The kid clearly wanted to learn and was willing to fight so Kotori had decided to deal with her first this day.  Well, actually he would have made sure things were well along the pack lands and the empress had no need of him.  He wanted to learn from her but would also keep to his part of the deal.

Now that he knew Seere wanted to train it would be on his terms.  He’d find the pup, soon to be yearling, and pass by with a glance back, “let's go.” There was no question to this.  If she wanted to be a student that meant he was the teacher and he made the decisions.  

He’d taken her off to the willows, a place he knew practically as well as the grass plains he’d grown up in.  The scent of deer took his attention at one point but after a moment he passed it by until he found what he’d been looking for.  Killing other predators had been work or unplanned dangers but the truth was they had taught him a lot.  Nodding ahead he was about to point out the cat’s presence but no need as it started towards them.  The lion was making angry huffs at them, then showing off long and sharp fangs.  “Alright, lesson two, stay alive.  One distracts while the other does most the damage today.  If you aren’t sure you can finish getting a bite in time before you’ll get hurt move back.  This is training not defending turf and you don’t need to worry about me”

If the girl had questions they’d have to wait as the lion decided it was tired of their talk and charged.  Kotori lunged forward to meet the charge, twisting to the side before the frontal assault cold finish.  Kotori snapped at his leg as he continued running past, making the lion spin angrily wanting revenge.  The horned wolf had the cat’s attention giving Seere a chance to decide what she’d do.

"Kotori Fatalis"

Seere had been exploring the shrine when Kotori appeared and bid the small girl to follow. Since their fight with the bear, the monochrome pup had begged the Fatalis prince to teach her more about fighting. So, when he briskly walks past her, the girl falls in step behind him, silently waiting to be told what they were doing. They cross the borders of the pack lands and Seere hesitates for a moment, casting an uncertain look back toward the familiar lands. This is her first time leaving Ashen lands without a family member present and it feels… strange. Paws step across the border and, when the world doesn’t burn down, the girl quickly trots after Kotori.

They make their way into new territory (well new to Seere) and her bright, mismatched eyes look about with wonder. Even in winter, this place sparkles. Ice coats the long branches that hang down from the gnarled, twisted trees and sluggish springs weave their way through the trees and their roots. Kotori stops and the girl’s eyes snap forward, searching for the reason and finding the angry lion slowly approaching. Ears tip to listen to the more experienced wolf and she nods in understanding, knowing what her role will be. The whole time the earthen male talks, the large feline huffs in contempt at the wolves that look on.

Suddenly, the lion decides it is time to put practice into action and charges at them. Kotori rushes forward to greet the cat but Seere hangs back, choosing instead to take the feline’s attention. She finds a large rock and carefully lines up her shot before kicking it at the feline. It flies straight and true, missing the earthen-hued male while smacking the lion right between its eyes. It staggers, blinking uncertainly at the wolf in front of it, trying to figure out how the rock hit it with him standing right there. The monochrome girl is running, moving her small frame behind the large cat as she prepares to distract it some more.


"Seere Abraxas-Destruction"

Kotori jumped back deftly before the lion’s jaws and had thought he’d be avoiding a follow-up attack that didn’t come when the lion’s attention spun on a rock hitting it.  That really wasn’t what Kotori had planned but he didn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.  While the lion tried to understand what happened Kotori lunged in, head down and jerking it up to slash across the lion’s shoulder.  The cat roared in anger and snapped wildly at the air.  

Kotori’s weight shifted onto his back legs, spinning in a tight pivot to leap away from the lion's return attack.  The cat’s claws slashed dirt right where Kotori had been.  Kotori wouldn’t let the lion get to be in control of the fight for long though, heading back in to exchange another round of biting and dodging.


Kotori Fatalis

 

Kotori keeps the angry feline’s attention as Seere darts around to the backend, ready to distract the beast. The lion roars, snapping at Kotori as the monochrome girl darts toward its tail. What is with predators underestimating her? Maybe she is too small to be considered a threat in their eyes. Whatever the reason, the cat doesn’t spare her a glance as it continues to attack Kotori and Seere uses that to her advantage. Leaping up, small jaws snap shout around the base of the feline’s tail, a yowl letting the girl know she has struck true. Thrashing her head for only a moment, the monochrome girl releases her hold and deftly dodges several swipes from the angry cat. Hmm. Seems she struck a never with that attack…

"Seere  Abraxas-Destruction"

Seere bit into the base of the tail causing the lion to yowl and attempt to circle tightly about to get to the kid.  The moment Kotori was forgotten he bit into the lion’s neck with a snarl, twisting his head to both tear into the skin more and the incoming cat paw slammed into his horns, cutting into the sensitive palm.  Still, the power in the lion’s hit was enough to send Kotori rolling.

The lion looked as if it would charge the downed wolf but it pressed its front paw down hard on the ground and stalled as the pain of its new wound doubled at the misuse of it.  That didn’t stall it long but it gave Kotori time to get up and rush back in at the enraged cat.  His fangs bit into the cat’s wrist as it was swung at him with those dangerously sharp claws sticking out.  Kotori didn’t try to hold the bite, only using it to stop the motion.

The large horned wolf leaped onto the cat’s back, feeling it stumble with his weight added to its injured body.  Kotori lowered his head biting between the shoulder blades where there was less mane to protect it, ripping the area, and when the lion shook to throw off Kotori the wolf clamped down so that skin and muscle of the lion were sheared off even as Kotori had to roll on the ground again.

The damage was mounting on the lion, and so far the blood on the ground belonged just to him.  Admittedly, Kotori was going to be feeling sore tomorrow with all this rolling but the fight was clearly in his favor and hopefully, this would injure it enough that young Seere would get in a good shape or maybe the lion would just flee.

"Kotori Fatalis"

The air behind Seere’s tail shifts as a huge clawed paw swipes at the empty air where she had been. A giggle bubbles up and out as the adrenaline dump makes the monochrome girl giddy. Kotori fights, wounding the lion further and, when Seere turns back to race toward the fight once more, she sees him up on the feline’s back. Swiftly she darts in as the lion swings its head to the side to hiss at the wolf, her monochrome form leaping up to catch the feline’s throat in her mouth. With a quick thrash a twist, a gushing wound pours hot blood onto her and Seere quickly backs away as the dying lion weakly thrashes after her. Covered in blood, she looks to Kotori in curiosity, wondering if she did a good job as the cat thrashes in front of them… its life quickly living is body.
