Northern Exposure
Modesty and Ignis
Pyralis decided it would be best to just start at the top and work their way on down into the west and back home. She sent Alkali to scout out ahead and help give them some guidance as to where the packs were located. She already knew the Armada was in the north and that they had plenty of resources worth taking. Did they have the whole north to themselves? It seemed not. She bent her head and sniffed at the ground as they approached a wall. There were a number of scents around here though they didn't seem to denote the same territorial behavior as a pack. A band perhaps? A family group? She wasn't sure.
Pyralis hopped up onto the wall as the wind shifted. Bingo. "Hey, seems like there's a pack dead north of us. Hmmm…" Generally it was the warriors that patrolled and marked the borders. She wasn't picking up a wide variety of scents. "Seems small. Not surprising if its new. This wasn't here last time I was up north." At least she hadn't recalled it. Pyralis frowned. "If they haven't been established long they might not have much worth raiding for. We could go say hi though. Thoughts? Worth the time or shall we shove on?"

He followed Pyralis up North, his fur smelling strongly of herbs after all the fights he had been in over the last season. He had really gone and overdone it, but he'd never admit that. The crew made it to the Wall, a place he hadn't really seen or been to since he let Incendium drop. There was a myriad of scents, and after sending his cockatoo to scout with Pyralis' bird, his bird reported the Armada of course, and judging from the scents they were finding, a new pack seemed to have taken up residence where he had once claimed. Head lifted as Pyralis spoke, listening to her thoughts on the matter and he agreed with her for the most part. "I don't see the point in raiding a pack that may not have anything. The only other reason to raid them would be for a potentially easy win, but what's the fun and worth in that if they've nothing of value?" |

While she appreciated the time away from the brats, Modesty had really grown to enjoy a somewhat more sedentary life. Being back out here now… might had made some small measure of difference (though whether it was the scenery of the peace and quiet was hard to tell). She did take some interest when Pyr drew their attention to the newly established scents around the place. It was a shame her favourite climbing trees were now claimed land. She didn’t have much of an opinion on raiding, she wasn’t really much of a one for fighting overall, she just came along for a bit of fun.
Armada moving was something new, and for a moment she considered making a detour of her own to see if Sirius had any idea where her mother was. She had to introduce her to the kids while the majority of them were still alive, if only to prove that, of all her siblings, she was the one that did the thing and now she wouldn’t have to do it again.
She listened to Ignis and mulled over his words for a moment, before offering her own opinion. “I went to Armada a few times when I was a kid and they were right next to Ashen, they were always well stocked. The newbies though? Can’t hurt to suss them out, we might be surprised?” After all, a pack didn’t spring up out of nothing, and if the other two were happy for her to do so, she would detour by Armada on her own, for old time sake. Maybe Ophie was still around?
“Speech.”
Pyralis listened as Ignis and Modesty spoke and nodded her agreement. A new pack likely hadn't had much time to gahtering up stores worth raiding for. There was a chance that they could be surprised but Pyr thought it some what unlikely. Still, it wouldn't hurt to put a face to the pack name, so to speak. "Works for me." She had started to head closer to the pack border when Alkali let out a call. "Pyralis, if I may. We still have to scout out the west. If they aren't worth our time let's move on and get back. No offense… but if you wish to participate in one more raid… time is of the essense."
Pyralis scowled at the bird. "Wait, are you saying I'm old?" She shook her head then chuckled. The bird had a point. She did hope to participate in at least one more raid. Who knew, maybe she'd kick it during this one and that would be it. "Ok, let's head West. We have a new pack up here that probably isn't a worthy target and the Armada. As Modesty says they're probably well stocked. According to a lone merchant they frequently hold a marketplace. Doubt the merchants would bother if recourses were scare. Sound like a plan?" If her fellows really did want to call for small packs alpha she'd go along, but she could see the wisdom in being quick about their scouting.
