Rudy stretched out as he stepped up for his turn in the tournament.   One back leg at a time reached out behind him getting that last bit of loosening up and grinning at Serenity.  They were both on home turf and she was one of the hallows knights so he imagined this would make for a good match.  Casting Serenity a grin, “Let’s have fun!”

Rudy gave another second before running towards Serenity.  She was larger than him but not overly so like Art was.  The motley Carpathius ran and took his first strides as if to aim for Serenity’s left, head lowering with a show of intending to use the antlers that now graced his head.  Rudy almost never did whatever he showed first though.  As his hind feet hit the ground he pivoted towards her right, head twisting so that his antlers would be between Serenity’s face and his own as Rudyard aimed a bit for her right leg.  

Rudyard still had to get more use to fighting with his antlers and for now, he rarely tried to use them for offensive purposes but they were handy like an extra bit of armor to defend himself.

"Rudyard Carpathius"

They had met before, otherwise Serenity had seen Rudy from up top the castle walls. They didn't know each other very well but that wasn't something different for Serenity. She liked to give everyone a narrative especially when she hadn't met them before. She was quite the odd one.

She nodded to his words and faced off with him and soon enough they were at it. Rudy took the first move and he seemed to be giving his antlers a good use. She would do the same then. Taking a step back, she too lowered her head but in an awkward angle down as Rudy went to take a bite lower on her leg. Their antlers still crashed together but in this position she wasn't really able to throw in her own bite. But with her leverage and size over him she took advantage of that and pushed into him with a little tilt in her neck hoping that she could get him to back off and maybe they could give it another face off. A little bit of blood from the bite on her leg wouldn't bother her, she was a pretty tough girl after all.

Rudy really wasn’t biting with an aim to do damage but when he was biting she was ramming her horns into his own.  There was a solid *clack* sound as they came together.  The teeth bit in a bit farther than he meant to.  It wasn’t a serious wound but more than a spar needed.  She certainly didn’t seem bothered at it as the response was just shoving him back.

Rudy tried to brace his feet but when it was clear he was giving ground one way or the other he just stepped back and they separated.  That had actually worked pretty well!  Rudy normally saw horned wolves using them offensively, so this was a whole new thought to consider in their usefulness.  

For now, though he lowered his head a bit to have antlers facing the wolf as he charged in another stride.  The head would come up then aiming for a last-minute bite at the neck, shoving his own weight at her.  Sometimes the one who overpowered wasn’t the strongest or tallest but just the best balanced.  Hopefully, he could get her off balance first.

"Speech"

Serenity got her wish and her and Rudy were there to start fresh and face off again. There wasn't much pause though, Rudy was still keeping up the pace in their spar.

The two acted much like deer wolves with their newfound antlers. The way they clacked together and used them in their fight. Rudy still engaged with them, making Serenity take another couple steps back before they collided again. This time Rudy's jaws meeting with her shoulder. Now that they were chest to chest and their antlers weren't really in the way, Serenity too lowered her face to attempt a bite further down Rudy's shoulder where it met his leg. They were playing more of a balance game at this point, and it would only take time to tell who fell or stalemated.
