The Market was something fleeting. Sayuri heard tell of crafters and masters of the forge before, yet not in this land. She had passed a vagabond near the north, content to share what they knew in exchange for a quick healing-related check-up. They told her that the only pack in the area had an open space for their own merchants. She furiously (and curiously!) pursued the lead. While she wore her blade on her back, proudly, she also needed more. Things like armor; made lightweight for a wolf of her size. Perhaps another blade, a smaller one? Her head filled with potential things to buy as she crossed into Armada's landscape. Gazing around, she spotted a man that she assumed was here to ply his trade. "Hello, good sir" she bowed her head as she neared him, as was customary to do and yet also polite "is there a blacksmith on premise?" Sayuri would wait for him to respond, giving a warm smile regardless. speech here |

The market wasn’t a new concept for him, but it had been quite a long time since he settled long enough to have a set place to sell his pieces. He hadn’t exactly been keen on selling them either after his past experiences with the matter, but at Sirius’ request he had allowed himself to open his shop once more. He at least owed Sirius a good shot at it if nothing else.
He hadn’t gotten his stall of sorts fully arranged and set up just yet, but he was in the process of bringing up some of his pre-made armors from his workshop when a slender patchwork woman approached him. He gave her a curious look since she certainly wasn’t one of the Armada wolves, but instead apparently a patron of the market. She asked about a blacksmith and a roguish grin crossed his features as he turned to face her. “At your service,” he said with a dip of his head. “What can I help you with?”

She would pull a leather scroll from her belongings, placing it in front of the man. There was no room to doubt his skill, so she did not. Sayuri opened the drawing, placing a pale paw on the edge so it would not wrap up. She had drawn what looked to be a wide straw hat, with offensive demonic horns on the top. The horns were in iron or steel, as marked in writing. "I would enjoy a helmet made..." Did she use that term right? A helmet? It was a hat, more or less, that covered the neck as well as the skull. It could even be entirely made in iron or steel. She just used bamboo as a base. "It would be wide enough to prevent bites to mine neck" Sayuri continued, pushing the rough DRAWING to the man "I can commission, pay and even assist making it. If it please you, good sir." Eastern weapons and armor were rare here, she knew. The koi woman would help the blacksmith if possible. If he did not mind the help, that is. She waited for him to read the etching, holding her breath. Would it be too difficult? speech here |

The interestingly marked woman came prepared with exactly what she had in mind for her order, his sea foam gaze turning down to the scroll she presented him with as she held it open for him to look at. His brows lifted with surprise and he lowered his head to look at the drawing more closely, taking in the details of it. A wide hat of sorts with metal horns protruding from the top, making it look almost like the horns belonged to whoever was wearing it and the hat was fitted around them, though he knew they were intended to be built into the hat or as the woman called it a helmet.
He hummed with thought as he considered the request, the wheels turning in his head and his expression lit up with interest. He had made an immeasurable number of the usual bracers, armor, daggers, chest plates... He'd never been asked for anything like this before and it excited him to have something new to work on. After a long moment of consideration he brought his gaze back up to her with a grin. "You've brought me a challenge, but that's exactly what I like. Since this is a new endeavor for me I would appreciate your guidance to make sure it's exactly what you want. I think I should have the materials we need on hand..." he looked down at the drawing for a moment with a tilt of his head as he tried to think through what he had in his supply store.
"Unless you have your heart set on any particular materials or colors of course," he added, bringing his attention back up to her again. "If you are I might need some time to source them since this would be a completely custom piece. I won't need any payment besides your assistance though. Anything that is this exciting to make is payment enough." He waited to see if she had any other particulars in mind to decide if he was going to need to go hunting down some materials or if they could get started right away.

Her smile grew, pleased that he seemed up to the challenge. Even more when he proclaimed he did not require payment, only assistance making the wide-rim hat. "Assistance you shall have" Sayuri vowed, giving a nod "I have collected dyes of all sorts, though monochrome will work for this piece. I may dye it later." She had two different reasons for coming here; gleaning information on Armada, a pack she didn't know... And testing this man, this blacksmith, in his craft. She wanted to bring back useful information to Tojo-kai. She would doubt Hanzo Hattori would do anything with it beyond mulling it over.
He seemed to be a hermit as of late, rarely moving against other communities. Especially one so far away! "What shall we do first?" Sayuri could hardly contain her excitement about the crafting. She inched closer to the man, her blue depths gleaming with interest "please, use me as an extension of your skill, good sir." She had no doubt in her mind that the man would be up to the task. If not, she would move to another blacksmith. Ignorant that her pack did not do outside trade, Sayuri doubled her efforts to gather information.
