[ooc: Healer thread. Any hunters who get hurt in the main hunt can come here to get patched up <3]

Legacy Ancora

She’d trotted behind the group, laden with her gear, pouch, and a travois on which were packed the supplies for packing meat out. It was good the hunt was so close to home; they’d be able to part the animal out and carry it home in multiple trips in a relatively short amount of time.

As the group came to a stop, she moved off to one side, closer to Valhalla than to the ledge, and unpacked, smiling up at Taliesyn as the stallion lowered to the ground so she could unfasten the travois poles for his own packs and cargo, primarily the yurt. The horse wouldn’t be participating in the hunt, but would be offering his strength to haul the meat, hide, tusks and bones home.

She wrestled with the yurt until it was set up, and then set up her healing kit inside, with a small fire started in front of the shelter for heating teas and poultices.

She ducked into the yurt once everything was set up and settled with her herbs, mortar and pestle, and the various ingredients she’d need, from oils to honey, to stop bleeding, make poultices stick, and soothe bruises. Hopefully, bruises and scratches were all she’d be seeing cross her threshold today. At least, if there were many injuries to tend, she wouldn’t be alone in the work.

She leaned out the flap and asked Amory, “How many bruises and scratches do you think we’ll be patching up? Ardyn’s bound to get a few good ones for us.”

There was a note of teasing in her words. Ardyn was well-known to the healers for being a goof wound treatment practice patient. He had a habit of fighting bears and tigers, after all.

Legacy speaks with a heavy Irish brogue type accent, but is perfectly understandable as she tends to speak clearly and enunciates well.

Legacy is nearly always clad in her Deer Hide Armor when on outings, mainly because you never know when you'll find an herb to take home. Unless stated otherwise, it's relatively safe to assume she's wearing it.

The unicorn stallion had been carrying the heaviest packs and poles for the yurt the healers would be erecting. Participating in the hunt wasn’t in his cards; he was a herbivore, after all. Hunting another herbivore was against his instincts. It was enough to walk among the herds at home, keeping an eye out for the old, badly injured, and sick that needed to be culled for the health of the rest of the prey herds.

No, he’d be standing guard over the healers, and if the elephant did happen to charge their way, he was hopefully large and bright enough to make the beast change its mind and go the other way.

The stallion lowered to the ground and Legacy removed the poles of the travois from the harness the pack had fashioned for him at his own suggestion and knowledge passed down from his mother. She’d worn such a thing as a filly, before the humans had disappeared and she’d found herself, and the rest of the horses and animals at the farm she’d been born and raised on, left to sink or swim, as it were.

To the wolves, the humans had been gone for many generations; practically legendary myths, despite the many things left behind. For the horses and other long-lived creatures, they’d been gone only a short time. He’d heard elephants could live for decades. How many had the old bull seen till now?
