With his ears pressed to his crown and ruby eyes closed, he released a calling howl. One that would hopefully bring forth a slightly more challenging opponent. Tove had been wandering near the battlefield, secretly hoping that someone would issue a challenge. The older wolf has been itching for a fight and the scarred woman has been hanging around the battlefield more and more. To her disappointment, not many wolves have been calling for a fight and the galaxy-clad wolf would leave each night disappointed. But not today. A howl rings out, calling for a challenger to approach and Tove quickly moves to answer the call. A tall, young male comes into view, armored and with companions in tow. Eyes flash with greedy delight as she stops across from him, eager to begin the spar. Talking hurts, the scars that crisscross her face, neck and shoulders bear testament to a painful battle. So, the older woman offers the youth a tight smile and respectful dip of her head before quickly setting her defenses and grunting at the boy to begin the fight.

It wouldn't take long for his call to be answered. Watching as the scarred older woman approached, he took this time to assess her wellbeing and physique. Toned and not quite worse for wear, he wasn't disappointed. Squaring his shoulders and centering his weight, Ghoul began to set his own body as she came to a halt and grunted at him. Good, fewer words the better. Folding his ears back and letting his shortened tail flatten to his haunches, the youngster propels himself toward her. There are only about four inches of difference between them, but it would make a difference. Darting to the left as the distance closed between them, he turned his face with his chin tucked and lowered to aim a bite at her scruff. Nothing to latch on, just deal some damage as he continued to run past before pivoting around to face her once more. The youth doesn’t seem to mind her grunting and Tove appreciates his lack of talk. A lot of wolves try to get the scarred woman to speak but it is painful and the few words she manages to get out are rough and gravely.

Coming to a stop, Tove sets her defenses, spreading her paws, lowering her center of gravity, tucking her tail, pinning her ears and narrowing her eyes. As the male moves to close the short distance, lips pull back to reveal her teeth. He goes for her scruff and she lets him, feeling his teeth cut bloody furrows into her will she quickly strikes out at the front leg closest to her. She aims to bite the flesh in the middle of his leg, hoping to leave the boy with a few small, stinging wounds. As she bites, Tove shifts her weight backward and tries to pull the boy’s legs with her, hoping to throw him off balance.

He doesn't notice her head swing down toward his leg. As he goes to slide past her, his teeth digging in before letting go, he feels the piercing pain. Sharp and stinging, his eyes squint for a second as he winces. Letting out his own quiet grunt as his rear end begins to pivot and he can feel her tugging on his leg, he is glad that he has bulked up considerably. When his hips slide into place so he's parallel with her, his front leg that she has a hold of is lifted into the air and pulled. Using the momentum from her efforts, Ghoul lets his weight start to fall forward with a slight lean toward her. If she didn't let go and move, he would come crashing down on her smaller form. Tove reveals in the joy of sparring again. Since her brother’s death and the long period of healing required from the bear attacks, the older wolf had gotten rusty. Luckily this youth is keeping to knock some of it off.

They both bite each other, the male getting her scruff while she bites his leg. He is taller and heavier than her but Tove is determined to give this kid a fight. She pulls and he pivots, raising up to begin falling slightly toward her. Ah, that is clever. The older wolf releases her hold on his leg, aiming to left her own front end off the ground and shift slightly to wrap her legs around his scruff. If he continues to fall, Tove will go with him in the hopes of coming out with the win.
