When Life Gives Me Lemons I Just Mix 'Em In My Drink

Come down, come down sweet reverence
It was a gorgeous morning, cool and a bit cloudy but overall the weather was pleasant and Jynn stretched for a moment before curling up tighter into a ball. She was so cozy she hated to move but at her stomach's persistent growling she decided she had no choice. It was time to get some breakfast. Jynn stretched and eased her way down the mountain to the pool below. She usually had better luck fishing in the morning but it also meant the water was cooler. She debated using her tail method once more but having had a mix of success and failure she opted to just slowly ease herself into the water. If anything it would at least wake her up.

Bina had spent the morning following what few game trails she could find around the mountain. There were signs of mountain goat here and some other species she didn't recognize. There were also likely a few deer making this a good place to set up camp for awhile and see how the winter progressed. She'd only spoken briefly with Jynn a few times but they were setting into a respectful acquaintance relationship. She returned to find Jynn starting to wade into the water. "Morning, after breakfast?" Without waiting for an answer Birna leapt across a few rocks to bring herself closer to the center of the pool. There she waited, wrapping her tail around herself as she peered down through the water.

Jynn shivered as she eased herself into the water but it helped to clear the fuzz that had collected in her head over the night and the beautiful clear water made it easier to see her prey and gauge when one might swim up to her. She heard Birna arrive before she saw the cat and nodded a greeting to the other. "Morning Birna, yea I thought I'd get some fish for dinner. You're welcome to join me." The snow leopard didn't hesitate and moved to her own fishing spot. Jynn had to admit she was jealous of the cat's claws. It would make fishing so much easier. Instead she needed to rely on the speed of her jaws which meant sticking her face in the water at some point. Jynn let her head hang, jaws poised over the water and ready to strike.

Birna settled into the quiet and peace of the morning. While Jynn was a friendly creature she tended to get chattier the more the day went on so Birna would revel in the silence while she had it. She watched the fish swimming to and fro, spying a few good sized white bass. She should have kept some bait from her last attempt at fishing but still, she was patient. Her right paw lifted, poised to strike. The benefit of her ability to cause electroshocks meant her range could extend out from her physical strike, a useful ability when it came to fishing. Birna was far enough away from Jynn she didn't worry about shocking the other woman.

Jynn tensed and focused as a white bass swam nearby, chasing after some minnows but it slowed and shifted course as it neared. It seemed hesitant. Meanwhile a number of small minnows were sheltering beneath her form. It would've almost been tempting to try and get a few but that meant very little meat and a mouthful of water. She'd wait. Jynn wasn't sure how much time had gone by when the bass finally swam closer, fixating on the minnows. The moment the fish was close enough her head darted down and she seized it in her jaws. Jynn immediately bounded out of the water to finish slaying the fish and start eating.
