Kichi

She had been doing a patrol of their new lake dominated territory when she noticed a heard of reindeer that were passing through the edge of it. They wouldn't be around long, but she wanted to take advantage of their presence there. One of them would be far too large for her to take down on her own and even if she had someone with her it would still be quite a task to get it done. However, there was a sizable reindeer calf that could be more manageable if she had someone assisting her. Perhaps with a trap of some sort to keep it held in place while they drove the rest of the herd off from trying to protect it...
If nothing else it had her interest and she went back toward the island a bit to see if she could spot someone to grab and take with her to hunt. She didn't want to call for someone and risk spooking the herd and she was afraid that if she went all the way back to the island she'd miss the opportunity. Luckily, she was able to find Kichi near by and flagged the gray-hued younger man down and motioned for him to come closer. "Do you feel like helping me with a hunt?" she questioned quietly, giving him a raised, questioning brow. She hadn't spent a lot of time with him, but she seemed to remember him being a decent hunter so hopefully he would be on board with what she had in mind.

Kichi had been taking a walk with Torch, a notion in Kichi’s mind of going to find something to kill. He was more imagining animals like bears or other predators but he wasn’t overly picky. When Manea called him Kichi headed to her, the water deer trotting happily along with him.
Kichi scented the reindeer even as Manea made the offer and Kichi nodded, a small smile on his muzzle. It wasn’t quite as fun as killing predators but reindeer were nothing to disregard in a hunt. The animals were certainly able to hurt a foolish wolf. “I assume you mean the reindeer? Sounds like fun.”
Kichi nudged Torch, “go on, you don’t want to get involved with this.” The fanged deer barked at him as if arguing but then turned and trotted off a ways. Kichi smirked in amusement then looked back to Manea. Al loved her which meant Kichi would die protecting her if needed. Most of the world could crash and burn but she fell in the small circle that had to live. It was about time he spend more time with. “What’s the plan?”

Manea was glad to see Kichi was easily willing to join in on her proposed hunt and nodded to confirm that it was indeed the reindeer she was referring to. She was impressed that he had picked up on them from this distance, but reindeer were pretty smelly beasts so maybe it wasn't all that surprising. She smirked and bit back a chuckle as Kichi shooed away his small deer companion which the little water deer didn't take too kindly to, watching as Torch eventually relented and walked away, leaving her alone with Alastor's protege. His ice blue gaze returned to her as he questioned her about a plan. She grinned and nodded for him to follow, making their way back toward the edge of the territory where she had seen the reindeer and filling him in as they went.
"There's an adolescent in the herd that I believe the two of us could take down," she told him. If they had the time to go back to the pack and gather a proper hunting party then they could have managed one of the adults, but she could tell that they were on the move so they wouldn't have that kind of time before they were gone. "I say we keep this quick and simple. I can rush in to make the initial chase and injure it to slow it down and then you can come in to help finish bringing it down." She had the advantage compared to him when it came to height, but he had a heavier, more muscular build so they could balance one another out with her speed and his strength.

Kichi returned Manea’s grin, not that he knew the plan but killing things was one of the few things that Kichi had found that could give him pleasure in life. He’d spent enough time with no hope or goals to learn how to hate the world and it wasn’t much of a jump from that to a desire to kill those living in the world. Those who had a normal perfect life without the pain and suffering the world had dumped on Kichi. That festering hate had rotted his heart and the cure to warm it up was spilling the blood of another.
He followed her curious of more than just the prey. Hunting with her would offer Kichi another bit of insight into who this woman was that Alastor had given his heart to. Once the deer were in sight he sought out the young reindeer Manea meant while he listened to her plan. As she had labeled it, the plan was fast and simple. Take the youngling down before allowing it a chance to escape or get help from its herd. The reindeer may or may not defend a living calf, hell if Kichi knew what got into their minds between running and retaliating but, they didn’t seem to focus on revenge once a herd member was dead.
“I could move a ways off at an angle?" Kichi nodded towards a spot that would have him at about a ninety-degree angle. If she got to it from behind he could attempt to come up from more the path of its shoulder to slam into it. Perhaps the two wolves being from different directions would make her plan smoother. She was a better hunter than him though, at least he assumed she was. Al wouldn’t want someone who wasn’t the best and the best would be great at hunting. If she agreed he’d go get in position otherwise simply wait for her to give a signal.

After she had presented her simple, straight forward plan to Kichi he offered his own slight addendum and she grinned, nodding in agreement. "Sounds like we have a plan." She always appreciated hunting with someone that didn't need to have much explained to them or needed to over theorize on the best way to do something. Sometimes she just wanted to enjoy the hunt and let what happened happen which seemed to at least somewhat be Kichi's style as well. She motioned for him to move ahead of her and go to take his position. She made sure to watch him as he went so that she would have an idea of where he was hiding out so that when she started driving the reindeer and chasing them away from their current grazing spot then she could guide their target toward him to make the ambush.
She waited in cover until she saw the movement stop in the gently rustling brush and reeds. Grinning slightly and coiling her legs under her, she waited for the adolescent reindeer to start foolishly wandering a short distance from the rest of the herd in its perceived safety and comfort before leaping out from her hiding place, darting forward with easy, powerful strides toward their prey. She ran at them with snarls and growls, her lips pulled back over her teeth. The large prey animals immediately turned to run the opposite direction from her. She rushed in to cut off the path of the younger deer, making it rear up and bellow as it pivoted to avoid her. She snapped at its legs to get it moving again, forcing more space between the herd and the one they intended to bring down. As soon as the reindeer was going in the right direction where Kichi would have a good opening to slam into it to knock it off of its hooves, she made her move and leaped forward to catch the back of one of its hind legs between her jaws, her teeth tearing and shredding the tendons and causing it to immediately begin to limp and cut its movement and speed in half.

Kichi made his way to the spot he’d pointed out, staying quiet to not alert the reindeer prematurely. Once Kichi was in position he glanced back to where he’d left Manea. With the prey before them, any other thoughts were wiped from his mind. It was clear and focused on the plan and the prey below him. There were plenty of things that couldn’t be understood or might seem awkward at other points, things that could make one angry or unsettled but, not here. Now there was clarity.
Manea started and Kichi tensed, wanting to run himself but giving it a moment. The adults split away and Manea started the reindeer in his direction. Kichi broke forth from his hiding spot and ran to meet up with the two. Manea was going for his leg and Kichi slammed his body into the reindeer's front shoulder. Between the damage, Manea did to its back leg and Kichi’s hitting it the plan was going as Manea had foreseen. The deer cried out, wanting parents to come that would never risk the wolves wrath. The animal's knee’s hit the ground and Kichi bit into its neck before it could think about getting up, tearing open the flesh where the blood would flow thickest.
