"Swatting butterflies."

There it was.... just outside of the den. It's wings glistened menacingly in the fading sunlight. Nirah wasn't afraid though, the pup was the opposite of it. There was a primeval smile spread across her face. Flexing her claws she felt the tiny things hook into the stone before receeding back into her paws. She was different then her parents and siblings. They all had these dull strange nails, but she, she had sharp little things that she liked to drag across tree's and most of all she could catch the best practice prey of all, butterflies.

Her haunches wiggled as she krept forward, pawstep by pawstep she saw the mountain home come into view. She was always amazed when she walked outside of the den, Nirah wondered softly when that 'new' feeling would disappear. Nirah's attention locked on the butterfly she leaped but her clumsy paws had her tripping slightly. Her claws hit solid ground a growl ripping through her tiny body. It flew in front of her face before taking off to the sky and far out of her reach. "Stupid butterfly. I'll catch you and just you watch I'll eat you just like any other prey." she snorted and turned before looking back at the territory. She had to sit, after all there was so much to see out here.

Nirah was out and about. Imp wasn't far behind. He watched his sister attempt to tackle a bug and proclaimed she'd eat it. The boy stuck out a tongue, making an awful face of disgust. Nirah finally sat down and looked back, and she would see Imp approach her. He walked toward his kin and aimed a nibbling bite at her neck. "Play!" he barked, not at all developed language-wise compared to the rest. He was a slow learner, but a good learner. "Unless... you wanna play with the bug?" he pinned his little ears against his tiny skull, wondering if that damn butterfly was a better brother! "we find another bug for you" he added brightly, his jaw twisting into a smile "something you can eat" Gross. Whatever, Nirah was free to do what she liked. It was her mouth "okay?" He prompts, demanding her attention. Nobody else was around and he was quite bored.

Nirah was distracted when her brother came to her. He nibbled on her and at first she gave a soft yelp of surprise though it quickly turned into a laugh. Play! Imp had a funny way of saying things but she didnt mind, their mother and father said pups all grew differently. Playfully she swatted a paw at the side of his face making sure her claws were sheathed. "Im trying to be a hunter!" she puffed out her chest proudly as Imp spoke about finding her another bug. Did he want to help?! Excitement rippled through her fur. She frowned for a moment. "Are you mad that i was playing with the bug instead of you?" she tilted her head. "Da says the food we get is killed by adults! We have to learn too you know." her tail wagged.

"But if you want to wrestle we can." a playful growl left her throat as she fell into a play bow. A michevious grin crawling on her face. If she could throw imp in the dirt maybe itd look cool! Though she didnt actually want to hurt him of course. He was her brother and that meant something to her.

He wrinkled his nose more.

"Bugs ain't food!" he protested her logic, ignoring her spot on reasoning about him being mad "ya could've found a mouse... We can find a mouse!" he added brightly. Imp had woken up once watching a mouse in the den. Everyone else was asleep and he watched it nibble around the ground before he lunged at it. The delight in watching its eyes fill with alarm... Priceless.

Nirah proclaimed she would play if he wanted. She had swatted him, and he nibbled on her paw if allowed. "Wrestle!" he agreed, launching himself at his sister. The mice were forgotten about at the moment. All Imp wanted to do was play with his sister. What a one-track mind he had. Oh well. "Then hunt!" he added out of consideration for her wanting to be a hunter.

This was fine, Nirah loved the idea of putting Imp in the ground. In a playful sort of way of course. She growled though not very menacing as she swiped a paw forward. It was a warning testing her limbs as she prepared to lunge at her brother. He was a sitting duck as far as she was concerned. Nirah jumped trying to close the distance quickly between the two of them. She opened her jaws and attempted to strike towards Imp's scruff. There wasn't much power to her attacks but she wasn't aware that her claws were sharp yet.

She hugged her brother with her paws on either side. Her claws aiming to come out just naturally for the grip. Nirah leaned back aiming to take Imp with her in case they tumbled. Yet he was sturdy she had no idea how fighting even worked yet. Her movements were clumsy like any other pup but all she really cared about was having fun with her brother.

"RAWR!"

It was time to tussle! Nirah opened her mouth and closed it around Imp's scruff. Instinct seemed to kick in when she bear-hugged him and pulled him to the earth. Unaware his teeth would come in sharp and deadly, he more or less nom'ed the front of her throat. He gripped the best he could, chewing like a puppy teething.

They both seemed to crash to the earth, wiggling legs and flailing limbs. Imp would grow into a less than sturdy young man, light on his paws over brute strength. It was tussling like this that would make him flee or run into fighting naturally. If he lost too badly over the years, he'd give it up for good. Nobody liked a quitter, but he wasn't gonna embarrass Habari!
