It had been a few days since Bae had been attacked by Lucy's mother and he had hunkered down in the area near. Did he feel concerned about Luce? yes, but not because he feared she would be hurt by anything her mother did, no it was the distance she had to go to visit her parents at their den. There was a lot that could happen in that short distance. The sun had set beyond clouds hours ago, but it was barely noon when that happened. Luce to his knowledge had left to catch up to her parents, though the weather had started to turn and it made him worry. It had started to drizzle while he was hunting for their dinner. Now though the clouds were producing a downpour and the skies were dark, tinted with an almost green hue. This would be a bad storm. Hopefully Luce had had the sense to get back to their makeshift den in the old farmhouse or to hunker down at her parents place. She didn't need a repeat of how she had lost them in the first place. He was drenched to the bone as he moved backwards. His mouth clenched a large buffalo calf. His sides hurt and would likely be bruised good from its mother fighting him. There was blood on his side he knew, from where she gouged him with her horns. It would heal so he wasn't concerned. He dragged the carcass onto the porch of the farmhouse and could hear the other three hooves as the dragged with each tug. His ass would be the first thing she would see as he dragged it with a lot of effort into the old entryway through the front door. as soon as the maybe ninety pound carcass was inside he would drop its back leg and fall back on his ass, panting. He looked down at the bloody gash on his right side and frowned. It hadn't looked that bad before. It was long and he wasn't sure if the white was matted fur or bone, but it definitely stung when he went to lick it. It might scar. Thunder and lightning clashed outside and he shook himself. He was drenched. He had secured a large meal for them though that would last for more than one day. Walk, "talk", Think |

So her initial exploration of The Range had proved fruitful. She had wanted to save it for something to spoil Bae-Syl with, a place they could just hang out, but it had turned out to be where they ended up staying. She didn’t like the distance from her parents either, but not because she was worried about what might happen on the way there. Her mom was still acting funny, not wanting to fully look at her, not saying much. It had Lucy worried, really worried. And of course, her dad didn’t want to go far from the den either with her mom like this, so he couldn’t look for the herbs Bae had mentioned… And so Lucy had taken it upon herself to try hunting for them. …with failure. Lucette didn’t know both plants preferred drier terrains… which, well, an old farm and orchard were not. She spent hours looking, ignoring the warning signs of the weather in hopes that maybe, just maybe she’d find it. Nope. She felt first one raindrop, ignoring it, and then before she knew it the drizzle had turned into a downpour. The rain was cold, soaking her through as she tried to make her way back to the farmhouse. She tried to run at first but the heavy rain was making it near impossible to do so. It felt like she was getting nowhere fast and she once again cursed her small stature. Every time there was a bad storm she got stuck like this… Well, at least it wasn’t a hurricane again, right? …right? The wind whipped against her smaller form and Lucy stopped, bracing herself as the shiver ran through her body. It didn’t take long before she felt like she was freezing. Then came the clap of thunder. ‘You’ve got to be kidding me…’ The pixie groaned. She looked up, green gaze at least making out the farmhouse. Celeste above she hoped Bae-Syl wouldn’t notice she was out here. The last thing she needed was for him to get worried about her being in another storm. "Talk", 'Think.' |

He took the moment to gather his breath and to determine if he needed immediate medical attention, he didn't think it was that bad. Bruised, bloody and open but it wasn't terrible. Though Luce would likely freak out if she saw it. He chuckled, then winced at the feeling of it on his ribs. Okay so that likely wasn't as good, but he could also chalk that up to it being a fresh wound. Luce was gonna flip, possibly sit on him to keep him in bed until she was sure it closed. He made a face at the thought of staying in bed until it healed. That wouldn't happen if he could help it. He stood and moved to the room off to the side with the weird structures inside it. The wood was all shaped here and it was slightly weird to the male. This was the room he had been sleeping in though. There was no sign of Luce here, not alarming really, she might be elsewhere or might not of returned yet. He moved about the old house peering into every room for Luce in passing. She wasn't inside. His ears flattened as he moved back into the entryway. She would probably have his ear for this but he had to be certain she was okay. He moved beyond the door back onto the porch and looked around the area he could see. The sky wasn't getting any prettier an the wind was whipping hard. It could probably take off with Luce with how hard it was whipping. His ears pressed back. His eyes caught on the White in the distance that could only be Luce's tiny form. Alarm went through him and he jumped the railing to the porch in mere seconds, landing on the other side and bounding towards her quickly. She wasn't getting out of what he had in mind for the girl to move faster. His form would almost crash into her as he skidded to a stop, ducking his head, aiming for over her. If he calculated correctly he would have one pissed off pixie under him, with his body taking the brunt of the rain. "Why the fuck are you out here in this?!" His voice was loud enough she could hear him regardless, holding alarm and worry over the tiny soaked pixie. Walk, "talk", Think |

…and of course, no sooner did that thought cross her brain did she see the rainbow-marked man appear. She shivered again, the wind whipping around her smaller form once more. She lowered her head against it, not noticing that Bae-Syl had already started out across the way toward her. She was freezing, and she wanted to get out of the rain, but it was tough going. If the farmhouse wasn’t so close by she would have considered finding a makeshift area to bed down, but when she was this close? Surely she could power through? Then Bae was above her, shielding her body from the rain. Lucy opened her eyes, ears lowered at the sound of his voice. “I was trying to find those herbs for mom!” She called back to him, hoping he might hear her over the downpour. Though given how she was currently soaked to the bone… she was sure he could assume that she had failed. She started trying to move back toward the farmhouse. They could talk more inside, where it was warm and safe. If Bae hadn’t been over her she might have noticed the wound, so for the time being that was all she was worried about. "Talk", 'Think.' |

If he wasn't worried about her he might of sighed in exasperation at the fact that she wasn't where he thought her to be. How was he supposed to keep her safe if she was constantly off on an adventure he didn't know about? His body was blocking the majority of the rain and he kept it that way as they pushed towards the house. He didn't let her out from under him until she was at the covered porch. And once he was on the porch he shook his pelt from as much water as he could. If they didn't get sick from this he would be astonished. His side was leaving behind little drops of reddish pink water he didn't even notice as he pushed Lucette gently to the door. He entered after her and maneuvered to the spot he had adopted for his bed. An old furniture piece in the adjoining room that easily held them both. He unceremoniously flopped on the peice, not even thinking, before sitting back up with a hiss. He glared back at his side and flopped on the opposite side. "Heh, I promise its not that bad...." he looked back at luce expecting her to be worried or jumping into action like he was about to die from this little wound. Though truth be told he was kind of light headed from it, that might be normal though. Walk, "talk", Think |

Lucette was cursing her poor decision now. She was so cold, feeling miserable, and have even caused Bae-Syl to get dragged back out into the rain to help protect her. She knew she often wasn’t where she should be… she had a sense of wanderlust that wasn’t simple curbed. She had to admit it was nice settling down somewhere so big and spacious for a chance. She’d grown fond of the farmhouse. Maybe it could be like a base of operations for them, a place to come home to. She welcomed the thought as she trudged the rest of the way under Bae towards the back porch. It wasn’t a glamorous march but they made it. Once he moved from over her Lucette shook out her coat, the action was done with so much force that she slipped a little. Then she moved inside, noticing the calf first. “You caught this? And drug it here? In the rain?” She asked with a quirked brow. Bae-Syl was already on his way into the next room, however, flopping down unceremoniously on the thing were using as a bed. She would have shaken her head, dismissing his actions if it wasn’t for the sudden pained hiss she heard escape his lips. Lucette was moving in a second to the other room. Her green eyes went wide the moment she saw the wound and she scoffed, immediately hopping back off the bed to the lamb’s ear she had brought back from the orchard on one of her visits to her folks. She had hoped she wouldn’t need it, but her father had mentioned it might be a good idea to gather some anyway. She didn’t have a bag like her dad did to store it, so she wasn’t able to bring a lot, but it was something. “Not that bad my ass, any deeper and you could have been gored. Going after a bison calf, alone, without anyone to distract the mother? She could have ripped you apart and trampled you! Sorry to say, Bae, you’re pretty to look at, but you’re not any fun if you’re a blood den liner.” Lucette picked up the lamb's ear and moved back to the bed and set it down to look at the wound. Thankfully being in the downpour served a purpose - the wound was cleaner than it would have been without it. She glanced at him again; the wound was right across his rib cage and fairly long. Maybe four inches across the ribs and two inches or so high. “You’d better not ever hunt bison again. You’re on bed rest for the new few days at least. This thing needs to scab well before you do anything major, do you understand?” Her ears flicked back. “I don’t even have the right herbs here to treat it, and I know good and well if I try to go back out there to get what I need you’ll drag me back in here by my tail so we’re going to work with what I’ve got. It’s mainly for smaller wounds and scrapes but hopefully, it’ll help prevent infection.” Lucette’s gaze softened slightly. “This is going to hurt like a bitch and you’re probably going to have some bad bruising from this… I’ll have my dad come look at it tomorrow. He’s got more herbs stashed in his bag than just this lamb’s ear. He’s more experienced than me too, and this looks like if it doesn’t close properly it’s going to be a pain…” The femme then set to work on the wound, washing over it with her tongue. It didn’t taste great but she wanted to make sure that the bleeding had come to a complete stop before she started treating the injury. As well as make sure it was fully clean. Right now the thought that they’d probably both wake up sick tomorrow wasn’t even on her mind; she was focused on the injury in front of her, and if Bae-Syl knew what was good for him he wouldn’t try to argue. Lucy would sit on him if she had to to make sure he didn’t go anywhere. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prescribe a treatment (to Bae-Syl) - 1 / 3 "Talk", 'Think.' |

He wasn't surprised when she leaped into action after his pained hiss. though he had to stifle a laugh, she was going on and starting a tirade about what he was and wasn't supposed to be doing and how stupid he was. A grin spread on his lips as she started in. There wasn't going to be any stopping her nor was he about to try. He was aware she had seemed impressed by his catch until he made a pained noise, but he wasn't about to comment yet. He laid and stretched out so she could get to his side easily. His head went to lay on his front legs as he looked at her. The grin didn't falter while she kept talking, never interrupting her but also half listening at the same time. He wasn't not going to hunt bison, their meat was good and those thick coats and leather would be good for them. He just needed more wolves to hunt with maybe. Bed rest, she could forget that too. If she was out and about obviously Bae would have to be ready to pounce into action at any minute. When she finished he gave a chuckle, "If I'm on bed rest, then guess you get to go no where then for a while." He was teasing in his voice, they both knew that he would be on bed rest about as well as she would be bound to stay close and not explore. It was impossible to stop them both honestly. His eyes held humor to them at his tease. Then she started washing he wound and all humor in him faded. He hissed and did his best to keep from jolting out of her reach though the muscles still spasmed. It stung like a bitch, and the flesh there had already been agitated by a lot of movement an the bleeding. He bared his teeth at the pain and turned his face from luce to keep her from thinking he was baring his fangs at her. He wouldn't dare and she knew it. His eyes squeezed shut and his ears pressed into his nape. Walk, "talk", Think |

He was being a bit of a pain, not that Lucette could fault him for it when her mindset would have swung the same way. She continued to clean, fixing him with a hard look. She had words to say and just because her tongue was currently busy didn't mean she wasn't going to say them… and maybe she gave the wound a couple extra licks to stress a point. Then, blood in her mouth, she moved closer to the edge of the bed and spat it at the Earth. Yuck. Maybe they needed to go for a wash more often. His fur, while it had remained white, had grit in it. Well.. duh, she told herself. He had hunted the bison calf… and the mother had been the one to get him. Could have been residue on her horn. Ew. Either way… it was a thought for later.
For now Lucy turned to him. "You know damn good and well I don't sit still unless I'm dying, or if I ever end up dead I guess. I'm serious Bae… if this thing doesn't scab and you get it infected what you're feeling now will be like the tenderest kiss. Infected wounds are freaking nasty and they hurt like hell. I don't want to see you suffer, Bae. If it got infected I don't even know if my dad could help." Her ears lowered and her gaze fixed on him. "It's not like the tiny puncture wounds I left on your leg. If this gets infected I'm sure it could kill you." It was Lucy's turn to be worried. Her father had always stressed the importance of keeping a wound clean. Always! She knew Bae-Syl worried for her but honestly, what would happen to her in a few days while he rested?
She flinched as another shiver of cold ran through her body. Yeah, right. She could pull a stupid too… and then what? What if she couldn't make it back to him? Dammit, she hated when he was right.
Lucette moved back to his side and huffed. "Fine." She wouldn't fight him on this. This was more dangerous than some petty fight about letting her walk. If she failed… her gaze focused on her paws. If Bae-Syl died it was going to be her fault. She wasn't prepared with herbs, she didn't even know if her dad had what they'd need. She closed her eyes for a moment, uttering a certain four letter curse for the first time in her life.
"Fuck!" She breathed out, expelling frustration akin to her mother's anger. If there was a feeling in the world she hated above any other it was feeling powerless. Powerless to help her best friend… "I don't even know if the Lamb's Ear will do anything. I mean, what if I'm wrong? What if it doesn't help with infection at all? What's that make it, some cheap bandaging?" Tears had started to prick her eyes though Lucette wasn't looking at him. Hot, angry streams began to slide down her cheeks.
"Damnit…" For the first time ever she had been broken out of her focus of healing. For once the possibilities weren't "okay" but instead leaned toward very not okay. It wasn't a chance they could be lost. It was a chance he could be lost. And that realization terrified her.

He had been around here long enough to realize her actions and thoughts weren't one. Once the sting settled and she seemed done cleaning it he righted himself and sighed. He would normally let Lucy come back from her own thoughts but her face had fallen from her normal smile. His ears pressed. She couldn't look more like his mother in that moment, his heart twinged at the thought. She looked vulnerable and scared. Of what he had no idea. But he would fight it with his everything. He turned his body slightly to curl up more. His paw aimed to pull her to himself, so he could rest his chin on her head. "Relax Lu, everything will be okay. Its just a little cut, nothing I can't heal off with your amazing care." he wouldn't stop her from getting up from his cuddle if she wanted but she looked like she could use it right now. She had gotten her point across though. She was worried he wouldn't heal and he chuckled quietly. "Alright, you win. I stay here in this place until its scabbed up and your happy with it. But ur going to give a little too, or else I'll be too worried about your safety to actually stay here and heal. You go no farther than ur parents and back, and if you get into trouble no matter the cause you call me immediately." how could he tell her theworld wasn't all rainbows and daisies? That he was pretty sure he had some cousins that would kill anyone he was close to just to hurt him. The answer was simple. He didn't. Those were things you hid for your entire life if you had to. He didn't doubt though she had most likely noticed, he tossed and turned at night sometimes, and had woken himself up several times whimpering. Those were things he needed to bury just like his demons. He was not them, an he would prove his uncle wrong. Walk, "talk", Think |

When Bae-Syl aimed to pull her close Lucette didn’t resist. She let it happen, resting her head against his chest as she whined. She didn’t like this at all. Bae-Syl could protect her, but in the end, did she even have enough healing knowledge to protect him back? She was still so new to the idea of it. She talked a big game and had gotten them this far but, honestly, she needed to learn more. Her father had only started teaching her basics about things. She was no master at this. It wasn’t always going to be enough and realizing that it scared her. But Bae wasn’t worried at all. His words remained calm, soothing, trying to reassure her. At least he had agreed to stay put until the wound scabbed over. By then, she thought, unless the scab got ripped off it should at least avoid getting infected at that point. She sniffled, giving a nod to his conditions. She could live with that. No big adventures, but she wasn’t chained down. “Okay, Bae…” She drew in slow and steadying breaths. She wanted to remain strong for him, just like he was for him. Bae-Syl didn’t falter… she had to get ahold of herself. She had to be a strong healer. She drew in another breath and broke away from his cuddle. “I’ll have dad look at it later, but for now, we’ve got to try something. Stay still for me, okay?” Her smile hadn’t returned but she was trying to brave, put up her normal mannerisms as she moved to take some of the Lamb’s Ear in her mouth. She didn’t really have anything to crush it with other than her teeth right now. She probably could have tried to find something in the farmhouse but she didn’t want to leave Bae-Syl’s side right now. Taking a couple of the leaves she began to chew them up. They’d be more like a pulp by the time she was done with them but at least then she could spread that out over the wound. Then, because that pulp would be a bit sticky, she could use the remaining soft leaves to press over it and give it some protection. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prescribe a treatment (to Bae-Syl) - 2 / 3 "Talk", 'Think.' |

As she pulled away he let her easily. There was no need to hold her since she had stopped whining. Whatever she was thinking he was sure she would let him know eventually. Until then though he would let her be. His eyes stayed on her though as she started working on chewing her herbs telling him to stay still for her.
He had utmost trust and confidence in her abilities to heal, so with confidence that she would do the best she could he layed over on his uninjured side. His eyes never left her though. He'd done this before and was content to do it as much as she asked. He was a man who knew better than to argue with a healer, though that didn't mean he wouldn't one day. He would let her do what needed to be done easily. There would be no fight from him to avoid it, after all luce likely would sit on him if he tried to deny himself treatment.

He didn’t respond again verbally but by his body staying still and with his eyes on her Lucy knew that was willing to let her work. For that she was grateful; she wanted him to get better, and to be safe. Once he recovered she didn’t care if they had to hunt bunnies for the rest of their life. She just wanted to make sure he wouldn’t get hurt again. Those were the thoughts on the pixie-like girl’s mind as she chewed the Lamb’s Ear slowly in her mouth. It didn’t take terribly long for her to crush it up, the taste a bit on the bitter and weird side, but it was for Bae, so she dealt with it. Carefully she “spat” the herb-y gunk onto her friend’s hurt. No doubt the juices of the plant would cause the injury to flare with pain again. She cast him a quick, apologetic look before taking another leaf in her mouth and, using that, she worked on smoothing the mixture out on Bae-Syl’s injury. Then, once she was satisfied that it was mostly covered, she gently pressed the leaf against the mixture and did the same with the remaining two. It wasn’t a perfect treatment by any means but it was something to try and make sure he would be okay. Then, after another quick spit, she returned to Bae-Syl’s side and moved so that she was practically under him, seeking to move under his head. She whined softly, glad that she had done something for him, but questioning if it’d be enough until her dad touched up the treatment and made sure Bae-Syl was able to heal properly. “Please be more careful…” She whined again, softer this time as she pressed against him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prescribe a treatment (to Bae-Syl) - 3 / 3 "Talk", 'Think.' |
Mental health (particularly depression and anxiety) is extremely bad. Currently unable to handle IC conflict or conflict between characters, pack related or individual. I am struggling to post even simple things and will not be able to continue with thread if approached. Sorry for the inconvenience but I just can't right now.
