Of all the places that a lion could end up, why did it end up here? As Chimera patrolled through the aspens, he caught sight of the big cat feasting on one of the many beavers that were prevalent in the area. That part didn't bother him, but he didn't like having such a large predator so close to the island. So what was a wolf to do?

The black and white brute rushed the lion, the big male hopping up from its meal with a snarl and a swipe. Half hearted, but a swipe all the same. It believed that his show would run the wolf off, but this wasn't the case. Chimera ran circled around the cat, biting here and there, leaving little bloody wounds from his jagged teeth. The feline spun and began to chase the wolf and Chimera led it towards the far border. If he could run it out, then it could live. If not, then it would die.

"Chimera"

With a now one year of age, he felt old enough to leave the island on his own, even if it was to their other claimed land. Using the ferry was all new for him but seeing his father and older siblings using it as he grew, he kind of new what to do on the overall basis. And like such he was able to cross the small ocean trail that separated the safety of the island with the mainland. Landing safely into the Aspen Dan, his pink eyes lurked around. Finding the silent place intriguing. What could he do? But before he did anything further he watched a flash of white and black, a large on to be more specific. It was his father. He was quick to catch the scene, finding the king going after a lion. Again? He could remember the one he and Strix had chased out there in the island. Eyes hardened as he stared at the lion who aimed to attack his sire.

Using the feline's distraction as quiet as the last time, he aimed to sneak behind the offending lion. Attempting to slipp at it's rear. And quickly and with a lot of force he opened his jaws and attempted to bit as hard as he could on the base of it base, aiming to both cause pain and steal it's attention away from his dad, wanting to give the late the room to attack.

It seemed that he wouldn't be the only one fighting a lion today. Orthrus showed up, his yearling son eagerly jumping in to provide assistance. As the lion's attention shifted, Chimera rushed in again, jagged teeth biting into the side of the cats jaw. Blood welled, filling his mouth but before he could do much more damage, the big wolf was jumping back again. It wouldn't do to get caught up in a lions claws.

The cat was bleeding profusely and was now quite pissed off. The younger wolf forgotten, it circled Chimera. The giant brutes lips peeled back and he released a guttural snarl at the feline, his pelt bristling to make himself appear larger still. The lion dove forward, claws extended. Chimera sidestepped, snapping his jaws around one paw before shaking his head back and forth with vigor, snapping bones and shredding flesh. The lion squealed in pain and pulled back, jerking its injured paw out of the wolfs mouth. There was panic on its face now.
"Chimera"

His attack made the big cat jowl in pain, anger filling the feline's expression.

It switched to attack him, but with his senses in synthon with the threat he was able to back down, quickly enough to aboid the lion's deadly claws. Ears pinned as his lips pulled to reveal his growing fangs. He wanted to give all the chances to attack for his father. And while he did, Chimera took the chance, and again the lion went to attack his Sire, but he knew Chimera will be fine, he was the toughest wolf he ever knew, he was just here to make it a bit easier. Taking it as his own duty to help protecting his pack, his family and everyone he loved.

His father breaks the lions forepaw, well it was sad but they werent taking chances, not with young wolves around. He wanted the feline to go now. Slowly he once again bits on its spine, wanting to send a clear message. Get the fuck out or die.

"Oscar"

With the cats paw shredded and the bites being delivered by Orthrus to its spine, the lion turned and fled, though not quickly due to its injury. It left a trail of blood with each step as it moved with as much speed as it could manage towards the border of Fenmyre territory. Chimera and his son stayed right on its tail, escorting it out of their lands to make sure that it wouldn't cause any more trouble.

Once the lion was over the border the black and white giant stopped. He gave Orthrus a gentle head bump. "Well done," he complimented. The boy had done everything that had needed to be done without putting himself at great risk. That was what Chimera wanted from his children when he was around. He would face the danger and they would play support. Turning back towards the island, the pair made their way home.
