he closed the distance and the fox's scent grew strong in the air around him. But it seemed like he was not the only one that had spotted the fox as he also scented a fellow Valhallan in the air.He scanned the area again and as he rounded one side of the hill, he saw a younger white and brown she wolf standing by the wall looking up at a path that lead to the top. Drachen trotted up to the young female, giving her a soft woof so that he didn't startle her as he tried to soften his paw steps to not alert the fox above. "Little creature seems to be desperate enough to hunt in wolf territory." he said softly, glancing his oceanic blue eyes to his pack mate before flicking them back to scan the top of the wall to see if he could spot the smaller canine. Enzi would scan from above and soon circle over where the fox was and he kept checking the sky for the black dot that was her high above them.

Drachen has a female Red-Tailed Hawk companion named Enzi that is always with him unless otherwise stated
Sniffing around for the foxes trail, she heard a soft woof behind her. She cocked one ear back to acknowledge she had heard him, nose to the ground as she tried to figure out where the scent led. "Little creature seems to be desperate enough to hunt in wolf territory." She lifted her head with a sigh and a frown. She looked at her packmate, someone she hadn't really met but had seen in passing. "Yes, I think most animals have been lately. I've been seeing tracks and smelling them quite close to our borders...I think Ardyn mentioned something about a tiger that had attacked him and Tel a few days ago as well." It was definitely concerning.
A sound from beneath one of the shelters they had caught her attention, causing her to whip her head around and noticed a piece of cloth that was usually held up with a couple of stick poles was now hanging. Something had knocked over one of the poles, and she was sure it was the trespasser. "I think we found our visitor," She murmured as she slowly moved forward. Her senses were on high alert, but as she peeked around the corner of one of the makeshift crates that held some miscellaneous items, the fox had launched itself at her. She scrambled back in surprise, the fox barely missing her as it landed a few feet past her in the snow. The fox turned around, as did Amorielle. The pair faced off, waiting for the other to make a move.
