Next up on his list of explorations was an island that was as distinctive as they came. The tint of green coming off the shores was clearly noticeable even from the adjoining islands, a byproduct apparently of the copper that was rich in these shores. The island itself was barren and boring and even slightly small. Disappointed, Azure made his way across the short field of dead and dying trees toward the 'beach' - if he could call it that. Low tide had pulled the ocean back, revealing green-stained sand and kelp that looked like it could be poisonous. Cool.

As he stepped, a spout of water sprang out from the left side of his paw. He recoiled back in surprise, squinting down into the sand and the faint depression beside where the spout had originated from. Interesting. Dragging his paw across the sand layer by layer, he began to dig carefully downwards.

Tyrfing had been helping Corbie’s companions bring the herd back to their new pasture in the Range, deciding to take a break while they rested and spend some time checking out the neighbouring islands. There was one in particular that drew his interest, a greenish hued island that did not share the tropical appearance of the others. Crossing the channel with ease, he came out from the water to see a wolf who was familiar to him already. He’d hunted a manta ray with the man and two other strangers. “What’dya got there?” He trotted up and dipped his head, eyeing the odd spout with curiosity. The sudden appearance of another drew Azure’s gaze sidelong, though he did not lift his head from where he dug in the sand. Years of living beach side had taught him the oddities of these creatures, and the small fountain of liquid next to the depression of sand was a clear indicator that something was beneath the surface. Raking his oversized claws in the sand again and again, he grunted his reply to the man. “Clams.” Tyrfing was a young adult, boisterous and confident and with the annoying quality of many his age. Azure being restrained and cautious did not tend to mix well with the vocal and brash types. Maybe if he ignored him enough, the purple man would wander away to go bother someone else. "Speech"

Azure’s clipped reply did not bother Tyrfing in the slightest, he gave the older man a grin and slid in beside him, pressing his shoulder near against Az’s as he dug and ignoring the way the Fatalis alpha pivoted on his forepaws to gain more distance. He was a good guy now, yeah? Being a member of Avalon and all. There was no reason not to be friendly. “How do you know they’re there?” He ventured, tilting his head to each side as the pit was dug deeper and deeper, and imagining that a wolf would waste hours combing through the beach until they found the one spot the clams were hiding. Surely there was a better way, or the hungry hunter could simply go into the ocean and find some fish? Azure sighed, his tone growing firm as he gave his reply. “Because of the water spout.” Remaining concise and not offering anything more, the man’s tone had a clear ‘obviously’ tacked onto the end of it. Digging his claws down again and again, he raked through the soft sand until finally, his prize was revealed. The texture beneath his paws changed, a hardness becoming clear and Azure scooped his bear paws down to pull the hidden clam to the surface.

Holding it between two elongated, curved claws, he held it up for Tyrfing to see (to, of course, prove to the man that he knew what he was talking about) and then tucked it away in his borrowed pack. He considered digging out more, but Tyrfing did not seem nearly phased enough by his bluntness and he could not put it past the other man to simply stay and watch his entire hunt. Accepting the single clam he’d gathered, Azure turned and tossed a lazy goodbye over his shoulder - headed back to the shore and eager to get off this stupid island and as far from the overly friendly viking as he could get.
